Friends, this is a temple style Nei/Ghee payasam made with ghee, jaggery and rice. Additionally finely chopped coconut one with roasted in ghee and cardamom powder is also added. Here we used a special raw rice which cooks faster and creates a dollop. Such raw rices are suitable for it. Don't use boiled rice. And coconut milk is not at all necessary. The rice cooked with jaggery has a very good taste and Maa Durga likes it most. So we get this prasadam at Devi temples and we oblate it during Devi festivals like Navaratri. Try it during this Navaratri and oblate to Maa, be blessed. Happy navaratri to all.
Ingredients:
Raw rice: 2 cups
Jaggery: 5 cups
Fresh coconut pieces
Cardamom powder
Ghee: 1 cup (100 ml)
