My bump is almost gone just doing what you said to do ...just watching this twice in a row !!! This bump in my hand was new....but it was a bump with irritated inflamed hand tendons. Went to my Dr today about this bump and he said to just leave it alone. Thank you Very much !!! Both my parents had this and i was told it was hereditary.... I believed there was something I could do. I found your video and it has made a big improvement in my hand !!! Just doing this twice. I owned a balloon shop for 14 years ( Tied a billion balloons ) and then was a buffet server for 22 years after that ( In Las Vegas at a VERY busy buffet and served drinks and bused all my tables. Your video it the answer to my prayers and knowing their was a natural cure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart !!!
Hey just wanted to say thank you for this. Had nodule pain for 3 weeks. I couldn't even extend my ring finger. Did your exercises for 3 days, and the pain is almost gone. I have full extension again! Thank you!
So helpful! I'm a professional violinist and noticed a nodule on the bottom of my left pinky joint, which is the hand that does all of the playing on the violin. It really freaked me out and scared me because I have so many concerts and auditions coming up I need to keep practicing and playing for. These exercises are so amazing to know about. Thank you! :)
Hi! I actually saw a hand specialist and he said to just ignore it and it will go away eventually! It actually disappeared within days of him saying that. I feel like it was all in my head and I kind of stressed about it so much that it was more mental than anything. Once he told me it was fine and not to worry about it, the nodule literally disappeared and went away. @@henmusicrecords
You nailed it! I just had nodules show up on left hand. I’m having supraspinatus soreness& around left shoulder & scapular area. So glad to hear what this is. I will start doing the stretches & continue working out the shoulder area as well. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about this!
Same exact place!! Your the first person that has made sense about what I’m experiencing. Mine is in my left hand below my pointer finger joint. Same exact place yours is!! Thank you!!
Doctor told me that the guidelines are 3 hydrocortisone injections and if its not fixed, they might consider surgical removal of the nodule. First jab was excruciating and did nothing, i wasnt going back for a second. I have put up with this for 13 or 14 yrs, so thanks🙏
Perfect. Thank you. I’m a climber with a weeks old drywall slinging injury, middle finger below the A1. Basically we were flipping drywall overhead one side of the room to the other and my partner dropped his end two feet up from the floor. The climber in me grabbed at my high edge automatically, shock loading my tips to palm pinch, which led to some aggravation. I’ve rested since, and performing the palpation exercise and fingers to the wall exercise described, provided instant targeted relief to my pulley. It was so immediately profound that I believe these exercises will reduce and eliminate my palm pain problem.
I was told to put up with it and that surgery was the only solution. So thank you for giving me somethings to try to work on getting rid of the module.
Thanks so much I'm 65 and I'm definitely going to use your information So glad I ran across your utube channel this morning your a true blessing I'm excepting that my hand will be healed from the exercises you gave Happy new year's to you and your family and thanks again for sharing Your heaven sent God bless you luv you
You guys only focus on the "sports" and "athletes." I'm a nurse (it's all fine motor (and gross) skills)....a gardener...a pianist, etc. I'll try this! I don't want surgery. A lot of surgery trauma in the last 3 hears ago and I'm not looking for more.
Just a word of caution - I have a nodule in the center of my palm below the ring finger and tried these and other exercises offered by this physio, and they made the nodule significantly worse. It's larger and actually painful now, where there had been no pain previously. As a rock climber, this is a huge bummer. Probably best to get your specific case checked out before you start messing with an undiagnosed nodule!
Have had Dupuytrens for several years, along w/other health issues. I was a professional pianist/artist for 40 years. As my health is slowly returning, I really want to regain the use of my fingers. I will refer to your video for regular therapy. Thanks.
Those of us that use our hands daily are prone. Mobility work like stretching and soft tissue techniques can help. Working on the neck and shoulders using some of my other videos are also critically important for musicians. Look at 1st rib correction, low trap and serratus anterior, and crossover symmetry videos specifically.
I have a little bump on the side of my middle finger. I think it’s from playing video games to extended periods of time. But watching you made it really simple and comforting to know it’s nothing to bad!
Hello, I have a cookie business, I bake a lot and constantly washing dishes with gloves on always. My question is,...I have them on the top of my baby finger and sometimes it burns. Would this same techique apply, thank you!
Thank you very much. I've been sculpting stone for 20 yrs. Recently i've been usining an air hammer for longer periods- think strong gripping plus percussive feed back. Recently noticed a nodule in my palm which fits the bill and the excercise you outlined seems to help. Will have to reduce the impact the tool has on my hand. It's pretty essential, getting better results quicker whilst reducing the strain on a long suffering shoulder
Thank you for your encouraging Words. I really appreciate it. My fingers have nodules on them and I’m always given Presnidone and the nodules are still here.
Thank you. MX accident impacted my right ring finger and it turned black and blue for a couple weeks, thought it healed and then a lump showed up months later on my palm inch below first joint on ring finger. I guess something tore and then as you said healing built it up too much and now a lump. Been heating and rubbing and now doing your exercises and stretches. Wife said try ultrasound, she's a PT, will try. I used my electric tooth brush (back side) to massage it too, kinda works as it pin points the vibrations pretty well. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing your story. You might try some scraping/Graston to tenderize the area. Possible it's still healing and will reduce in size over the course of 6 months. Make sure you work on your forearm muscle tension and release your neck and shoulders with some of my more recent videos on the foam roller.
I crochet a lot and I recently learned a new way to hold the yarn while I work. I could feel the strain between index and middle fingers. I also pull a heavy cart home and up 2 flights of stairs, from the grocery store on occasions. I think that the crochet is the culprit, because I can sit for hours at a time. I took up knitting and holding the yarn to knit is very different. My thumbs also are weak and hurt if bumped against. Yes, I noticed the bump in the palm of my hand about an inch or so below the middle finger.. I'll try the exercises that you recommend, because I really don't want a cut happy doctor trying to open up anything to see what's there. I'm old, the joints don't work so well anymore. I'l also have to do more walking, I used to do that a lot, no choice, I don't drive. Retirement is good, but I sit too long crocheting, now learning to knit better.
Thank you so much. I have early stage duypetrens and I am determined todo allI can to help return my hand to health. First time I did these excercises I noticed a softening in the tendon. 👍
I can't believe I found this video. Adam Ondra will like to know you, if he doesn't already.... This upload is spot on, and i've had my condition in my ringfinger tendon, in my hand, (proper) spread to numbness in the exact nerves from the neck down to there. My nodule is about 3/8 inch around, and looks like a blister. It doesn't hurt except occasionally that whole part of my left hand will have pain like arthritis or something, but it's only rarely, and doesn't last but ten minutes tops. It doesn't really bother me, but the numbness in my left forearm does sometimes, your video stretch just trying it for the first time has instantly helped with that damn numbness problem. I always thought it was a bone spur or something, but it's definitely a tendon thing, because the exact same spot on my right hand has a stringy tight tendon that could maybe be heading for similar problems. Obviously, you're diagnosis and therapy has nailed my problem perfectly. I'm definitely dealing with a neck injury that has haunted me with other annoyances before. Chiropractors scare me so i'm gonna use your simple therapy instead... i bet it's gonna work. You rock.... Thank you. Liked and subbed
Thank you so much, I am a climber and as a new mum I've been having so much numbness and tingling in the last three fingers and my wrists. These exercises are way better than what my physiotherapist gave me!!!!
So glad it's helping. Being a new mum is a lot of work. I have 3 kids and my wife (who is also a talented climber) is a hero. If you want more tricks and tools check out my new course. Super easy stuff you can use to prevent these things and climb better. charlesmerrill.podia.com/relief-from-nodules-lumps-and-bumps-in-your-palm
I have a small nodule on my left palm below my ring finger. I have been freaking silently as I have some trigger finger and it starting to affect my banjo and guitar playing. I’ve been doing your exercises and it’s feeling better already. Thankyou so much
Amazing! I searched for quite a few days to self-diagnose my little lumps and eventually found you. I did some of the pin and stretch exercises and they moved and shrank in size., and during watching this video! The lumps are in my left hand which corresponds to some shoulder pain and stiffness so I'll try the nerve mobilisation next Thanks so much.
thank you! this is the first I've heard of the connection of what's happening in the neck, shoulders, etc with this condition, which makes sense to me. this is prob why it comes back after surgery and other treatments. I must address the weakness in my neck. obviously the whole body is connected, and everything is a symptom
Sounds very similar to a mild case of Celtic Hand, technically called Dupuytren's Contracture. If it is Celtic Hand, the nodules will eventually over the course of years form a chain down one or two fingers and pull them into a contraction (meaning you can no longer straighten the fingers all the way)
@@Casmige Dupuytren's Contracture is a totally different condition than Trigger Finger. Unfortunately, Dupuytren's is more like a disease process than an injury, it worsens over time, and has no actual cure. It can progress to the point where the affected fingers are permanently bent and can't be straightened. Trigger finger starts with the fingers while Dupuytren’s contracture stems from the palm. Dupuytren’s contracture involves the tissue, but trigger finger involves the tendons. Trigger finger is most common in the thumb, index finger, and middle finger. Dupuytren’s contracture is most likely to occur in the fourth finger and the pinky. Someone who has trigger finger can straighten the finger if they tried, but someone with Dupuytren’s contracture cannot. Whereas trigger finger is usually the result of an injury, the causes of Dupuytren’s contracture are not clear.
Absolutely loved your video! I have been working with my hands daily 8 hours for years, mainly using and gripping a manual cleaning roller needed for my type of manual work. A few weeks ago, within a couple of days or so, I noticed a lump under my right ring finger. Worried it could be something serious preventing me from working (self-employed), I found your video. I will use your stretching exercises and hope for the best. Thanks again.
Funny how these things seem to show up suddenly often. After years of repetitive tasks. Work on it and it will change. But also stay curious about the timing of "why now"? Keep watching for more on why pain and other tissue changes happen when the do. Thanks for the comment.
I’m a building contractor, over 30 years, and i have several on my left hand even though I’m right handed. There are several family members who have it too and they have different types of work.
It's so interesting how you said this issue can be coming from the neck. As this started when I began to have neck issues. I had acdf one week ago today . I thought the bumps were bone spurs but this sounds like exactly what I have. Thank you for the exercises I will for sure do them
Me too. Bad posture problems after a promotion led me to more down time at work. Bad neck and upper back pain, then one of these nodules on both hands now.
Brilliant! I have this in a very small area of my foot at the tarsometatarsal. I'll add these stretches to my protocol. I using 99.99% DMSO directly onto the foot to increase circulation.
This is the most relief ive felt in ny hand in a while, hopefully I will be able to get back to pole dancing sooner rather than later. Thanks a bunch. 🌟🙌🏾🌟
I've been having a lot of trouble with a nodule in my left palm under the little finger. The doctor told me its dupuytrens contracture in its early stages. I will try this. Thank you !
Sounds like the doc is right on. I have a similar situation but no progression because I actively work on it, stretch my tendons, and use my hands actively in many diverse ways. Use it or lose it! The more you “disturb” that nodule, the smaller it will stay and the less it will progress. All tissues are plastic (changeable) but most people neglect them so they get worse. Stay in touch.
@@davidosbiston9265 need to use them in diverse ways. need to stretch the flexors and fingers, work on your extensor muscles and not only gripping activities which most do
@@Natashahoneypot started using lighter strings and also started using paraffin wax baths on my hand nightly. Also had a cbd rub that I used on my hand and finger. My finger isn't perfect but I barely notice the problem anymore and no surgery. Also reduce stress not good for tendon issues.
I’ve been doing a lot of lifting heavy items the past few days and my index finger and thumb have started contracting. I’ll use your exercises. Many thanks.🥶🇬🇧🙏🥶
@@eyelidman09 noticed u said u have been doing alot heavy lifting? As in working out? Been trying n searching for ways to left weigts without having to grip weights is why i asked
I promised someone I would knit them a sweater so have to deal with the nodule in my finger. The exercises were really tough on my shoulders but there's some change in my finger instantly
I'm going to try the massage and stretching. I broke the metacarpal in my pinky finger. Now I have a nodule in my palm. I hope it helps. Thank you for the information.
I'm currently seeing an acupuncturist for a nodule below the middle MCP joint. I might just bring this video to their attention, as I'm hesitant to try this on my own. The focus now is to reduce inflammation.
No nodules, but had a gnarly pain on my palm near the wrist on the pinky side and that upside down finger goggle exercise really stretched it out and helped a ton. Instant relief! I hope you experts sharing this info know how much you're helping
Pretty sure I have a ganglion cyst right at the base of my middle finger, palm side. I tried the stretches and felt a pop in my finger. The hard lump is still there but significantly smaller. My hand is tingling a little after the stretch but I'm confident this is going to help this go away sooner. Thanks for the video 👍
@@aaryankirtania I honestly just stopped messing with it and I didn't lift anything heavy with that hand and it went away.. it came back again so I just tried not to poke at it too much and it went away faster than the first time.
Turns out most symptoms show up because somethings not going well in our lives. Reassurance is the most powerful medicine and empowering people to make the change they need to make is the elixir.
Hi, thank you so much for this video I’ve been searching for ways to read myself of scar tissue in the palm of my hand I had to been a contracture surgery which is compound it with a fall I had to close nerve damage in my neck down to my elbow down to my hands I’m not having great success with PT or removal of the scar tissue. I’m not getting much stretching my fingers also they’re going to release me in a few weeks so I’m glad I found your videos I’m not really convinced I have doing a contracture because there’s no history in my family whatsoever but my hand was closed because of an injury fall and it was like that for two years and I did perform fibers in my tendons and they right away so it was given a contracture right now I have a lot of scar tissue and I’m trying to break it up myself so thank you so much
Nice yes do what you can before having surgery. Working on the neck and shoulder is critical. And trauma and/or dysfunction to the neck and shoulder will create nervous system sensitivity resulting in problems in the hand. So take care of your neck and shoulders and I think you'll minimize the hand issues. Use the medical system to slow the progress too.
Thank you! I’ve been looking for a video on stretches and massages for Dupuytren contracture. I currently get acupuncture on my hands and will incorporate the stretches and massage techniques.
Hi I used a needle to stimulate a bump that I had in the terminal extensor tendon. Prior to doing this my finger would hurt if put my into my pocket for anything. It would send a nerve pain and hurt for a while. I poked around the bump and performed stretches only one time and the area Shrank in size tremendously. No more pain when retrieving things from my pocket. I will certainly try this technique again to make it even more smaller.
I really don’t know how I got a lump in the left palm of my hand, I workout, play video games stay active. The lump in my hand never really caught my attention until today when I was massaging my left hand. I’ll give these stretches a try and come back for updates.
I opened a cap stuck on a bottle, then went for a 200 mile motorcycle ride. Lots of clutch use. When I got home I noticed a bee bee size painful lump palm of hand about an inch below my ring finger under the skin, which looks normal. It’s been three days no change in size becomes painful with use. I will give theses exercises a try. Thank you
This has to be my problem. I've got 3 of these on my left palm. Not painful just annoying. I have a semi-annual Dr appt(I'm a geezer) in 3 weeks and had planned to show him but I'm reluctant to do so as he's fast to pull the trigger on sending me to a specialist of some kind. May try these exercises for a while first. The only thing I can think of is I have been playing golf for over 50 years and the left hand is the one used for the most leverage on the club....for a right handed golfer.
Thank you this is amazing. I have a nodule in the palm toward my 3rd finger. I had accupuncture once and it went away after 3 sessions but now it's back. During the Virus can't go to the accupuncturist so I am looking for help. Will try this!
I’m curious if you are still monitoring comments on this video? It looks like good info, but I’m wondering if the exercises can aggregate the nodules and make it worse. I’m a CrossFitter just turned 48. I have nodules in both pinkies. No contraction and I’ve probably had the one in my left hand for at least a decade, but it has gotten a little bigger. They follow the lines of calluses on my hands. I’m curious if anyone else has had long term success following the techniques. The mainstream view seems to be leave it alone, use needle therapy, or surgery.
Ive a lump at A1 (palm just below finger) that Ive had for years, used to climb a lot and remember injuring it. It feels a little tight and tender and I always thought it was solid, after trying the 'pin and pinch' its made a noticeable difference, seems to have flattened and softened somewhat, which I can barley believe lol. Gonna keep that one up and see how goes.
Oh thank god, I found this. lol. Just started to freak out wondering what happened to my palm! . These have reduced the bump by 60% at least already within a min. I got mine from cleaning pans (holding the handles too tight with my left hand)
I got the samething... It took me over 2 years to get rid most off them. The treatment i use was LEVELING MY ALKALINE WITH THE URIC ACID IN THE BLOODSTREAM.. TO MUCH URIC ACID IN THE BLOODSTREAM CAUSES THIS...
I had surgery on my right index finger after an injury and the incision was all the way down to my knuckle in my hand (on the palm side). This area seems to have created a scar that has a sharp edge both inside and on the outside and it's like a knife edge digging into me anytime it's pressed on. I went to physical therapy on Tuesday and the woman took some sort of hard plastic thing and dug it into my hand and then told me that pressing something hard into it was the only way to break up scar tissue. They have always just used their hand to massage in the past. This new aggressive approach caused excruciating pain to the point of almost passing out and I'm thinking it might be counter productive and causing more inflammation, thus making my finger even stiffer and more swollen. I can't go through that again, so have been looking for other techniques that are not so extreme. I did try your first technique of closing the finger and pressing on that base area and it seems to increase me range of motion almost immediately.
I developed two nodules on my palm after removing and reinstalling new water pipes under my house. A lot of twisting, pushing, etc. So, I hope this works
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. This is a common problem and, to my surprise, is one of my most popular videos. I have a follow up coming. Stay tuned.
Just found a bony nodule on my middle right thumb joint. Have been swinging a lot of steel clubs lately and think that may be the cause. PCP has recommended wearing lifting gloves but I’m going to see an orthopedic soon. Thanks for the content
Hello - what a great video, thanks for putting this together, its great information - I have been searching for something to help me over the past few weeks. I think mine may have come on using resistance bands - I have some questions, hope you don't mind responding. How many times would you do these excercises per day? Is the aim to continuously do these excercises to keep the nodule away? Would a massage therapist be able to roll out this type of nodule? Thanks Again and looking forward to seeing some of your other videos.
