Yet another prototype mechanism for an upcoming project, can you guess what it will become?
Hint: still whimsical.
Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced using Ultimaker Cura 4.12.1, and 3D printed in PLA on Ultimaker S5s.

Excellent. They have bidirectional thrust in any direction; they can extend at any angle including downwards, and retract upwards. There has to be use for that.

wow, now that’s exciting. A 2 stage linear actuator. The sky’s the limit.

Hi MicrobyteAlan, Is that a pun (e.g. extending up to the sky)? :) Greg

I would love to see a two chain linear actuator in your style. I plan to cut up a eva floor tile for one.

Very cool! I don't know what it's called, but I think there is a "thing" that would make it go back down automatically when it gets to the end if that is what you needed. Do you know the thing I'm talking about? It's all because of the special thread design on the "screw" part. I've seen some examples of it used in automata.

It's called a limit switch.

Hi LincolnWorld, I know what you're thinking about, they used them a lot in older line printer designs, but It's not coming to my mind yet, I'll keep thinking... Greg
