Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to today's ten day forecast video update. We're going to look at the weather for the next ten to fourteen days. Day ten will take us to 23rd August - and we'll be able to extend out beyond that with the extended GFS and ECM ensembles (they run to around a couple of weeks) We'll have a look at CFS weeklies taking us into the first half of September at the end of the video...
The heat spike is is easing today today and temperatures will gradually cool down through the rest of the week with northern and western regions looking showers while the south has a lot of dry and warm weather. Looking ahead to the weekend a north/south split looks likely probable but next week all eyes will be on Hurricane Ernesto moving into the north Atlantic - Could we have a hit from the remains of Hurricane Ernesto in ten days time?

Great update Gav, you sound much better. Glad the cat didn't walk across the keyboard while you were filming! In Norfolk on hols, roaring hot yesterday, glorious sunshine and still very warm today. Tomorrow will be somewhat different. I think we are due our share of rain and to give the folks in NW Scotland some sunshine.

Living in south Devon, I should be used to the lows we get but I am not a fan of cool weather. It’s been so windy here as well recently. Hurricane season has something to answer for. lol. If anyone does find this years summer , then tell gav

Thanks Gav. Another lovely day here in South London with unbroken sunshine and the outlook doesn't look too bad either. After a poor start, this had turned into a pretty decent summer though sounds like it's been crap in the North West.

Great update as always Gavin. Gavin I noticed during summer you didn’t do the see how where doing with summer didn’t you start doing that for each season when we get to halfway through spring summer autumn and winter you do a video to see how it’s doing see if it needs tweaking or not. I suppose though you were in hospital during early June so you have probably been catching up with stuff. Thought I’d ask though. Think it would have normally been round 15th July you’d do video normally where well past there now.
