Hey felt like I was the only one! Trying to get back into tekken when the last major game I played was tekken 3 and father of 1 with barely any spare time. The sheer knowledge base of the community these days is nuts. Managed to get to yellow ranks then stalled because I only know about 40% of all her moves with muscle memory. Thanks for the video. :)

Picking up Tekken 8 as the first Tekken I take seriously. Glad to see that there’s an extensive guide for the character I want to main. Saw only combo videos and other specific videos were out but not a big guide like this. As a Tekken noob, I wasn’t sure where to start with learning her neutral game. Thanks so much!

This is the most concise guide on Ling that I have found so far. I recently picked up Tekken8 and let me tell you it is a VERY far cry from the beloved Tekken3 that I grew up with. Ling Xiayou was the only fighter I played and I developed the majority of her skills. That was more than 20yrs ago and picking up this type of game again after zero combat gaming has left me way more than just a little rusty. Tekken8 is a dream. I love all of the features and ways to play. However I am definitely at ground zero learning to play Ling Xiayou again and I find it difficult the majority of the time to combat others and their brute force. I will learn again! I suppose this is a good time to fall in love with a new character on the roster, but I'll always come back to Xiayou. Thanks for taking the time to put together such an awesome guide.

I've been looking for a character to main, and Xiaoyu finally felt like the perfect one. This video is a godsend, and it will be my literal bible for the next week. Your thoughts are so well articulated and you convey the utility of everything you are saying so effectively. So many guides I've found take so much information out of context, but you really inform about the purpose of moves within the context of her gameplans and situations in a way that is very intuitive to understand and start putting into practice right away. The quality of this guide is absolutely phenomenal, above par with anything else I've watched for this game so far. There is probably enough information in here to digest for months or even years to keep improving. Man, great job. Even if we know most of them it's just good to have it summarized. Thanks for the great work for the Lingnation! You did not mention about probably one very important thing which is regenerating her Heat after 3 steps in HYP. This is pretty amazing addition to her offensive and defensive game as well. This is the way we can pressure turtles to reach us out and at the same point power up our way in with heat moves.

It's my first Tekken, but I commited on others fighting game. I decided to play Xiaoyu and the biggest issue I face with her is her startup. It seems that most of her attacks have more frames than others characters. But she is super strong in whiff punish as people never guess if it will be a low or a high/mid incoming and her ability to dodge by using the stances. But it make her harder to play than many characters in my opinion. And I feel like I have to land combo on every opportunity as opportunities are hard to take with her. I didn't finish the guide yet, but I'm sure it will be helpful already after 10 minutes watching. Thanks !
