Got this radio here off of the internet, kinda non-functioning. The problem was the stuck AM air capacitor (grease turned into glue) and the broken dial strings for both bands (there are two scales, the tuning on FM is done via adjustable coils, also, when on SW the FM tuning knob can be used for fine tuning). The capacitor was the easy part, the damn dial strings - a horrid nightmare, there are three of them, one was still okay, the other two got me wasting half a day on them, and... the AM pointer goes opposite to the actual tuned frequency, but screw it, I'm not touching that dial string again :)). Otherwise, the reception is pretty good, no complaints there, the radio is solidly build, the sound is room filling, rich, with enough bass, and a lot of highs, the 13x10cm speaker is the original one, in good shape, does its job perfectly. The radio works on 5 D size batteries, external 7.5..9V or on 12 v from a car, in which case it had to be connected to it via a special mounting bracket. In car mode, via external speaker, the audio output is doubled, up to 5 W RMS. Full germanium sweetness, it has two huge output transformers and for the external car speaker connection it taps to a different output transformer winding.
I had also to improvise an antenna for it, since the original 1960s one was long time ago broken.
Overall, a good radio, worthy of the 60s-70s Telefunken reputation.
