Not a cover, Brother Biz, it was written by Alvin Lee. The reason he said "I'm Going Home...by helicopter," is that the only way for the artists to get to and from the venue at Woodstock was by helicopter. Definitely NOT sped up, Alvin lee was widely recognized as the fastest guitar player in rock at the time. Shortened version, the original was over 11 minutes.

@@shezarae8827 LOL!!! Did you even bother to read my comment, or bother to look it up? He didn't say "It is by helicopter," Sunshine he said "It's called, 'I'm Going Home...by helicopter."

It's not a cover, Biz. This is from Woodstock and Alvin Lee tells the huge crowd "This is a thing called I'm Going Home" and then jokingly adds "by helicopter." Much like Hendrix stole the show at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, that's what Ten Years After did at 1969's Woodstock Festival. The resulting film of the concert made them household names. The film makers might have sped up the film, it's possible. Two favorites, both high speed rockers are "Bad Scene", and "Baby, Won't You Let Me Rock and Roll You."

Rocked the place apart!!! They are my absolute all time favorite band & I’m thrilled they’re getting some recognition, Alvin should always be mentioned amongst the best of the guitarists!! I’ll add that I cried like a baby when he passed & when I pass I plan on being front & center at his concerts in Heaven!!! Listen to Choo Choo Mama & if you’re not inspired to get up and dance I don’t want to know you. There’s so many songs to list but I’ll start there.

The great, late Alvin Lee stealing the show at Woodstock Festival. In the late 60's-early 70's, there were so many truly superior British blues/rock bands and performers, that sadly some of the lesser knowns have fallen through the crack. Besides Zeppelin & Stones, other greats include Who, Humble Pie, 10 Years After ,Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, Savoy Brown, Jeff Beck Group, Faces. Who else, I know I'm forgetting some one.... My favorite Alvin Lee song is "Bluest Blues" - sublime....
