I like to think there's never been an angel nor there's a devil inside Jin. As we know, it doesn't completely absorbed by Azazel in T6. True it might be devil gene, but it is Jin's own power. That "devil" is in fact Jin himself, a reflection of what he *truly desires*. Before, he couldn't seems to control the power. In fact, he's in control of it. But deep inside Jin always hated those power (to a degree he wanted to get rid of it), thus in response that power won't come out. That's why it only came out in life-death situation where he *desires* to stay alive (or when he truly wanted to beat the sh** out of his opponents I guess). This seems valid as when Devil Jin come out, it doesn't mindlessly wreck his surroundings but "searching" for power it can absorb such as Jinpachi and Azazel (Jin felt powerless whenever he lost something, thus seeking for power). I'd like to write about relations between Devil Jin, Kazuya, and Azazel's orb but that's another topic Now, he desires to protect everyone close to him AND he accepted to accept that "devil" inside him. In response, that power reflects Jin's desire and took appearance of an "angel". You can google it, Devil Jin's wings resemble more to *fallen angel* wings- contrary to Kazuya's which resembles devil wings. It shows that Jin is truly a kind child while Kazuya wants to spread his childhood hatred to entire world. This power grows stronger because Jin no longer hate himself (his mishima blood and devil gene power) and he *desires* to be powerful enough to save entire world from Kazuya. I won't claim any of these are wrong or true of course. It all started just as a random thought of why Devil Jin's main outfit has a dark angelic wings while his alternate white wings outfit make more sense to the design but contradicts his "devil" persona.
