Of course sleeping neighbors hate it at 2:30am😂 It’s their land. Fair and good. However A good neighbor would reconsider these times at night. Both sides have an argument and good neighbors work together not against. It’s one neighborhood. I hope it gets resolved peacefully😢

I don't think the neighbors care who lives on the land, but what they are doing on it. It takes nothing to be respectful of others. I see more and more people only caring about themselves.
Regardless of who owns the land, it's rude and disrespectful to light off fireworks in a residential area. Especially after midnight. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
When brush fires build into wild fires, who will they blame? The fire department? The police? The homeless? Protect your property. No one else will. Use of force against arson is self defense.

If you or I purchased land anywhere near homes and then ran a buisness or caused a nuisance like this it would drive down surrounding property value. The color of the skin wouldn't matter. Now if the Indians instead of opening a firework stand built real-estate really nice homes next to those houses and it was nice and quite it would increase the value of the surrounding properties. Wouldn't matter what the color of the skin is. Money only sees the color green.

A friend lives on the county side of this and says it's a nightmare living there now. They're lighting fireworks, playing insanely loud music, driving four-wheelers, etc at all hours of the night and into the morning. Tribal police do absolutely nothing. It's insane that the tribes' council member is trying to pull the racecard on this.

If the European settlers that established the original 13 colonies didn't fight the British monarchy for their independence in the 1770s, France, Spain, Russia, or England would've established it as their territory. Beginning in the 15th century, after discovering that there was a North american continent, it was inevitable that any one of the European countries were going to plant their flag here. The indigenous population was doomed 500 yrs ago to be conquered. It could've been much worse. Other countries had plans to completely wipe them out forever. But here we are listening to fireworks at 2:30 AM. Because this is reservation property, we're held at bay and we have legislated law that keeps us from stopping this activity. So anyway... I think it's pretty irresponsible of the news station to report an allegation of threats made to a neighbor without actually verifying first if it actually happened or not. If you haven't verified it yet, then you shouldn't even mention it. Instead it seems like the news station wants to stoke more hostility by spreading possible rumors. Whether that is the news station's intention or not doesn't matter. Don't report shit unless you know for sure if it happened or not.
People continue to amaze me in finding new ways to be selfish and annoy those around them. Who doesn't realise that fireworks at 2am every night will disturb people? Ok over a weekend or the odd celebration but all the time? Maybe they're trying to drive people away so they can claim more land or buy houses in the area cheaply?
Naa Muckleshoot fireworks starts June to August right now it sounds like a war going on it’s sooo damn loud. I don’t have to leave the house or neighborhood to see an amazing fireworks show but it won’t slow down until August has been for the last 3 years that I’ve been here

Buncha grumpy people need to move inside city limits. There are Fireworks all over rural and unincorporated pierce county all hours of the night and always have been. Even during football season when Seahawks play.
They need to be respectful and limit the fireworks to further away from peoples residences and stop at a reasonable time. I feel bad for those people who have to try and have peaceful enjoyment of their home with having to endure such noise. Certainly its got to stop. What's going to happen if one of those fireworks catches a home on fire or worse yet, someone gets hurt? The tribe would be responsible in every way. Geez. Where is the human decency and common sense?
I live in Thurston county and near the reservation and don’t hear hardly any fireworks going off so yes, it is this tribe being disrespectful if neighbors. I will,probably hear some increases tonight and of course tomorrow, but not late at night.

The State government should have seen this coming when they gave the tribe the land. There isn’t a tribe in this country that isn’t heavily involved in selling untaxed alcohol and cigarettes, gambling, and fireworks. It’s not about native traditions, it’s all about the $$$$. Just let the tribe know that their behavior is going to be considered next time they come asking the State for something. A lot of these tribal rights are exploited by a small number of hustlers.
I went to a political fundraiser and the head of the Puyallup tribe was there. All of the politicians in the room were busy sucking up to him. It was almost comical. Just like any other group with a lot of money, they have totally bought our lawmakers.

Fireworks that started on July 2nd are the reason my cat ran away and never came back a few years ago. I learned my lesson. Now I lock them in from the first to the fifth.
Idk. Im a fireworks junkie. This place is open 24-7 for a few weeks. I think the natives deserve their right to do what they want on their land, which includes providing a fantastic service to folks like me. However, its total bs to allow these areas to do what they do so close to neighborhoods at all hours of the night.
Those neighborhoods are on their stolen tribal land, sooo🤷♂️ If my ancestors were driven from their lands so invaders could build neihborhoods i wouldn't necessarily be polite to the people who inherited it. Natives have had far worse things than foreworks happen, a littlw fireworks is harmless fun

My gosh. I can’t believe people are still moaning about this. This is so normal around here. They do have new laws but they will never be enforced. It’s only a couple times per year. He wants to suggest it's because the tribe is taking their land back and some people aren't comfortable with that; What does that have to do with blasting fireworks all night disturbing the home owners/neighbors? If the tribe wants to be good neighbors, they need to set quiet hour limits on that land at least until 4th of July. I used to live across from the Muckleshoot casino & land where for weeks before 4th of July fireworks going off every night; but it didn't bother me. I see it as a once a year thing; but I can understand how neighbors are worried about fires and some don't sleep well with all that noise.
So...the reporter can't even be bothered to follow up on the Tribal Chief's claim that this is going on elsewhere as well but no one's complaining about it or calling media? Because if that's true, then yes the Puyallup Nation is being singled out for doing the same thing others are doing. Which isn't fair. If, on the other hand, this is the only location with this noise & traffic level, then the neighbour's complaint has some legitimacy. It still doesn't mean they can do anything about it tho.
Oh I so feel for those individuals.. I used to live in South Auburn right next to a tribal land & once a year it was HORRIBLE! Fireworks all night long & LOUD! I have PTSD grew up in Los Angeles as a kid. There needs to be an area were if ppl want to get their fireworks on then they can, while others can live in peace. Also the pet dogs, fireworks freak them out. God bless them.
They are lucky they aren't not doing that next door to me. I live AG registered land. No noise ordinance. If they wanted to pull that shit I would wait until 3-4-5am right when they are going to bed drunk and start mowing my lawn. I wouldn't let them sleep if they would not let me. My lawn would suddenly need daily mowing also.

Simple solution for the mayor make it illegal for the possession of fireworks. Steak a cop out in front of the tribal land and every time somebody leaves that land pull them over and take their fireworks away and slap them with either a fine or a light sentence. I bet things will come to an end in a matter of no time they say we have no say on their land they have no say on this land.

I wonder how many of the 'celebrants' have ever read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. They're just overgrown children that want to make a lot of noise. The best (smartest) states ban fireworks sales to the public and hold appropriate fireworks displays in safe areas, done safely. These kind of backyard fireworks end up getting someone hurt, or pissing off the wrong person. Not to mention all the animals you're terrifying.
The problem is people set off fireworks which Start fires Embers end up on roofs Pets are frightened Veterans with PTSD are frightened People shoot off guns and the bullets have to come down somewhere No consideration for anyone but themselves Most people in this country do not even know why the 4th is a federal holiday, but they love their fireworks

People who like loud noises for the sake of loud noises are juveniles. It's all fun and games until one of their kids loses a hand, or an eye, or a house gets set on fire. And isn't this EXPENSIVE? Who is paying for all that? And lastly, you shouldn't go out of the way to piss off your neighbors. You never know who is at a breaking point.
