@@PerfectScrewUpsYoshimitsu has always been a hit or miss wit his designs (looking at you T7). Thankfully, this is his 3rd best design in the series (T3 and TTT2 being 1 and 2).
@@princesszelda8577 Idk if you're trying to make a joke, in which case the way you're going about it would be very weird. In case you aren't making a joke though - Goat stands for "Greatest of all time".
@@psychee1are you bots or are you serious? I also think that nothing comes close to tekken 3 yoshi or tekken 5 alt costume. Mechanized space ninja sounds like something a 8 year old would say is soo coool. Guess the design is pretty cool overall definitely but i miss the bionic stuff that yoshi always had
I remember Spyro and Tekken 2 were the first 2 games I got with a PS1 when I was a kid. I recently turned 30 and I don't even own a console anymore but this came up in my feed and the character names, the sound effects, the trick moves all came flooding back. Nostalgia hits hard, but I smile knowing some kid out there now will be able to get lost in the lore and in learning all the little quirky moves each character has, just the way I did and will get so much enjoyment from the Tekken franchise as me and you did.
I wish my cousin was still alive so he could witness this, he was a Yoshimitsu main since Tekken 3, I remember him getting 100% achievements on Tekken 7.
Standing applause to you TEKKEN 8 Dev Team! I was waiting for this reveal for quite some time! This Yoshi design brings me back to the Legendary T3 design that I love! Hope for a color option to have an alt look that resembles the T3 model's! Digging the vibrant new color too, it is just the nostalgia-factor kicking in fully! Can't wait to jump into the full game on release! Keep up the great work!
First time came across Tekken 1 at an arcade and fell in love with Yoshimitsu…. Never enjoyed playing with any other since then. Now waiting for 8…. Almost there!
I love this new wave in fighting games of our beloved characters reckoning with their past decisions, failures, and demons both literal and figurative. Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, and now Tekken are certainly growing with us. I've been a Yoshimitsu main since I was 7, and it's amazing to see Tekken going just as strong after all this time.
Yeah it’s about time his sword ACTUALLY started stealing people’s souls/life force/energy in some meaningful way, even if it’s purely visual. I kind of hope it’s integrated into his gameplay however as some kind of useful attack or ability. That’s sort of what I picked up on from seeing his gameplay, but my theory could always be wrong. Who knows?
@@HardDanceShuffler10 basically, Yoshi's sword, which is also called Yoshimitsu, is a living thing that demands that he keeps feeding the souls of strong fighters (can't remember if it's strong fighters, or just people in general) into it, and if he doesn't continuously keep doing that then it will devour his soul.
Yoshimitsu looks amazing with his combined moveset from Tekken/Soul Calibur and his rage art; and love his rivalry intro with Bryan after the events of T5!
the weird part is that there are speculations that the predecessor must be killed by the new yoshimitsu, and also has to sever an arm owO as you can see in the soul calibur 5 yoshimitsu, he is holding a decapitated soul calibur 4 yoshimitsu Owo;;
@@laprune7077 Immortal? The name and sword are just passed down to a new successor. There are three different people who are called Yoshimitsu, one in Tekken and two in Soul Calibur.
@@slimthugsta2k2 "we would like for the mystique to stay forever" weird that he just tried to speak for everyone. While I too like the mystique, I like the idea of at least giving us some more info while keeping them mysterious, perhaps making them even more so (the whole "the more you know the more you don't know" thing)
It would ruin the character. Not everything needs to be fully fleshed out until any creativity or originality runs dry. Especially if we're talking about something with mystique as a core part of its essence.
I think they should play with more lore to him. They could say that Yoshimitsu is indeed a race, explaining the lots of different models trough time. And maybe putting one of them as the final boss. That would be cool!
The entire rollout of these characters and the amount of respect Bandai seems to be putting into the source material this time shows how committed they are to this game succeeding.
@@eddymetalTekken Tag 2 failed spectacularly. Harada had to beg for Tekken 7 to even get greenlit. Bamco originally had no intention of continuing the series. So, despite being hugely successful previously, the franchise was actually on its knees a decade ago.
I love Yoshimitsu ... He was always so freaking awsum and love him when he cross worlds to Soul Calibur ... Love when he does his sword dance😂😂 he's gonna be a deadly foe
The Yoshimitsu skins can be a hit or a miss depending on the game. This one looks like a combination of the two Yoshimitsu skins of Tekken 3, and it looks phenomenal!
Yoshimitsu is always one of the coolest and most fun Tekken characters to watch. His new design is great, it’s very clearly inspired by his Tekken 3 one and I like that he seems to have some Soul Calibur moves now too. Which is a good move seeing as the future of the Soul Calibur series is up in the air.
You can blame Tekken for the death of soul calibur hopefully it we get a new one because i love SC6 which still need a damn Rollback Netcode hurry up Namco!
Is it just me or does this feel like a blend between T3 Yoshimitsu and SC II Yoshimitsu? (Mainly, the color). Either way, really cool to see what they've done with him this time around. Love that for his finisher they really leaned hard into the Samurai angle, probably the most cinematic out of all the ones shown so far.
TekkenTag 1 Jin netsu Ewgf , Laser Cannon , Dewgf Combo works vs Julia and small characters. Normally it never works vs them but it does when he's on Netsu for some reason and even then its quite hard I first done it in the year 2000 at Casino Arcade in the uk 1p side, true story
Playing this as a kid .. now looking how far the game has come in the last 20 years wow graphics are amazing. Yoshimitsu still doing yoshimitsu things lol havent played in years but might have to pick this one up!
I remember being 10 years old, sitting with Yoshimitsu in Tekken 5's practice mode and discovering all sorts of stuff. He was just so different. My kid brain was amazed that he could fly and use a sword.
This is, without a doubt, the coolest Yoshimitsu has ever looked. He’s been my favorite character ever since Tekken 2 and GOD DAMN he just keeps getting cooler!
You can tell they decided to lean heavily into the more demonic design theme that he had in Soul Cal 6, and give it a more modern and cybernetic style. And it’s really dam awesome. Might be my new favorite look of his.
When i first got into fighting games when i was younger, I played Yoshimitsu for the first time in Soul Calibur 4 and I have always loved his move sets/combos. They were so unique to me. I'm about to be 30 now and I still get hyped seeing him in Tekken as well.
Love the fact that in the design choice: there's a visual homage to his Tekken 3 model.. which was the most iconic model in terms of outfit, voice and theme music (imo), well done Bamco 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
They have NEVER once missed with Yoshimitsu's design, he always looks so damn cool dude. And that stage is just super dope. Welcome back, Legendary Swordsman! 🎉
This is the saddest story I have ever heard. Please accept my thoughts at least when I say I'm sorry you didn't get to experience previous Tekkens in your entire life, especially during a period we might call 'its Golden Age'. Life can't be harsh sometimes. Enjoy yourself with this new Tekken as if it were your last one. Hopefully it brings with it its ultimate quality and heritage.
honest question. outside of its superior dodge mechanic, why DO you play soulcal? i loved it as a kid, but its mechanically so shallow and uninspired next to tekken@@Not_Ciel
@@phillystevesteak6982Soul calibur > Tekken anyday. I knw u didnt ask me but Tekken doesnt make sense to me you can send a grounded oppoent flying into the air with a standing jab that didnt even physically connect I dont get it. And Soul calibur stands out because its a weapons focused fighting game while tekken is mostly hand to hand
This looks like the best version of Yoshimitsu in years aesthetically speaking and his move set looks a lot more fluid in the trailer. Let’s hope he plays as well as he looks
@@johntravolta8389 Yes, we need all the gimmicks lol but i am not sure how they will balanced. They might not have them all for that reason. He still looks great. I just loved all his gimmick moves, he was alwaya the most interesting character imo since tekken 3 for sure...
@@johntravolta8389 I think id rather see him be more balanced, so that he could actually be usable in higher lvl play. We barely got to see him used in the top tournaments. Why not just make him a tad OP....Why nnot have an S or A tier
Agreed. And the worst is any intro with Azucena. I swear, I can't stand her one-note "coffee is my only personality" persona... Leo's intro with her is just cringe.
@@joelbalbuena26yep, soulcalibur vi sold well, bandai namco always release tekken for first and then soulcalibur, we will probably get some info at the beginning of jenuary 2025 after the tekken 8 hype cooled down
@@joelbalbuena26 yeah I think so! They usually alternate releases since it's the same company and they don't want direct competition. SC6 didn't get announced until Tekken 7 was in it's second season of DLC.
I know it’s been a while since he was shown, and the games out now, but we still gotta appreciate how this is the best Yoshi design since Tekken 3/Tag 1.
Yoshimitsu is my all time favorite Tekken characters of all time, and this is the best look I've seen in this game. He basically looks like his Tekken 3 design, but all futuristic.
Thats how it used to function but they changed it after tekken 4. You used to be able to rob the opponents attacks like death fist or electrics and use it against them 🥴
