Wow, the 2-to-3 prong adapter!! I have one already. So simple, but it didn't occur to me. Thank you! Many airplanes and hotels have loose outlets. Like you pointed out, the prongs on the chargers are hard and can't (or shouldn't) be bent. The little adapter is easy to pack with the chargers.

They used to make all male plug in cords with the split you could spread which was handy. Twisting prongs in opposite direction is a great idea to create a snug fit until you can replace sloppy outlets. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you so much. I can't afford an electrician. Every other video is just giving instructions to replace the whole outlet. That's not going to work for me. I just have an outlet with one side that's a little lose. Thank you for the easy fix.

This trick does work but is not really a safe way to go. If it is loose, it really should be replaced. I had to replace several outlets in my mother in law's house because they were loose and actually started melting. Loose connection means heat, power being lost and possibly a fire.

Handy tips. I've spread em apart and squeezed em together to get a connection for as long as I can remember, but never thought of these two methods. Seems so obvious now. Thanks a bunch and keep posting good stuff.

Thanks so much! This is a great fix for where we rent. Should we still notify the landlord and should it be fixed?
@mars1952

Mackenzie Deneen Yes notify the landlord. They probably won't do anything but tell them anyway.

I would send an email to landlord before calling or something that would hold up in court in case a fire happens.

Should I stop using outlets where the plugs fall out if I don't want to tweeck them?
@mars1952
@mars1952 7 лет назад
There is a slight risk of fire whenever there is a loose electrical connection due to arcing. You could hold the plug in place by blocking it or by taping it.
@pureenergy5051
@pureenergy5051 7 лет назад
I read that there is a big risk of fire because of arcing. Taping a plug to the outlet will not tighten up the blades inside the outlet. So the outlet is always hot, so there is always arcing? or just when the electricity is being used?
