One of the newbie things I did was to sleep the very first night without having a window or vent open just a bit. I woke up to a lot of condensation inside my cozy camper because nuCamp builds them airtight and well insulated. It's amazing how much moisture just one person breathing can produce! 😅👃💦
@@BIKESnSKILLETS I googled and it would take a few days for one person to use up all the oxygen in a totally sealed up small room but you'd get cabin fever before then! 😉
Good info. I’m not an owner yet of a teardrop camper, but I’m currently researching them. Videos like yours are definitely helpful to current owners as well as future owners. Thanks for taking the time to share this valuable info.
me too. i'm researching tabs. my first one. sort of recently retired i am now ready to explore nys's mountains in tent, & cabin camping. next is in a nucamp camper. i can't wait!
I love videos that are succinct and to the point and actually informative. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this out there! We're looking at Nucamp 320s so fingers crossed! I love your re-branding of the outside, will have to see if you did a video of that.
Well done. The only one I would add is: - In storage - Disconnect OFF - The rest of the time - Disconnect ON. Yeah, I know there are exceptions, but most people won't run into the exceptions until they need to do something like replacing the warp core. :)
I am on my second nuCamp T@b 320, and I cannot imagine buying another brand. nuCamp quality and customer service are simply unmatched. The 320 is the smallest of the stand-up teardrops and the 400 is the big brother. I love the small camling spots I can get into with my 320, but the 400 is a beautiful trailer, too.
Jenn, we had the same problem with the tongue jack on our Tag trailers. The tongue would not extract enough for going across steep curb returns and were bent. My fix was to remove the jack and re-straighten the jack, shorten the jack by 2 inches and re-install. With the Boon Dock version this should not be a problem. We haven’t had this problem yet with our 2018 Tab.
I watch a lot on Tab on RU-vid. And this is the first time a learn so much so fast. Don’t stop. I want to buy one next year for my retreat and camping as much as I can. I’m from Quebec and I’m learning English with you also😄 thank you for all
I’d like to know where the overflow happen when on city water with too much pressure (no water pressure controler). I’m in the process of buying a 2021 TAB 320 S and while testing the systems, I noticed water leaking from a tube, just above the jack at the back, driver side. Is this where the Alde system overflow when the water pressure is too high?
because companies are reversing everything without informing you. up means down, down means up. & why aren't trhere clear instructions on equipment? thank you for informing us.
New subscriber ! 😁. I admire people who don’t start out of the gate as “ The Winner”. We all need to begin sometime. You seem like a very common sense lady and I can appreciate every step of someone else’s lessons learned
Talk about feeling stupid, I just purchased a Dutchmen 2004 T@B T2, not necessarily in line with this T@B video but could be helpful as well. When I was trying to get the 3-way fridge to cool, nothing I tried would do the trick. But I found out after a few days, much research and conversations on forums, I discovered that because it is an older trailer, I wasn't pushing the buttons in hard enough! 🤪 Most everything these days take just a light touch but I forgot that this trailer is already somewhat old school with the push buttons. My face was red!
Thank you for the helpful video! I have a 2016 CSS. I recently found moisture under the LVT flooring between the shower and the ALDI system. It is also causing the LVT to warp just outside the shower. I am worried it could be due to malpractice with the ALDI system. But I’m hoping instead the moisture was coming from the AC Unit. If that is the case, I’m not sure how the moisture would get from the AC Unit, below the bench and effect only the sub floor. But it’s better than having a leaking ALDI. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
I went dry camping last weekend. I thought something was wrong with my Alde heating. Kept increasing temp but camper wasn’t getting warm. Don’t forget to press the flame 🔥 on the Alde screen! Oops!
This video is a year old but I noticed three things. It doesn’t appear you used chalks on your wheels and when hooked to the power pole, we didn’t see a surge protector and you didn’t put your stabilizers down on the lego blocks. How do you drive off with the tongue jack down? You have to either lower/raise to get the hitch to lock onto the ball on your tow vehicle, After hooking up you need to raise the jack fully, then cross the safety chains under the jack and secure them to the tow vehicle,. If someone drives off with the jack down, they have not hooked their safety chains up correctly, may have forgotten to hook their safety brake cable and forgotten to insert the safety pin the ball hitch lock. I have a t@b 400 BDL and been pulling it since 2019 with some really long trips so I’m comfortable towing, There are many videos - some specific to nuCamp for setting up and breaking camp. One I watched and took the lessons to heart was do everything the same way each time. For example, when we break camp, I connect to our tow, raise the jack, push a pin through the hitch latch (this insures the latch is locked on the ball), cross the safety chains under the jack and secure to the tow. Secure the brake cable, attach a single side sway bar and then secure a bright orange cord around my trailer jack handle (i use this as a visual to check). I then disconnect, water, electricity. Once everything is secure, I walk 360 around the tow and trailer and physically touch the safety chains, hitch lock, jack handle, a/c vent (no cover), water connection door, touch the power pole and water source (confirm I’m not leaving anything connected), touch rear camera, touch storage door (passenger side) check door, check storage tubs on the front of the trailer. Touching is a trick an old pilot told me - said your eyes will lie to you but your hands never will :). Step back and look at the top of the trailer to confirm the vent is closed. I then pull forward about 10ft and do a final walk around. yes, I agree, a lot of work but we’re pulling a single axle trailer down the highway around 60mph so there is no margin for error if something isn’t hooked up properly. I agree, adding some fresh water in the tank is a good idea. We normally have about 5 gals. We also if we’re on a long trip, will add about 4 gals to our black tank (the 400 has an outside water inlet to flush the black). Pour in some Dawn and then half a bag or so of ice. Great combination to scrub the sides of the black tank and clean the sensors.
I always use ch9cks if unhooking, from my TV, but I don't always unhook from the TV. I don't always put the stabilizers down, especially if unhooking, I use and EMS, not a surge protector, and it is hardwired.
I’m loving the nuCamp/T@G. I’m currently retired and really want to see the sights now that I have the opportunity. Here is my dilemma. My husband and I are purchasing the 2023 Honda CR-V EXL but I’m concerned that it won’t be able to tow these trailers. As you can tell, I’m a newbie. I want to enjoy my travels and don’t want to be limited so I was looking at the new models with the bathroom and outdoor kitchen but am just not sure if it is even possible. I’d love your suggestions!!
I believe the tow capacity for a CR-V EXL is 1,500lbs and you should not tow a T@b with that kind of tow capacity. I recommend no less than. A 3,500lb tow capacity, but ideally, something 5,000lbs and above. A few good popular examples are Jeep Grand Cherokee, Subaru Ascent, Dodge Durango. Toyota Tacoma, and the Ford F150.
Thx for the tips/reminders! I'm glad you mentioned having some water in the fresh water tank as extra weight as it helps stabilize the camper on the road. I know extra weight decreases gas mileage, though. Bad news with today's prices. 😕 🤑 But I also want to have some running water to flush the toilet and wash my hands when boondocking on my way to uCamp so I will be adding some fresh water before taking off cross-country! Will a water truck come around and fill us up at the campsites at Winklepleck?
@@JennGroverPhotography Thx! 👍 I guess I misunderstood the e-mail that said water might not be available until the Monday of the rally ("If you arrive early, water might not be available.")
Tried to contact you on your website but it demands a 'url''....Wasn't important but thought you should know that no one without a website can contact you.
I apologize that you couldn't reach me. I do get messages through my website so it must have been a glitch or the spam detection didn't like something. I will double check, though.
Great points! I did have a case where the shower pan wasn’t draining but it wasn’t the grey tank. I went and used a plunger and with giving it just a little suction ( I didn’t wand to push hard on the pan). The water went down and is draining good now. Still not sure what it could have been. I don’t think it was hair. I will be looking for a soft suction cup plunger. You don’t want to push hard against the floor. But you are correct that in most cases the grey tank needs to be empty.
hi jenn, thanks for your tips. i have been trailer camping for many years although i don't own one now. can you tell me what maintenance you perform on your tab to prevent water damage from roof leaks. i have been looking at these tabs for awhile, i haven't seen one in person which i might do this spring. regards
The roof is a solid piece of aluminum so there is no risk of a roof leak unless punctured. I inspect the caulking, regularly, as you should with any RV.
I just got a used 2015 320s. The tank drained completely on route to my first campout. I'm guessing the previous owner overpressured the water system as you state in point 5. Thanks for the tip. I'm looking through the Aldi manual but would appreciate a hint on where I can reset the valve.
Thanks for the great tips! i used my new 320s last week, i used water pressure regulator when filling the tank then noticed big steam of water running under the trailer(blue color tube). It almost like whole water I filled draining out of it. I found later, the tank was filled actually. I don't understanding why it's leaking.
