The old gaol museum at Silverton & Penrose Park at Silverton. Also a short drive to Umberumberka reservoir is worthwhile. Just before sunset, take a drive up to Block 10, which is back in town. A sunset photo from here is perfect & you can see the "Pinnacles" from here as well. Check out the old Sulphide St railway station museum. This was the station where trains left for Adelaide as it was a different rail gauge to NSW.
Friendly people my A lol Tried to get info on the town even tried real estate agents like people say talk to them about the do and don'ts no one replies. Might pay to visit I guess some say its a wonderfull town some say stay away the crime rate is too much. Again this is not from locals just people that have been on holidays there. Shame was looking forward to moving there.
