The guys cover the various walkdowns in Wonderboy and KG's triumphant double stop climb, as well as the emotive lick in the middle of the song! Go to www.guitarings.com for merch and more Facebook: / guitarings Twitter: / guitarings
Thank you so much for doing these guitarings videos. It is nice to see your style of play and hear you talk about it. Pretty amazing overall that you are doing tutorials of your own songs! Just joining a Tenacious D cover band and using these for reference. Long live the D! Regards, Woz
at 1:10 KG is talking about the descending D scale in the bass and guesses that the next note down from D is "F sharp" and looks to John for the answer. John answers that it's a "D flat". This is technically true but in the context of Dmajor that tone would be called a "C Sharp". These are enharmonic equivalents of course, but it's technically a C#
Aaron Villarreal you can pretty much figure most of it out by ear and comparing finger placements. and this is coming from someone who sucks at leads. Yeah it's not very helpful to people that don't know guitar terminology or notes and scales like me. I have no idea what a petal is or a double stop. don't know what notes I'm playing when my finger pushes on a fret. But if you play around and listen and watch enough you can learn it from this video. It's a lot easier for me when I'm told the frets and strings I need to be playing but I've figured most of this out already just from watching, listening, and playing around
Aaron Villarreal I've always just stuck to playing chords but it's more fun to play the song the way you hear it being played in the song, instead of just playing the chords
