@@jessietoney8919 that’s a silly analogy. 1️⃣ People by nature are fallible, so the same can be said of anyone, ie, a resource officer on the campus. (I hate when people pedestalize law enforcement, like they’re more trained/they couldn’t/wouldn’t snap) 2️⃣ Background and Mental health checks are going to be utilized in the selection. (Personally, I think monthly rechecks would be phenomenal, and actually should be utilized in law enforcement as well) 3️⃣ Furthermore, there will be training and deescalation protocols involved. (Again, people are fallible, but a child “talking sideways” isn’t going provoke use of deadly force. And if that did happen, the system failed in hiring that teacher WAAAAY before a firearm was introduced) 4️⃣ And for the little miscreants bold enough to actually hit a teacher, don’t put the burden on the staff! How about parents raise their little monsters to respect authority and not act like animals. (I’m speaking from the standpoint of a parent)
