Growing up is realizing Jin was in love with Xiaoyu all along, he just have to push her away becoz he doesnt want her to be in danger and now in Tekken 8 he gets to finally be with her. ❤️

I felt he was always focused on revenge that he never cared about having any type of relationship romantic or otherwise. 8 is all about Jin realizing that that isn’t the right way to live his life and him opening up to those who love and care about him.

He cared about her in the canon even before by warning her about Heihachi (it was T4 i believe). Jin had to resolve his own issues so he couldn't get to her, so Xiaoyu searched for him (the pain 😭). I didn't think Tekken would go with that romantic route but I'm very glad they did, they both deserved it.

Because we didn’t get a lot of actual scenes people filled in the gap with this head canon that Jin treated her like an asshole, despite the fact they haven’t seen each other since he left and she said he was a kind boy. That’s why she’s so confused about him in tk6. And then the stuff we do know about them he’s usually being protective. This game Xiaoyu straight up says she was afraid he had changed from that kind boy, but he hasn’t. He is treating her just as he had last they were together. So, he’s still the same Jin she loved.

This warms my heart. For so long, Jin kept Xiaoyu at a distance because he didn’t want her to get involved with the Mishima’s family feud. Even when he lost his way, Xiaoyu’s faith in him never faltered and her resolve to help him never stopped. Xiaoyu certainly touched Jin’s heart and soul.😊

I think is more than that. I think it's Jin realizng the value of his friends and that how his actions affected all of them. So this time, he's no longer going to push them away, instead accept their company. He realized unlike his father, Jin had it good and that by throwing it away, he was becoming worse than the very thing he hated. So this time, the life he has left, he's no longer going to take it for granted.

6:40 This is a pretty big moment for Xiaoyu not just because she finally tells Jin her true feelings but that she admits that she's _always_ loved him after several games and a (non-canon) movie being in denial of it And it all ties in nicely to not just Jin's character arc but the story's theme of self-acceptance and opening yourself to others for support

They’re usually next to each other in anniversary photos for the game too so the fact people didn’t expect Xiaoyu to protect Jin or them to be a solidified canon in the game is surprising to me lol

That's just Japan, its culture and how they deal with target audience for a product. BN know they sell mainly to young men and it's a thing there to play it safe with certain themes to not risk alienating the players. In Japanese terms, Xiaoyu straight out telling him how she feels and them holding hands is already quite remarkable.

Im very happy that Xiaoyu take this lead. She is the original and PIONEER Tekken Character after eversince I first played Tekken in 2002 alongside with Jin, Nina, Eddy, Anna, Kazuya and Hwoarang...witnessed her grow from a girl to a woman! Now she was in loved with Jin so nice to see both of them the Pioneer Characters since 2002. ❤❤❤

It's strange that the three Mishimas had such a romantic ending: Lars with Arisa and Jin with Xiaoyu. And Kazuya is Jun? Hell, it's the complete opposite of Heihachi, who couldn't get along with his wife, killed him, and then cheated on her.

Yes but actually no the reason why heihachi killed her wife wad because she was consume by the devil Gene he tried to save her but for him death was the kind option for her AND their child AND the he went an had other child to see ir It was him who had the Gene that destroy His family

I love tekken and played the tag tournament 1 first when I was younger. I ALWAYS paired Xiaoyu and Jin together! Something told me that they should be paired together in those games. Literally iconic duooooo

Watching the scene where Jin and Xiao are walking through the forest and Xiao shares her dream to open up Xiaoyu Land and Jin's dream was to protect Jun and Yakushima's beauty, I got the feeling that had Ogre not attacked and caused all this turmoil in Jin, I'd say Jin would've spent his life working alongside Jun with her Wildlife Conservation efforts

I admit I was never the biggest fan of this ship, but with Tekken 8 and all the development these 2 had. The bond between Jin and Xiaoyu made me a fan of this ship. even if there were times that these 2 did something, it's just wasn't enough, but with Tekken 8, It all changed and made me be a fan of these 2 together.

i always think the modern romance of three kingdom as relationship between China, Japan, and Korea. Despite being in entertainment industry war till this day (showbiz & idol, animation, games, toys, etc), i really like how Tekken portrayed them through Jin, Xiaoyu, & Hwoarang. the best i can say among every similar portrayal attempt in other IPs & franchise

Xiayou was one of my favorite tekken character alongside my mains (the Chang ladies). Watching this epic story and character interactions makes me feel really bad for Julia and even Michelle (who holds the pendant that awakens ogre and i believe has an impt role in tekken 2) was not included in the base roster.

So at the end of story mode they planned a road trip together? 🤭 By the way, since Kazuya is not dead and he's freed from his Devil, I feel like there's a chance he could become good again, especially with Jun's influence. Since we know Reiner had a devil form, perhaps she'll be the big bad of Tekken 9, avenging Heihachi's death. I know I'm reaching but imagin Kazuya and Jin work together with Jun and others to take her down 😭😂 That would honestly make a good Tekken 9 story mode
