My favorite interaction is when she goes backturn while - and i just grab, easiest 50 damage of my life. Stops them from trying to go into backturn too.
Last time I fought her she rolled under ark blast and b4 both in the same round. Db2 really the only way to hit this girl 🤦♂️ Thanks as always for the Lars videos Niko!
I look for Xiayou players to do a back turn transition and immediately df+2 them in the back. If it doesn't send them flying and I'm in DE I follow through with 3 to knock them out of AOP. Usually they adjust after the first attempt and try to Cali roll. I block, b+4, and blue bolt for a full back turn combo.
I'm a ling player who got this in recommended - mr. croft is in fact one of the best lings. she had hyp in 7 but it was much clunkier and only used for setups, in 8 they gave her a bunch of new transitions and the low. the mid used to be so plus on 3steps it would guardbreak (+24) (but only accessible if she gave up her wall combo) the main option she has to track her weak side is a handchop low, db2, which is +5 on hit and on block leaves her -8 in backturn. very similar situation to post-cali roll. lots of people autopilot a punish because 'safe' lows are so rare the other important mid to mind while she's in bt is rds1+2. it's hitconfirmable on both its extensions but you have to show you're willing to duck the high heat engage extension or else it's free +3 for her. if you start ducking then the risk-reward of the move is much worse. and you have to watch your getup options. she has lots of traps if you're predictable, especially if you like to stay on the ground, or hold back or tap up to stand immediately. she has fewer, more committal, and lower reward ones for techs (though she does have them) finally, the only major piece of anti-ling advice I think you didn't mention (since you got sidetracked from punishment by ub3) was that it's important to know your character's specific punish for firecracker (aop 3+4). I don't know if lars' typical punishes Just Work or not, but it's one of the weird float-y lows like slides and a lot of people on a lot of characters don't know how to get their reward when they do block it is ws2,3 jailing on block? asking for a friend. : )
You might have to test the backturned parry after cali roll. In T7 i remembered it being buffed at the end to parry knees and elbows that wasnt part of a hopkick
