Thanks!! Do you have any tips on using granular without spiking cpu? I have a $3,000 laptop but it still spikes anytime I turn on granular. Even after changing buffer settings in DAW. Thanks in advance to anybody who responds with any tips.
This Thing scares the crap out of me .It reminds me Clive barkers -Undying Music .Hey john I have one question for you Can you elaborate the properties of vocal samples You used I mean Did you make those vocals acidized before loading them into omnisphere if not what you do with samples to make them tempo synced in omnisphere.
Hi Kawal! If you watch closely at around 5:50 - granular chops the sample into say for example, a single frame of a movie. When things are set correctly, then the "Position" slider lets you move THROUGH the frames. I'm having an LFO play thru the frames.... hope that makes sense.
+PlugInGuru yes i do understand but what if i dont use granular and simply wanna add vocal sample to omnisphere with other effects going on except granular then what to do with thst sample to make it tempo sync and also how to loop samples
Good questions - there is zero technology in the sample engine to tempo sync the audio files that you import into Omnisphere. Granular is your only option and using an LFO like I show above to get audio that sort of plays in sync. Remember you are only able to control the START of the sample and where that sample STOPS with the strength of your LFO. Timing events in the audio file will play whenever they occurred - so if elements are out of time in the audio file, you can't adjust or change them very easily (you actually could if you used a MOD EG and designed a custom shape of a repeating EG so it is in essence a programmable LFO). Omnisphere 2 can read loop points but you have to loop and save your audio file (with the loop points embedded) in an application OUTSIDE of Omnisphere 2. There are zero looping tools inside of Omnisphere 2. You can't even turn the loop on/off. Remember - this is THE MOST BASIC level of sample support you can provide. Any more and it becomes a feature request war and they don't want this to be in competition with Kontakt 5.....
+PlugInGuru I myself requested eric saveral time to put a kontakt like feature in omnisphere because i have tried kontakt and i am not comfortable with that. I feel much control while working with omnisphere.Btw which software do you use for starting and end points in wav samples
