From reseerch, Gladwin means sword-grass derived from the Latin ‘gladius’ meaning sword.

Excellent topic. Always enjoy your uploads and have learned a lot from your expertise. Asarum caudatum is one of our western US natives. Coastal redwood forests and more northerly forests up to British Columbia. Haven’t tried the Asian species but those are quite striking in leaf pattern and those seem to do well for us.

Perfectly timed video!! I was just thinking that my plan of the daffodils giving some greenery under the trees didn’t work out as impactful as I thought!

I have that asarum winter white here in zone 6 USA and absolutely love it...not invasive and what it does is simple to pull out. The orange seed pods are gorgeous.

I'm trying euphorbia amygdaloides as an evergreen ground cover which is doing what I want it to do. I like the foliage and it requires very little from me and just keeps going. So far so good. I also like the evergreen Solomon seal which I don't know the genus or species but it tolerates very cold and requires less than nothing from me.

Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately the only way to deal with it is to dig it out, roundup will work but will take several applications and even then you will need to dig out the leftovers. Regards Stephen

I think the white Arum is beautiful. Also I have grown borage this yr in Ohio. Should I expect it to reseed?

Anyone able to locate any of these species in their local nurseries or online? I'm not having much luck.
@thehorti-culturalists
@thehorti-culturalists Год назад
I stock most of them at my Mt. Macedon nursery Dicksonia Rare Plants. But it depends on where you are as to whether that helps. Regards Stephen
