Hi Alysha, I bought the Surong Yarn 2 years ago from the WISH website. I crocheted a beautiful corner-to-corner scarf out of it and I love it. The yarn is so soft on my skin - gorgeous. An absolutely purchasing recommendation. Greetings from Germany your way
Great reviews Alysha - I got a bit nervous of those unusual yarns lol but I bought some more regular yarns ans other craft items from Temu and they are all superb! I bought a couple of hobby items for my other half too and he was so impressed. It's hard to find things he's never seen before. Your hair looks stunning, by the way. Those braids are so pretty!
The t-shirt yarns do seem very similar to making bias tape or rag rugs....a great way for fabric manufacturers to use up or sell scrap fabrics. The shiny yarn reminds me of what some bathing suits are made of.
I really liked the shiny pleather yarns. The colors are so vibrant - right up my alley! I would make a small purse or clutch with the shiny yarns and maybe some kind of mat with the t-shirt yarn. Thanks for the review! I think I’ll check Temu out to see what else they have.
I am loving the hair in this video. It says it was done seven months ago. This look looks gorgeous on you and I love that you’re doing a tutorial on team because I’ve always been tempted to buy but a lot of times they say this games are so small I’m a full size woman, so I don’t have to buy a truckload just to make a sweater.
I’ve been addicted to shopping on Temu for many months now. The majority of the stuff on there is good quality for the price. the only yarn I’ve tried so far from them is some of their glow in the dark stuff. Thank you for reviewing some of their other yarns.
Hi Ryan's mom Sam commenting... just come across you're channel i love to crochet tought myself by watching RU-vid 😮 i got some of the Green plac yarn but in silver (it was for a Halloween project 😂) but i love it I'm going to get more i think they would make great crochet crop tops of bikini tops for the summer and so would the tshirt one 😊
Thanks for checking these out. The shiny green is cool but I think I would only use it for an accent or fringe...I like the t shirt yarn too but would need a lot to make something
The green neemby reminds me of the 60s plastic raffia that came in weaving kits. The wine colored yarn reminds me of a yarn I saw in the yarn store on nob hill in NM. Same fiber Simb is unique but it looks too busy for most things All in all I think you knocked the review out of the park. And based on you alone I might buy from them if they have natural fibers
I am not so keen on buying from Temu. I always try to make projects from affordable budget yarn, like DK. My last Halloween pumpkin i made using 2 strands of DK. It looks fantastic. Everyone loves it ❤❤❤
I would use it for a bag the shiny ones, put it on my flip flops, man that is some cool yarn I’m going there soon as I can I have to finish watching you
The shiny green yarn I would work up into a bag, and make sure that I lined it with a coordinating fabric to get around the stretch issue. We all carry more than we should, literally and figuratively. The gorgeous red yarn I would love to wear as a cardigan, so that's what I'd do with it. The tshirt yarn is so cool, and I think that i would work it into some round and oval mats for putting hot dishes on the table, i forget what they're called. And maybe some matching place mats and coasters. That would make such a wonderful Christmas gift, dont you think?
So I'm using a yarn right now that's almost the exact same as the Surong yarn you reviewed. It's chain spun. The color is on the outside, almost felted into the polyester chain. Hence the halo. I'm working with Ice Yarn's Picasso. Yes! It is a little bit of a pain to undo when there's a slip up, however it's not as bad as the sequin thread I just got done working with. Actually had to stop to unravel the thread from around the sequin to go back a few stitches (more than I'd like to say, lol).
I started crocheting 3 days ago, so my opinion may not weigh much. I would do slippers in the green stretchy yarn. Would look good, and the flexibility would be great I think.
surong looks like a "dupe" of hobbii's metallico (which I absolutely loved to work with and, despite my fears, frogged spectacularly): a polyamide chainette with a blend of wool and acrylic for the loose, fluffy fibers I'll definitely look it up
I lost count of how many TEMU videos I watched trying to watch a real review! Yours is the first one that someone actually tried the yarn 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Following you!!
Shopping at Temu, just as Shein, is unethical. I know some people are poor and have no choice, but if someone reading this can afford to make better choices (human rights, environment, etc) please consider this❤
While I agree w/amara560, they’re unethical companies in the USA, Europe and just abt any place in the world, some are just not as focus on as others. Take that into consideration.
@@preciousbeautyj1043 Oh definitely H&M and Zara come to mind, but even then they come nowhere near the waste Shein produces. Shein uploads hundreds of new products every single day. It is the shortest trend cycle ever seen and has been dubbed 'ultra fast fashion'. Unlike anything we've seen before
@@amandamiller3202 Great way to throw a wrench in a much more nuanced conversation. Everyone can *try* and do the best they can at the level they can. Just throwing your hands in the air and saying 'everything is unethical and I might as well not try' is not getting us anywhere.
Sry but the first and third I would never call that yarn. It is just some fabric that dont sell good and this is a way to get rid of it for a little bit of money. Besides, i would never buy something from temu, surely there are Bad conditions for workers and something like that.
@@kaylaaa6351 they credit u when the item is broken or the wrong item and don’t have to return them so that’s a plus and their clothes r awesome good quality of course wash them before and let items that have a smell sit out for a few days like i did and its all gone love their tshirts. Cant best their prices!
@@Value1lady - They are awful because they enable fast fashion, waste and hyper-consumerism. Cheap goods always come at a cost that always negatively affect poor workers, the environment and climate. They are also based in China. Their app will gather a lot of sensitive information about you that allows them to spy on you.
Other compagnies like Zara, Amazon, H&M etc are also totally unethical, and the only différence in the price is due to the huge amount of money our countries (U.S, Europe..) are gaining from it, how much do you think they are giving up for the item itself... Peanuts. Temu IS also able to provide such low prices because the items are also made and sold from the same country, China... and yes work conditions and stuff are clearly not ours, but if you think about you made the clothes you bought here.. well sorry, it's the same. I am not defending these work conditions and stuff but it kind of makes me grind to think that the only reason we are "aware" of what is behind these prices and we see our countries shaming these companies is because they are Chinese...
I hope y'all realize most of what you get off Amazon is from China. I watched a Bag O Day video on Temu yarn. All I can say is she acted repelled by where it came from. The double standards about this are astounding. 🙄
Just because items come from China doesn't mean it's all coming from the same place. There's heavy documentation on both Temu and SheIn. Do your homework. Amazon is a marketplace, and sourcing likely comes from Alibaba, where a lot of mainstream brands source from. Brands can communicate directly with suppliers, and not all are China. Some are Pakistan, Turkey, India. Again, do your homework.
