Temple was by far the best map if you just wanted to bounce off walls a million times, which I liked even though I did not know how to tech.

Really curious The Adventure of Link does not receive the same amount of praise compared to the other franchise games

​@@hermanfranke16821:14 Definitely a harp. I play acoustic guitar myself, and their strings don't sound like this, even if you're picking flamenco style (which is pretty fast), strums sound totally different and arpeggios only sound that clean on electric guitar.

Temple's great for learning the game and messing around, and is basically the nostalgic GOAT, but trying to have an actual fight there when the other player just runs around for 10 minutes makes it clear why this stage doesn't improve with increased player skill.

you know what it was? the fact that smash is a 2d platformer, just like zelda 2. they probably initially had the idea because of the game's adventure mode which is probably the closest thing we'll ever get to an official zelda 2 remake.

The original theme is Palace Theme from Zelda 2. This is the remixed version 🙂

you're god damn right it is. i'm gonna go play Zelda II right now. it's a good ass game that didn't live up to the hype of its original, and then the next game was even better than the original, so it landed in just the right pocket to be forgotten about. but for those of you out there listening - go play Zelda II. it's different and difficult, so you may dislike it. but you might also love it.

If they wanted to make it more accessible to current gamers maybe they could make a rule in the remake where the player respawns at the beginning of a palace if they get a game over in it (like Great Palace already does), and if they die in the overworld they could go back to the last town they were in instead of North Castle. Throw in some better hints about the hiding places of various overworld secrets and it would probably be just fine without lowering enemy difficulty or attack patterns. They could always add a Difficulty setting when starting a game, too, so maybe a different difficulty could have reduced enemy damage (or increased for a challenge). Personally I like the game the way it is, but I can see how it would be harder to get into now than it was back then. Of course, if they remade the game with changes to make it easier but also included a "Classic" game mode that keeps the original rules and difficulty, that would probably be the most crowd-pleasing solution.

A lot of players first learned to fight here since it's perfect for beginners. No hazards, no moving platforms, lots of different terrain and elevations to work with, and the size makes it harder to fall off (important since early players often take a while to learn how to recover). It's no wonder it carries so much nostalgia. I consider it the single most iconic song in the whole franchise, and being able to put it on actually competitive stages now just elevates it further.

It's great for learning the game and extremely nostalgic, but after you chase someone for 10 minutes it becomes clear why it's not the kind of stage that improves with player skill.
