That main synth sound is what made that beat. The first producer I ever heard to use that sound was a producer out of Memphis TN named Slice Tee in 1995. The very next year “Sho Nuff” dropped in November of 1996. That space age keyboard riff was created on keyboard synthesizer called a Roland Juno 106. However Jazzy Pha made it popular. Still One the best underground classics to this day. Timeless!!!
I remember hearing Sho Nuff for the first time at club in Dallas Tx called “The Shit”! I was 15 in 9th grade and me and my best friend had fake ids(shout out to BIG T BAZAAR for the ids) and use to tag along with her older sister (who was 18) to the club scene! The club was so damn lit when that song came on! EVERY BODY KNEW THE RECORD WORD FOR WORD, the unity in the club was so unforgettable!! I’ll never forget those days!!! Parking lot pimpn, lacs with the bucket seats, hydraulics, Pat n leather shorts and outfits, capris lol!!! Mannnn this new generation have no clue!!
Hold on wait a minute man Jazzy Pha made that beat shidddddd bruh a fucking genius, bruh put the south on fr jus off the sound and the lingo in that era I was a kid hearing that song everywhere damn good song and beat salute to y'all 💯💪🏾💪🏾
Amazing what songs legends pass on or don't initially like but they do it anyway and it's a smash! Ball and G not really feeling Shonuff, Andre 3000 didn't like So Fresh and So Clean... crazy! But they're artists and able to deliver regardless for the people
I first heard Sho Nuff when I was 15. Then it was Tired of Ballin! Tela been my dude ever since! I was given first album from a classmate. Played it everyday!
Sho nuff is the song that created the River River ... it was the song he was doing the River River too when jubilee stop his car in said that’s the new dance
Gangsta Boo’s Where Dem Dollaz At sounds a lot like Sho Nuff. The baseline and other sounds. I am not saying they stole. I just want to know how that was allowed.
Might be the greastest Strip Club Anthem of All Time 5. Pop Dat Pu**y.. 2 Live Crew 4. Like A Pimp.. David Banner & LIL Flip 3. Shake What Ya Momma Gave Ya.. Poison Clan 2. Salt Shaker.. Ying Tang Twinz 1b. Get Low.. Lil John & the ESBoys 1a. Sho Nuff.. Tela & 8ball MJG
💯 and I would slide gangsta boo’s where dem dollas at in at #6 since it was like a woman’s side of the sho nuff song almost a sequel when you think about it same beat Paul and J used/sampled
Terrance Jackson I had to go back and listen to twisted again and I think sho nuff fit better commercially as a first single. It did so well and then tired of ballin came out. Should’ve still released Twisted tho.
