I can see what it does, rotating motion into linear motion converter, but there are so many possibilities. Waiting on pins and needles. 👍

Hi MicrobyteAlan, Yes, this mechanism transfers rotary motion to a variable length shaft, and there are indeed many applications, stay tuned! :) Greg

Genious ! I struggled for whole days to get this double movement of rotation and elevation with a single motor.

Thank you, and I'm truly pleased to inspire someone! Thanks again! Greg

A semicircular lift mechanism? Maybe for marbles to run on a track? I have no idea, but it looks like it works rather smoothly

That could be... :) Greg

One duck per rotation, spraying the second color on all but the tail and beak.

Uhhh, ok... :) Greg

@@popzct It pairs well with the previous duck-painting mechanism that you chose to repurpose. I'm connecting the dots, can't get nothing past me.

I aspire to be as good a CAD modelling as you. Do you calculate tolerances for the parts to fit or is it trial and error (I suspect not!)
@popzct

Hi JamsterJules, That is very kind of you to say, thank you very much! Yes I do calculate the tolerances for the parts. Depending on the mechanism and the color of PLA I use, I allow .1mm clearances for press fit, and .2mm clearances for slip fit. Thank you very much again! Greg

Is the axel you screw in, metal or also 3D plastic?

Hi Mskvaer, The axles in this video were 3D printed in Ultimaker Black PLA including the threads. Depending on the color I 3D print them, most often the threads work fine right off the build plate, but I times I use a tap and die to clean them if they're too tight. Greg
