Tekken Series (Including Tekken 8) - Fun Facts, Hidden Details & References. This fighting game franchise has a lot of Easter eggs. All the information was gathered from official sources & Tekken community.
This is Part 3 of the series, please check out the previous episodes here Part 1 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8r-WTq7a3Tc.html Part 2 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TIk0SJjzlBU.html
Another fun detail: In the Tekken 4 opening, Heihachi is seen wearing a tiger coat. Meaning that after he killed Kazumi, he turned her pet tiger into clothes.
He been gaming. Some cut scenes from earlier games show him in an arcade. I think some of the game booklets also gave that detail as well if I'm not mistaken.
Kazuya recognizing that Paul isn't how he used to be, especially seeing as he was on equal terms with him, is genuinely so sad. The only thing I hoped for Paul in Tekken 8 was that he would kind of "regress" to when he wasn't an absolute idiot, which seemingly was put to the forefront once again. Such a damn shame Character wise, Ogre's killer remains a buffoon.
I partly think they turned him into a gag character cuz he wasn’t really designed well to begin with. His quest to be the strongest in the universe? There are so many Tekken chars stronger than him, that if they wanted to, could realistically kill him. So I think they made it more of a joke cuz it kinda is.
@@ShiftingCloudsYTPretty lame to do so. Obviously he wouldn't be the strongest but he used to be one of the strongest. Dude beat Ogre and tied with Kazuya at some point. Just keep him pushing for the strongest without being a joke.
That’s all I really want, jus for Paul to be what he meant to be. I’m tired of him being a joke character. This man held his own with the Mishimas. This man beat Ogre. Like bruh give us the real Paul Phoenix, not this guy who wants to fight aliens and bears and be the so-called toughest in the universe, give me the real Paul Phoenix back.
-Another Fact: Jin uses "Kimi" when he talkes to Xiaoyu. "kimi" is a very close way of talking with someone and shows their closeness. While Jin talks with Kazuya, Heihachi and so on the mostly uses "Kisama" which means "bastard". Xiaoyu on the otherhand uses "Keigo" when she takes to Jin. "keigo" is a respectful way of talking to someone whos older than you. - All people close to Jin have a Bird as a smybol= Hwoaran Talcon, Jun Dove and Revan, Xiaoyu phonix - Yggdrasill (The name Lars did give the rebellion) is the worldtree in the norse mythologyie and brings all gods together - Leo uses the male way of talking in the german DUB ( ich glücklicher - i so lucky - male - female would be : ich glückliche) - Xiaoyu has move named after Jinrei Wang - All Mishima (read the Book the dark couse of the mishima) have the Kanji for "jin" and/or the Kanji for "Pachi" in their name. Yes even Kazuya.
The reason Jin is the only one in the intro while you have Devil Jin as a tag partner is due to the fact you can switch into Devil Jin during gameplay, it's the same input as Kazuya's devil transformation but it uses the TAG button instead of 1+2. The pair also have unique win outros.
The first time I saw that picture of Yukio Mishima's eyes I immediately thought of Kazuya's T2 vs screen. On top of their appearance and their familiy name, they might even share the same philosophy, as the Mishima family in Tekken follow both a traditional martial arts and military based life; that would be something I'd like the future Tekken entries to expand upon.
@@A-B101 You’re correct. Kazuya’s philosophy in T8 very strongly aligns with Yukio’s. Kazuya would be like Yukio’s favorite person ever with his strong reliance on fitness, perseverence, and honor; outside of the fact that he doesn’t seem to help others very much.
I never knew Mari Shimazaki was responsible for Jun's new design in Tekken 8. That kind of explains why I feel like the costume looks a little too "loud" for a woman of her caliber.
I remember the last fact. Kazuya in a really cringey way says "You killed my mother!?". I still have no idea to this day why that trailer had English voices lol.
I’m honestly surprised that the Honda S2000 in the first TTT wasn’t just for show! Did some searching around the internet and Namco really made wonderful renders of the S2000 along with Lee.
Harada has a tendency to pull things right out of his ass. Like how he said Leo is a girl, only to go back on that statement, & how he didn't consider his characters as actual characters until the god awful Blood Vengeance film came out.
Also, "Ganryu's fantasy" explains why things are the way they are in those games. The sponsor for Tag 2 is Chanko Paradise, Ganryu's restaurant franchise, and his fishing boat is one of the stages. King II and Armor King II are buddies in Tag 2 despite only having negative interactions up until then because that's how Ganryu knows King and Armor King. Julia is much more prominent in Tag 2 than any main continuity game and gets an entire alter ego because Ganryu cares about her.
@@DigiCount King II & Armour King II are only buddies if you put them on the same team. In both of their endings (as well as Marduk's & Jaycee's) they are enemies. With that logic, Yoshimitsu has forgiven Bryan (not that Bryan cares much for it). Julia already had a connection to King 2 through the latter's 1st story fight in Tekken 5, they most likely gave her the Jaycee gimmick because after Tekken 6 there was nowhere else to take her character. Also, a lot of the endings are canon. Not all of them, but the wrestlers, Steve, Leo & Alex, Roger Jr., Eddie & Christy (just to name a few) are canon Ganryu having a stage means nothing to support that claim & him having a sponsorship could very well just imply that he is a successful business man. If this really was Ganryu's fantasy, it would be a lot more degenerate. Just think about Ganryu's character for a second. In Tekken 1&2 he's after Michelle love, that's okay... 17 years later in Tekken 5, he's after Michelle's daughter, Julia. PLEASE LOCK GANRYU UP
Tekken is one of Ed Boon's favorite fighting games, besides his own. Patrick Seitz, who voices Bob in Tekken 6 onward, also voiced Scorpion in MK9 and MKX.
10:02 For Alisa's WS3, can also cancel before spinning by pressing/holding Back immediately ! Turns It from Ballarina move to Gymnastic move (Needle Pose). You are also able to cancel each spin up to 5th one by Holding Back. (Game does not mention this, please add !)
Seeing that letter from Kazuya to the player made me sad that I didn't get to experience the magical moments of earlier Tekken. Could you imagine some kid getting it and just being stoked that Kazuya Tekken sent him a personal letter? That's so cool.
With Alisa, before the fight starts in the loading screen, press square, triangle and x at the same time, she will appear holding her head (Tekken 6 only)
Similarly, when you win a battle, holding 1+2 (T7, I think for T6 was the same input) her head will fall off at the end of the cutscene, but you have to keep pressing those buttons before the win cutscene starts (T6 and T7 still have it). Also, during gameplay in T6, if you have the battle chest/upper body (any color) and do Up + 1 + 2, she'll do something with her head and a bird will appear :)
The Jack "Laser counter" is hitting 1+2 as they're getting fried and they regain some of their health back. Not doing so causes them to go haywire from the electricity where they do the windmill punches.
I knew most of the facts, but it's always good to know something new. 1) Unused Tekken 4 voicelines was so surprising for me. 2) Xenosaga. I really wish to play Trilogy, but i didn't got a slightest chance sadly. The message from Kaz, was funny. 3) I didn't knew that you could restore a little HP in survival mode in T4 with Yoshi! To think i still keep learning something new!)))
We don't know if Lili is the youngest, many characters have "unknown" ages, like new Kunimitsu who is most likely younger. Also reminder that Marduk is 28 and Feng is 26, they both look at least 10 years older lol. Tekken character ages are an afterthought, I hope no one is taking them seriously.
Kinda funny you mention Miguel. Cause His Tekken 6's VA is actually Liam O'Brien, the same VA behind Gaara from Naruto & Akihiko Sanada from the Persona series. What's weird is his Battle grunts are carried over but his language is changed to Spanish
(5:55) Man, that sound for acquiring a new item in Death by Degrees is so satisfying! Also, for those of you who never played, the man beside Bosconovitch in that photo is Lukas Hayes. Nina's Tekken 8 Rage Art being named after her spin-off game puts a big smile on my face. Fingers crossed for a remake!
The effect of the blinking Yoshimitsus is caused by the game teleporting one Yoshimitsu to both locations you see him in, but they do it every single frame. This goes by fast enough to seem like 2 Yoshimitsus, but slowing it down even slightly would break the illusion.
Might have been worth mentioning Jin and Devil Jin's special tag animation, which is derived from the way Kazuya and Devil would tag out normally in Tekken Tag 1.
Something to note about the Jacks' laser counter: if you try to attack them while they're going haywire, they'll use P. Jack's power stance to defend. Likewise, if you try to hit them with a second laser while they're still going haywire from the first one, they'll crouch under it and attack by using their sliding tackle. Also, you know how in Tekken Tag Tournament 1, when you hit someone with True Ogre's fire breath, they do an animation where they spin around, raise an arm and then fall face down? It turns out there are exceptions to this. Specifically, Bryan Fury and the Jacks can take True Ogre's flames without falling to the floor. In Tekken 3, this also applied to Gon, but in his case, he was also basically immune.
10:16 we also had a coupon for church's chicken at the end of the game manual in the console vers. Unfortunately, by the time we discovered it, it had long expired.
