This is Britney Spears original version of Telephone. Lady Gaga originally wrote this song for Britney, but since she turned it down she recorded it herself. This is the leaked demo version by Britney.
there is a ring to britneys voice (no pun intended) its on a different realm ex.: "BABY" "club" "on meh" "busy" "HEAR you" "FAVOURITE" "sorry" "danceflooor" "anymoooore" "stop telephoning me" these were so sharp and bright in contrast with the more melancholic production helps a lot too
@TheRawr75 i was just repeating what the britney fans were saying "omg gaga sucks bc britney has more sales"......OBVIOUSLY! Gaga's career's only a little over two years old
This could possibly be salvaged with less treble and some more bass, raise the volume of the vocals so the music doesn't over power them, lower the pitch of the voice Britney doesn't have to sound so soprano all the time, this song really wasn't made for a soprano like that. Add some bass to the voice, maybe multiply the number of vocal tracks to make the vocals stronger. It could be made to sound better and even good but Gaga does perform the song better and it's more suited for her. People you need to google her song Rebellion if you want to hear Britney record a song with her real voice, you'd be surprised at how much more depth there is, her label can't stand that she naturally sings in lower notes.
do people forget that Gaga actually wrote the song for britney, and it just didnt reach the final stages of completion??? Britney is amazing and shes been around for over 10 yrs!!! so clearly shes been doing something right :D
@@rbgmmc because her voice is messed up from the iconic baby voice she’s been doing, it wasnt natrual. she was branded with baby voice and if u do a baby voice, especially for singing it’s gonna mess up your cords. that’s why she’s been lip syncing. it doesn’t take away from her talent
@@Harry-om5lm girlie the song wasn’t rejected because of the conservatorship, otherwise the song wouldn’t have been recorded. The label decided they didn’t want the song anymore because they had already picked other ones. At least know how to back up your claims
@@cantthinkofaname7525 Britney and Gaga work with different producers and apparently Britney's producers knocked it back. I think it would have been a bigger hit if Britney released this song
@@A.J.8.8.8 are you serious? Do you even know what great pop culture moment the collaboration between lady gaga and beyonce was back then???? It‘s not even possible to make Telephone more iconic!!! If Britney had released it on her own, the song never would have been anything near the success gaga had with that song!!!
@@koboljanmecke4591 do you even know who Brintey Spears is!?!? 🤣 she has created the greatest pop culture moments of all time. She didn't need to have anyone feature on her songs. Maybe you're too young & weren't around, so maybe do some research on chart numbers?
@@A.J.8.8.8 We all know who Britney Spears is, she is the greatest popstar of all time, but what made Telephone that Iconic and Successful was the collaboration between Gaga and Beyoncé, if Britney would've released it , it would've Been just another Britney's pop hit like Gimme More or Hold it Against Me.
DCgamer because she's owned by Jive Records. She has no control over what she records and doesn't record. I'm pretty sure that was part of the reason she had her 2007 breakdown.
O M well not exactly the reason. Drugs, divorce, delusion...more like. Britney executively produced Blackout, and personally hand picked the producers to work with, including choosing which songs made the cut! she had her record label in her hand at that point, but it went downhill fast following VMA performance. After Blackout she lost all creative control on her albums, except on glory she kinda made a point of choosing what sound and direction she wanted, with the help of her A&R Karen, Riri’s favorite girl. Had glory been edited down (it could have done without a few songs) and released a year before it was (it was recorded over almost 3 years), it would have done better. Britney knows what she wants she should be allowed to execute it perfectly without interference if she’s going to have another Blackout!
@@Anonymous-xm8ir well it is a fact that one of the reasons of her """breakdown""" (besides her personal life + paparazzi) was her management holding her back and not giving her enough freedom when it came to her career. this song was intended for circus but they already had phonography, during this era she did not have as much creative control
@@DCgamer She literally has no control of her entire life. If she can drive, when to eat, any of that because she's under a conservatorship. Research the freebritney movement.
That's stupid. Why would she even record it if the record label didn't want new songs???? Britney was making "Circus" and needed songs, Gaga offered, she recorded and didn't think it fit well on the album, so it didn't make the cut! Probably for the best since the production is horrible on her voice. It's not about rejection, it's about picking.
I love both versions of this song equally- because despite being the same song- they bring very different energies to it- Gaga is more fierce in her performance and there is definitely a lot of power and anger behind her- Britney brings an almost melancholic energy to this song and it feels much more emotional, despite it being a dance type pop song. Also, I know a lot of people dislike the auto tune in this demo, but I personally love it. When comparing the use of auto tune to the lyrics of the song (she doesn’t want to talk anymore, feel any more she just wants to hit the dance floor) it’s almost as if she doesn’t want to be human - hence the robotic sounding voice - I also like the way that the use of auto tune and more naturally mixed vocals go back and forth - shows an inner conflict but also sounds incredible and blends perfectly with this song. Overall I just love it!!!
Agreed! I was just thinking it, how in this production someone involved finally had the idea of linking form and meaning. This an actually good use of auto tune, indeed!...
Jive didnt refuse, Gaga decided to keep it, Rodney gave the real version that's why he and gaga fought, He wanted the song for Britney and gaga didnt even bother to notify him...
if this were actually completed, released and promoted it without a doubt would’ve been another one of britney’s greatest hits. this is just a demo and it’s already amazing, a studio version would’ve been a masterpiece
this is a full demo... she did her own background vocals. a really good demo. not half assed, its a good place to start. B is the full package. Emotion and soul in this demo.
The melody to this song's chorus is so emotionally charged... I've heard it in three different renditions. Lady Gaga's, Britney's, and VenetianPrincess' parody, and every time, the chorus doesn't lose that emotional punch. So powerful.
Even if Gaga's version has better vocals, i think Britney's version triggers more feels to me. It's like anxiety on the dance floor... Weird but no other songs gave me that sensation.
Well this Britney version is an unfinished demo so it would harsh to critique her vocals and I love both versions, I love the way Britney sings certain words like Anymore and Dancefloor and I love Gaga’s vocals too
@@oompaloompa1840 exactly i make demo songs too and its like 5x different from the original when it is released because there are alot of additions and arrangements added in the final version especially when it is mastered.
@@FR-dr6tu I disagree, it would’ve been a hit with Britney, I mean I’m dying over her unfinished demo vocals, if it was polished and released I would’ve gagged
someone released a remix version of gaga and britney somewhere i found it and it sounded good was much better than Beyonce's version or shouldve added 3 of them in 1 song.
the verses would have sounded more like the chorus, lower amounts of auto tune and clearer. this is only a demo which is most likely the first and only one created for this song as the vocals are complete auto tune and not polished/mashed at all. if the song was fully recorded and released as a single it would have been bigger than the original.
i think this really couldve been britneys #1 hit if she hadnt turned it down, but funny how things turn out. i love gagas version, and will always hold britneys demo close to my heart
Lol it's okay tho. Because her song toxic is way more iconic than this. Lol go watch the movie Madame web 2024 they praise Britney Spears's toxic song lol
People who say oh autotune HAHAHA no fucking shit..... Even lady gagas version has autotune.... And this is just a rough demo prolly the only time she sang it....
This was not autotune, it is vocoder. Autotune is meant to not be noticeable, just correcting pitch. Vocoder is an intentional sound/artistic choice to make someone’s voice sound robotic. Both have their place is music.
@Jon Purisima actually she had a great voice when she was younger. Her record label made her change her “sound” so she’s have this “baby” voice, which actually destroyed her true voice and abilities.
@Jon Purisima yeah I’m just gonna go ahead and put this video in. Maybe you’ll learn something 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oYEAaEWpJmE.html
@Jon Purisima All I’m saying is at one point in her life she really did have a great voice. Maybe not anymore, but she USED too. BTW, disregarding facts, is itself a delusion. I’m providing you with evidence which you’re choosing to ignore. Who’s actually delusional? 😂
Feel It Twice nah pero a Britney le ponen por defecto porque todos sabemos que finge su voz si sabe cantar pero con el tiempo de hacer esa voz de bebé se le daño
Who recorded and edited this? Because to me it sounds like someone that wanted to show Britney’s real voice. There are some notes that on a live performance would allow her to fully sing 🥺
+living4britney do you like kiss her (Britney) butt as you always piss people off by telling the truth. you always deny the truth. so you can shut up. We know it's a demo but we all know there is autotune as her voice doesn't usually sound like this. get your facts in order before you have a go a people.
