Michael Serebreny I haven’t explored the aspects of Karma and therefore not an expert in the field and this is the definition of karma when I Googled it (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences. From this definition karma does not have amigo do with forgiveness and in order to forgive you have to break away from the karma way of living.
He's saying we're better than you because god chose us (racially superior) and you're dumb. Do what we say and don't think about it. By God, don't be a such a fool.
Love is an attitude, not a feeling. What ppl confuse with love is a feeling of joy related to interaction with somone, and addiction to it. Apostol Paul described what love is, and it is all about perception and attitude, specifically excluding "me" part in that attitude.
Nobody entices me more than Rabbi Manis Friedman to want to be of service too. Christianity teaches that men's hearts will be failing for fear; Judaism teaches Jews are serving to make this a better place. It's not hard to see which heart is lighter on a scale.
Stop being negative. That is the right thing. Tesla was correct, we live in a electric magnetic earth. Like a magnet or giant battery. So negative energy can only get negative output. Positive energy positive output. Negative can not get positive, positive can not get negative. So once we stop reflecting negative energy, and start giving only positive, then we will only then see positive results only. Energy never dies, it is transferred from one object to another. It is like the movie it's a Wonderful Life. One man can have a huge impact on so many lives. If I interact with 100 hundred people in a day, and those 100 interact with 100 more each, then that is 10,000 people that my energy has been transferred to. So if I inact a little kindness into those 100 hundred people it can be transmitted into everyone they encounter. A little thing as holding a door open, or saying something nice. Then people feel good, and still have faith in humanity. Then that interaction can allow them to be kind to someone else. It is contagious. So be kind to everyone you meet on a daily basis, it will go a long way in the chain of human dignity.
lawrence tendler . The rabbi is a wise man and brings a lot of meaning but he does not recognize that God is beyond doing duties. The point he misses is in essence our free will to chose good and find joy in serving God.Thats why he struggles with the concept of true love and equates it to a feeling that is meaningless. Doing God’s will through our own free will = joy in loving God.
Marriage is always to be announced to the society in which the pair live so that they know that this post is occupied so that people should avoid the post and keep their distance. That is why marrying openly is necessary
Did God create us to serve God’s needs and do Mitzvahs to those less fortunate? God is not Necessarily Jewish or anything else of human decent. God is God and if he is God he is all good and all love. The rabbi has it all wrong. Because he is so proud of his Jewishness that he chose to forget that the one thing God has no control over is our FREE WILL. When we give our Love it is our free will which ignites his breath within us to serve him. The rabbi is drowning in the commandments of having to do duties. Loving God is not work. That’s why the rabbi did not refer to joy when serving God because he does not understand the concept of free will. The Christian perspective of why God created man was that through our ability to recognize good from evil we chose to do good and freely enjoy doing the works of God and this is our essence of meaning. A person that willfully recognizes God also finds it far easier to forgive. Only those with a scarcity mentality will try box God unto who is important and who is not and what the roles of certain people should and should not be. In essence we are all Jews by choice beyond blood and to be a true Jew you are a person with a free will and your free will let’s you find joy in serving and loving God. How could anyone even think that we are shackled in casts by bloodline rather than free will.
doing good is doing the duties. we have free will to do or not do the duties. G-d "needs" us to do the duties, because he wants to bestow the ultimate good on us.the ultimate good is Him , and that's how He allows Himself to bestow goodness on us, by doing the duties. jews got the 613 mitzvahs given at mt. sinai, non jews got the 7 mitzvahs given to noah after the waters receded.
Divine love is what God prefers and not many people understand that it's what God prefers. You are explaining it well Are you sure you're not a Christian ☺️
i was brought up with these same ideas except that my mother wasnt jewish nor were we religious how can this be i dont follow the traditions im just a common man listening to rabbi is like listening to my mom thank you
Very interesting discussion. What a shame the background noises spoilt much of it. One would expect a little more respect towards the rabbi, participants and viewers by not creating an atmosphere of a busy kitchen!
I think you dishonor God when you reject his provisions and gifts when you say we don't want anything from God. What if you had a child and you wanted to brighten up their day so you as the Father says "look there is an ice cream stand over there" expecting the kid to light up and ask for some but instead the kid says "I don't want anything from you". Wouldn't you be upset or would that make you happy that you saved some money?
@Glinkling Smearnops Well, my view is that pain and suffering come for numerous reasons. Some from self infliction, some for correction, some to make stronger , and maybe some as a test or other reasons. But I maintain that it is not for God's pleasure. You have to have a pretty cynical view of the creator to hold that view.
Jewish scriptures say time and time again that -obaying the commandments is for blessings and covenant benefits, that includes a good place in the world to come. and that -disobaying them results in curses and loss of of covenant benefits
God gave us a very special gift called free will. Choose God by serving those who suffer and then you will have the strength to bow before your creator
You got it wrong mister Friedman. The problem by telling someone I am chosen by God, is not jealousy. It is because in that moment the person who is not cousen is being put down and you are puting yourself higher then him or her. So he or she will fell humiliated, and will see you as arrogant people. Becouse if your are cousen by God what is then with the rest, is the rest of humanity unimportant to God? And if like you claim, God needs humans and spacialy Jews, Why did he not made the hole world Jewish.? If he needs his creation, wouldn't it had been better to make all humankind Jewish, so he could fulfill not only his needs bether, but he would also increase the possibility to get what hi wants?
I realize being called the Frozen People, I mean Chosen People, is often to simplistic for most people to completely understand. It's hard for people to believe that just because one is chosen doesn't make one better than anyone or anything or even closer to God. But it does create a burden. And I believe God intended us to have it as such. Why? Because the Jews where the ones who where given the Ten Commandments. Plus some other stuff we won't get into in the comment section of You Tube. And God want us to need him, so he made us Chosen, lessening the burden, ironically.
The dog will always love you, I suppose you chose your dog but not your brother. That been said, you do not consider your brother as a brother in the 1st place. You have serious issues
Are Jews lucky? Because they are chosen their responsibility is greater. You are lucky too, did God not create you with the same breath of the Holy Spirit? You are also special. The question is not if God chooses you but rather if you choose to love your God.
