This is great! I found the game at PAX and am prepping to run my first session. I wanted to hear a play through to reinforce the mechanics but didn’t expect to get so drawn into the story. I love the push and pull of the truths to create more horror and hope. Can’t wait to play!
That's was awsome to watch! Loved the Cajun soldier! You guys need to do this again! Just found your channel and subbed please keep up the great videos!
I really hope you do at LEAST a few more games of this. Most of the games I've seen tend to be more of people battling against the environment and rations rather than dealing with other people or Them. I like the roleplay, and I definitely liked the way the story flowed. Even the downtime of people talking was really engaging
I do appreciate your storytelling and improv skills. I’m not sure you ran the game by RAW. I think the winner of the roll gets to narrate the outcome. You guys had the GM narrate all of the checks. But still it was an entertaining listen.
Thanks Michael! Glad you found it entertaining. I kind of had an idea about what was going on in the game (their first time) and wanted the narration to be more guided. Page 59 states that if there is a conflict roll, the players success can determine the events. You see that happen a few times throughout the play session. Page 59 also states that "if you already have an idea of the outcome of an action, you can simply narrate it" in lue of a roll. I wanted them to feel engaged and seamless in their first experience! Good eye and in normal cases you would be correct. We are never the normal case though! Rule of cool is always fun! Join us next time!
@@juramcclain666 I’m with you as far as the rule of cool. You guys just took a different approach. And I’m not judging you on your fun. I just needed to be cognizant that your game style doesn’t fully mirror the rules as written and the examples that are provided in the book. The players in the rules should have the ability to fully narrate the scene when rolling more success than the GM. Either way, a fun listen.
