TEN is the best weekly EV content period! I can't even think of what 2nd place would be. This is actual EV news (not just opinions like most). It is fast, meaningful and accurate. Thank you for what you do!
Tesla is an American company, it's become really tiresome to listen to so many Tesla haters in the USA. Without Elon and Tesla would we even have a usable Ev on the roads around the world!
I'm tired of hearing musk's stupid opinions. Tesla has been crucial in advancing EVs, but did not invent them & wasn't 1st. I'd like to see Tesla without him, it would be better off at this point
There is no reason to hate Elon Musk! You must be very shallow people that do and to put it in writing so we all know how ignorant of the facts you are. It's really shameful, there is no excuse even if you're one of the lazy "have nots" that are jealous of anyone who has worked to improve their life. Elon has improved the lives of the human race! How many in history can say that? Hate monsters like Putin if you must hate someone.
A couple of weeks back I guesstimated that my MG5 was about 30% cheaper than a similar EU made car. Now SAIC will get a 38% tariff in the EU, which is a shame, but probably brings the price to an equivalent level, unless they absorb some of the cost.
'range anxiety' has completely foxed me! If you drive say 4.5 hours between toilet, drink, and or meal breaks you can only drive (at say the UK average speed of 50 mph) for about 250 miles before needing to stop. Providing you can then recharge to about 80% in about half an hour there is no need for any vehicle to be capable of more than about 300 miles. IF you drive for 600 miles (as the oil companies think drivers should/need to) non-stop perhaps you shouldn't as you risk becoming a danger to others (drivers, passengers or pedestrians etc) ! A simple fact that appears to be missed, especially since most journeys are much shorter and most EV owners can recharge their EV over night. Do those living in the USA realise that to the rest of the planet Mr Donald Trump is a joke and extremely damaging to the image of the USA? Politics never ceases to amaze how unhelpful it can be to the advance of mankind.
Great show as always. I would like to make a request to all EV channels out there from poor people, please stop trying to gaslight us into 28k being affordable when a Kia Soul base model new starts around 21k. Yes it's ICE crap but that price is more of an affordable range.
It's not just the sales price. Look into the total cost of ownership, EVs have big savings in fuel, little to no annual maintenance and generally last years more than ICE cars. Good deals on used EVs now if you can't afford new.
@@beachcrow I don't need to be sold on the benefit the general population does. Also the general population doesn't understand the value of used ev's hopefully getting one today myself.
Do you think you should be given a free new EV?, that's a horrible example after 7,500 rebate the EV would be cheaper, also there's a 4$K income qualified rebate on used EVs. In California the only remaining incentives are Income qualified
@@rp9674 If it comes out at 28k pre rebate then yes that would fall right in line. The problem is the advertising price of 28k will most likely include the incentives to make the price look lower. It's very tricky to navigate, alot of people don't understand how prices and incentives work. I have a reservation for an Aptera which I'm really excited about, hopefully getting a used ev today with the 4k incentive. And no it won't be for free nor do I expect one for free.
People investing in a "green" company which aims to make transport "sustainable" vote against having Tesla do sustainability reporting? Cool guys, real cool!
Look at the latest Tesla sustainability report for what they are actually achieving. In the end reporting efforts need to achieve more than they cost, I assume the board took these requests into consideration before rejecting.
I would like to echo the comments of other viewers that this is by far the best, most professional, well written and comprehensive EV news show full stop. I am disappointed that Rivian did not invite you to the launch. This is truly poor judgment on their part and just reduced my desire for one of their vehicles that I have been seriously considering. Thank you for your work and keep it up!
Chargind speed is a durability debate. You can ALWAYS charge faster any battery. The tradeoff is ALWAYS lifespan. For the manufacturer, charging speed is a DECISION to allow you to burn your battery faster. Even if it's true that somme new technology allow a better durability in this case, the most important for customers is : these batteries will last even longer if chargerd slowly. Every RC competitors have charged at 10C and discharged at 40C. The tradeoff is a battery that last less than 100 cycles. You want to keep your car healthy ? Charge at 0.1C max.
@@LesterSuggs There are no motorcyclists in a HOV lane because we do not have such things in Europe. And i am sure until the Model 2 with FSD comes to market all motorcyclists have gone into retirement anyway. I mean, who can afford such a expensive hobby? Only very rich people. And they are soon too old to even start an ole dirty Harley. Right?
Despite all the drama and hullabaloo, my understanding is that Tesla doesn't have the authority to reinstate Elon's compensation package, even with a shareholder vote. The decision to rescind Elon's compensation package still lies with the Delaware Court, so this vote is mostly just a PR move.
Will the Id2 be AWD? Google says yes. Yay. That Alpine is about as fast as my Bolt while costing several times as much. I like the hot-hatch style more than the demon spawn mix of minivan and hatchback that the Bolt is, but not for that much. Those robot arm plug in thingies are neat, but why not just have a human there to help out? They could even have a small building that sell snacks, has bathrooms, stuff like that. I'm sure it'd be a big hit. Can't wait till all gas stations get converted. Rip out the gas tanks and replace them with trickle (comparatively) charged batteries that then fast charge the cars.
25:00 Thanks for clarifying! I actually didn't get what Trump tried to say! I am not native speaker, but I still think that Trump was jumping from subject to another and that didn't help to understand what he was trying to say. I still think that I got what matters, he still struggles to say anything truthful.
I worry that the Tesla board which is paying itself huge amounts of money as well, is acting like a hedge fund that drains the company of assets and drives it into the ground. Huge payments to themselves and company officers while engaging in layoffs of necessary staff that has to be rectified, is not in the best interests of the investors or the company.
8:10 that took me by surprise. I thought US would be 2nd but I guess TX production is low and VW and Hyundai Group haven’t done much in the US yet. Can’t remember if ID.4 US production started yet or is still hung up. And Hyundai is still planning?
Reading from EU announcement: Tesla will hit 38% tarrif on 4th July for its China imported EVs. Definite stage is four months after (Tesla was apparently the only not-helping manufacturer so far to appeal for getting the invidual tarrif). The invidual tarrif will be 13% to 38%. And this hits fully to Tesla Model 3 sales in Europe, as it is not manufactured in Berlin. Transition flight is the term used with all VTOLs, not only with EV-VTOLs. Ref.: Boeing V-22 Osprey.
@@alanrickett2537 There is no such information. Tesla is currently slated for 21% additional import duties and has applied for individual measurements. As those duties are only starting in December there is enough time to correct them for every single manufacturer. If they want and can of course.
"Reading from EU announcement: Tesla will hit 38% tarrif on 4th July for its China imported EVs" That is simply not true. You have not read anything. Tesla is slated for 21% and the duties must be ratified by the EU members in NOVEMBER 2024.
Please explain to me how it is that Google removed this channel from my feed? I’m subscribed and notifications are turned on. Who determines what I wish to watch? This is very suspicious.
FYI Nikki, the new tariffs are in addition to the current 10% already imposed. Actual wording from EU notice below: The individual duties the Commission would apply to the three sampled Chinese producers would be: • BYD: 17,4%; • Geely: 20%; and • SAIC: 38,1%. Other BEV producers in China, which cooperated in the investigation but have not been sampled, would be subject to the following weighted average duty: 21%. All other BEV producers in China which did not cooperate in the investigation would be subject to the following residual duty: 38,1%. Just add 10%
@@sparkysho-ze7nm Yup! and new ones will avoid it like the plague thanks to her and her leftist cronies. People get what they vote for, just like when horse teeth chased Amazon out of NY.
That "pay package" is actually a stock options package. This means that he will have to BUY the options first... and not being able to execute them for 5 YEARS. - He did NOT receive any regular salary or bonuses during the past 6 years. (While other CEOs get billions in bonuses every year) - Tesla (until recently) never payed for advertising. (While other automakers spend multiple billions for ads) - Musk is the face of the company. Like it or not, he is the reason Tesla is among the most popular publicly traded companies. (While other CEOs are just there for the money with short term goals) - From 2018 till now, the stock increased more than 10x. Manufacturing increased multiple times. If that did not happen, the conditions of that infamous "pay package" would not have been met. - He and Tesla were the sole reason the world is moving, slowly, towards EVs. No one would have thought of manufacturing EVs if it was not for the pressure from Tesla. - Channels like this one, every other manufacturer offering EV options and even massive battery manufacturers... would not have EXISTED today if it was not for Tesla and Musk. WE need insane visionaries like him... unless you want to be stuck with extremely SLOW improvement in technology.
Yeah, that pay package is called “legal tax evasion.” Not paying a salary is just a way of avoiding paying into Medicare and Social Security, and to avoid paying ANY taxes on income. He just gets bank loads with his stock/options as collateral, which because his net wealth is huge, is at very low rates. When those loans come due, he just gets more loans to pay off the old and withdraw more for his regular finances. Every few years, he makes a huge deal about “SEE! I’M SELLING SHARES AND PAYNG TAXES!” Once enough shares are at maximum tax advantage.
@@AnonymousFreakYT True, but also incredibly risky. Remember Tesla was on the verge of bankruptcy at the time. Had that happened, he would have received nothing.
@mrdsn189 Historically the Delaware court has not pushed back against the shareholders. The initial judgement was because the court said voters were not informed properly, which was definitely not the case with this vote.
Repeating the same proposal from the crony corrupt BOD will have the same problems. Plus, Elon's threat to leave and lobbying is an additional problem for the court. (Also the fact that Elon has already started a new company to take AI away from Tesla and this company has already diverted AI resources from Tesla to xAI and X.)
Well done. And thank you for bringing up trumps recent FUD... I would have made a few seconds to mention how several people at that Nevada rally were hospitalized for heat injury.
The publication of partial voting results while voting is still ongoing, is legally problematic. SEC regulations and stock exchange rules often require that voting processes are conducted in a manner that ensures all shareholders have an equal opportunity to vote without undue influence. Depending on the jurisdiction and specific circumstances, releasing partial voting results could expose the company to legal risks, including claims of manipulating the voting process or violating fiduciary duties to shareholders.
He gets his $56 Billion, you think he is worried about higher inflation? Regular people worry about inflation, not him, in fact he gets patted on the back. He knows something we do not or don't want to admit. Buying Twitter was an inconvenience, looks where he is at now? Of course you can complain and cry victim or you can take advantage of the system

another great episode too bad there is still so much hate out there either for who you are or what you drive, I love you guys and I REALLY want to get an EV soon for now I am still spewing out CO and hate every time I get in my van but it's so far the only thing I can move my dad in, I might have to look into a delivery van but we can't afford to mod it for his scooter. They need to come up with something more wheelchair and disabled accessible.
People here hate me for my views and wanting my right to drive the car I want with the prime mover I want. Your hating CO / CO2 has been planted in your mind by people who want to control everything about your life and activities. Are you saying people hate Nikki because she is in a same X marriage? I am not interested in her personal romance life. I am interested in her using FUD as a shield and weapon , enlisting others like a platoon to attack descent .
I hope you contact Kevin Haight about the JCB electric fleet including the portable charger. Maybe you can with Robert Lewellyen to use an electric teleport-skid steer-excavator 15Ice- maybe a farmtrac electric tractor. maybe you have neighbors who have a field to work and will not complain about Robert's right mess.
Of course, we all now see that Musk does all this from the goodness of his heart and the care for the environment, life, the Universe and everything. (BTW, if you wonder about Tesla margins etc, Musk just got about $12k per every car the company ever sold. I don't think that, say, Mary Barra can boast such "compensation".)
@@geraldh.8047 Not a "bonus" it was a compensation agreement that should be honored. Despite his politics he has done more than anyone to "accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy".
The board are his friends and immediate family all beholden to him. Elon is asking for twice what Tesla has earned in revenue since 2020 when it started to make a profit. This excludes 'earnings' from the carbon credit scam and tax payer rebates. He's a habitual stock manipulating baboon and I hope the murdering FSD and wire fraud catches up with him soon. Did he deserve a reward, yes, but of that level, no, not even close
@@beachcrow The options package was illegally agreed to between himself and people who he directly controlled and influenced, therefor it was struck down by a court of law. For his achievements to "accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy" he was able to amass a net worth of ~150 billion or so. Why should be be awarded an additional `~50 billion? And why would being given ~200B$ instead of ~150B$ for his past (!!!) performance make him a less destructive force towards Teslas stock price in the future?
All wrong think model t has to be inexpensive user serviceable easily upgradeable. All traits that prolific vehicles have or did have in there time. all of these vehicles will be worthless in a few short years due mainly to useless over engineered systems. Keep it simple all a person wants to do is go from point A to point B why has that become so expensive and complex. This will all fail in spectacular fashion.
This is one of the best cringe watch channels on youtube for a multitude of reasons and they know it. If it wasn't for censorship and fake elevation these videos would be laughed off the internet
