Thank you for this software. Garmin VIRB Edit is so bad with regards to syncing GPX files and the video. Your software made editing my video so much easier and saved so much time
With the demise of Garmin cameras and their assocated gmetrics and software (Virb Edit), I thought capturing telemetry of my motorcycle video was lost. GoPro is incompetent to duplicate Garmin's telemetry software. Then found this fellow's work and purchased. Sorely missed the lean angle gauge found on Garmin's software. APB indicated it was coming. Waiting is over with the latest realease. Terrific effort. Fantistic software. Thank you and carry on.
Congratulations on the work! It was just what I was looking for. According to your video it seems to be very intuitive. Let's see if that will be the case for me. :-)
Top top top , un programme vraiment complet. J etais a la recherche d un programme pour utiliser ma gopro9 et apres quelques recherche et l aide fourni par mail un dimanche a 19h00... je suis vraiment content et recommande vraiment ce programme. Merci telemetry overlay .
- Does Telemetry Overlay allow combining the video and data of multiple GoPro files? - Can you specify distance traveled, and also adjust this (e.g., subtract X miles from the start)? - Can you specify a starting and ending point for the video output that's produced, or must the output be the entire length of the input file? - If you can specify an output file that is NOT the entire length of the input file, can the path of travel start and end with the start and end points of the shortened output file? These are the sorts of questions that I have, and a trial version would allow me to find the answers. I currently import my GoPro files into another product that I've been using for a few years, but the development and support for it seems to be almost non-existent lately; I believe that company is concentrating more on selling data acquisition hardware, and neglecting its software. Telemetry Overlay looks like a very nice product. USD 99 seems like a reasonable price, given the work involved. It also seems like a high enough price that many of us would like to first experiment with a trial version, to see whether it meets our needs -- perhaps a version that puts watermarks on the output files (which is what some trial versions of non-telemetry video editors do).
Hi! A trial version is planned but will still take a while as the development efforts are focused on features for the full version. To your questions: - Yes. It merges consecutive video files and their data automatically. Just select them all when loading the video. - Yes, you can show the distance traveled and trim the beginning and end of the gauge so that it only computes a segment you are interested in (see Gauge Trimssing in the advanced tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zfaWz_uZ5as.html ). You can't directly subtract a number. - You can trim the project before exporting it (See advanced tutorial) - Yes. If you trim your project in the "Project" section, your paths will only show that part. If you trim in the "Export" section, the paths will be full. A third option is that, if you have video files that span X minutes and load data from and external source (for example a watch, phone or GPS tracker), instead of trimming the gauge you can expand it, so you can show your current position in a short video but still see the entire path of the day. For example.
@@TelemetryOverlay I am looking for a trial version too. I would like to buy it but I would like to see how is it working with my footage. Is there any money back guarantee or something for a few days? Thank you! ( I have Insta360 One X)
This looks great. Quick question: Are the gps path map overlays included or do we have to sign up for a service? The demo map in the video says Mapbox which is a paid product. Thanks.
😀👍 This looks like something that I can use for my future driving videos. Do you guys offer a one-week trial or a money-back guarantee? I have a couple of questions that a 7-day trial would surely answer. My videos can range anywhere from 10 minutes to 60 minutes, and I want to know how long it takes to export with those overlays integrated. Also, does it support 4K? Thanks!
Hi. Currently there is no trial version, but can you send an email to app@prototyping.barcelona to discuss other options? The software does support 4K (and higher)
What do you mean with "overlaying as metadata"? Do you want to overlay the data visually on top of the video? Or record it as hidden data alongside it?
Hi, this program looks like it would be perfect for my needs, I will be working mainly with footage from my motorbike & quadcopter, I have downloaded the trial version to hopefully test over the holidays but was looking some info, My main PC is a dual boot drive offering an option of running Windows 10 or 7, is there a preference to which OS i install telemetry overlay to, does it work equally well on both or does either offer any advantages? If I purchase the full version can I install it on both and use the same license key on both OS's or will I have to choose one and stick with it? Thanks from Ireland 🙂
@@TelemetryOverlay Hi, many thanks for your quick reply, it is the same PC but in the end I only installed it on the w10 drive as it had more free space and the software worked great. The only single bit I couldn't get to work was the GPS time stamp, it always starts a 00:00 instead of the actual time. Its probably just a setting I haven't got turned on. Thank you very much for this software, have just purchased the full version and looking forward to finally using my GoPro as it was intended, Thanks again 🙂
@@paddycunningham5011 Hi. Select the time gauge, go to Trim Timer on the bottom left and disable the first trim point to disable timer mode. Feel free to send an email if you need more detailed assistance.
can i also add highlight to the route - for example highest topspeed - or picutre brake, --- like in the relive app... relive app basically does a gps animation
Nice Soft. I got the trial, but it has been expired, because I had no time for it. Where can I get a discount code? I don't like the quik soft. Sorry, but I don't thrust GoPro: The desktop software is end of life. I'll not buy the quik-fix. So Telemetry Overlay is the next option, but I use it for me personally, not for others.
Hi, will the software display telemetry real-time over video from a sensor array? I'm building a custom video camera with 8x zoom, magnetometer/compass, gyro, GPS, and 1,000m laser rangefinder. This is the kind of software I need for the GUI. Thanks!
Hi. If by real time you mean display the data on top of a video stream, that is not possible at the moment. For video post production, yes, if you are building the system yourself you can save the data following the Custom CSV format described in the instructions manual
Hi Juan, is there the possible to add more lap time with the best (like the app race render with the start and final point for the counter time) The tool it looks very interesting, what is the price for telemetry users? thank you ;)
Thank you for this. I have one question please. Is there a way to overlay Road Chainages ? Ie: If a roadway is 1000m long / 1 klm, is there a way to indicate every 10m on the GPS map ? Ie: I start at 0 and drive to 460m and stop, is there an ability to show that ?
the insta360 GO2 camera does not have GPS. but i use a Garmin 530 for cycling. is there still a way to show the telemetry for a particular short entire
@@john-johntorres5472 Yes. You will probably need to sync the data manually if it does not start at the same time as the video, but should not be a problem
Hi, Is this App extract telemetry data (convert the telemetry data) recorded by insta 360 one X/R/X2 to formats GPX, KML, geoJSON, CSV, JSON? I 'd like to overlay the GPS data on Google Maps / Google Earth. I don't need Telemetry Overlay app, just need extractor for insta360.
I don't have a specific tutorial about that yet. The keys steps are: - Recording to GPX file (or convert to GPX if your tracker records to a different format) - Recording the video normally. If you can record the moment you start or stop the tracker, to help with synchronization - Syncing both video and data. You can see some tips for doing that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zfaWz_uZ5as.html
Hello , I'm interested if you can add a second telemetry file to the Video, so that on the map (upper left corner you have two dots on the map). to see if I'm racing with a friend, my position and also his position. Nice would be also to see distance between us in meters and als time difference between us. is this possible ? Thank you
Hi Florin. That is a great idea but it's not possible to do it automatically, for now. You could have two dots by creating two GPS Path gauges, one from each data source, and then hiding the map image of the one on top and manually aligning them, but the program won't do it automatically. That's how I did it in this example video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xNMLiaYlebc.html
Yes. It's compatible with the Mavic Pro 1, both with its video subtitles and through CSV files downloaded from AirData. See this tutorial for an introduction: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gsokof2ZJhs.html There isn't a demo version yet. Send an email to app@prototyping.barcelona if you want to discuss other options
if i buy the Telemetry Overlay . is it the full version so i can do my dji and my go pro videos . like wspollack asked can i edit 2 or 3 stitchings together or only work on one file . hope the day is going good . thank you
This one is not for After Effects. It's a standalone program. You can create your gauges. Export them as a video with transparent background (alpha) and import them in any video editor, like Final Cut
For non-consecutive videos with a long activity file, you will need to create separate projects and synchronize the GPX file to each one. You can then join the projects as a single export from the Export Queue, or if your synchronization is correct automatically you can automate the entire process with the Batch Loader feature (within the Export Queue). See this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A5EscKNO6fs.html
@@TelemetryOverlay thanks. Is there a trick for getting them in the right order? They constantly load in reverse order - despite naming hierarchy or the order they’re selected in. Is there a way to switch them once loaded?
@@CrowEaterMotorSport they are sorted based on the metadata. If that is wrong for some reason (probably a problem in the metadata), you can sort them alphabetically by enabling that in the general settings, but you will need to start a new project and import them again
@@TelemetryOverlay thank you, that worked. Processing from .360 seems to mess with the meta data. Thank you for adding this functionality. It really elevates the tool and makes it so much more valuable
I have two concerns: 1. I am being asked to provide my full address before I'm even told what the payment method is. i.e. I don't do PayPal. Just bank transfer. 2. You are based in Spain, but the prices are in US dollars. Why?
support the app 360° Videos from insta360 one x2, so that i can edit the view angle? i think, if i import i result of my videoedit the telemetry data are lost
Hi Uwe, I'm working on a tutorial for Insta360 cameras. What I recommend is: 1- Reframe your video in Insta360 studio, but do not trim the beginning of the video 2- Import the reframed video in Telemetry Overlay 3- Import Telemetry FROM THE ORIGINAL VIDEO FILE (not the reframed one) in Telemetry Overlay. Let me know if you need more assistance. I hope the tutorial will be ready in a few days
@@TelemetryOverlay yes, it works. I'm looking forward to the tutorial for the insta360 one, especially how to do it with the special effects without losing the telemetry synchronicity. Thanks
***edit, looks like a GoPro firmware update screwed up the telemetry data on my GoPro, loaded a video I took last month and it worked fine.*** Just installed it and it doesn't appear to work with my Hero 9 video footage. GPS is enabled, the program says it loaded the GPS data, but none of the gauges do anything when I load a video into it.
Can you send me an email? (reply to the confirmation one). There is a known problem with some Hero9 units that GoPro said will address this month with a firmware update. I can give you more detailed information by email. Thanks!
@@TelemetryOverlay I loaded an older video I took last month on it and the telemetry data loaded. I'm guessing the firmware push they did after that screwed up the telemetry data. Now I'll have to wait for another firmware update to fix it.
Though the G meter is completely off, and it would be nice if the volume had an option to just lower the volume instead of just a full mute if you click the volume button.
@@SkufMcGruff I will add the volume control to the to-do list. Regarding g forces, it depends on how you interpret them (basically, if you take gravity into consideration or not). This will have more options in future updates, but for now you can try the "Acceleration GPS" and "Acceleration scope" (which lets you select the axis you want to show) gauges and see if they are closer to what you expect. GoPro have scheduled the GPS update for later this month ( gopro.com/en/us/news/hero9-black-launch-updates ). Regardless of the firmware, the signal improves if you follow some best practices (which is not always possible, of course) community.gopro.com/t5/GoPro-Metadata-Visualization-GPS/GoPro-GPS-not-working-Performance-stickers-and-telemetry-FAQ/gpm-p/419554
@@TelemetryOverlay Gotcha, thanks for the info. And yeah I always follow best practices for GPS. It worked on the videos I took prior to the latest firmware update. Hopefully the upcoming update fixes it. Just a bit sad all the motorcycle riding I did this weekend didn't get GPS data because GoPro messed it up.
Hi Nerivaldo. In what way? Were you unable to test something that's important for your use case? Feel free to send an email for assistance. Reply to the confirmation one you received
Will this software create these particular kind of guages? See this sample video which I really like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8T5uh_f3pAg.html
