It was an explosive experience seeing him in person. I was 10 years old when I saw Elvis at my first ever concert and later that year at my second concert. Those memories are as vivid now, 50 years later, as they were then. You were afraid to blink until you heard the words "Elvis has left the building" in case you missed anything. We were 3rd row and 5th row at those concerts. Elvis was a huge practical joker. That "shove it up your nose" line towards the beginning was ad libbed. He loved to change or throw in an funny line into this song during a performance just to see if the audience caught it.
Imagine the pressure Elvis had to continually feeling like he had to be perfect. Each time outdoing the last performance. It's said that he was afraid of aging. That he wouldn't please the crowd as much. How heartbreaking 🥺 if he only knew the mark he left would he still question himself? I think yes, because he was just that humble ♥️♥️
Elvis created something unforgettable... never seen anything like him. This overwhelming impact on generations that one person have. There is glowing aura around him and it is eternal.
@ Nat Elliott-Ross ; 1st : remember Elvis did suspicious minds near the end of his show , so he did already 1,5 hr show before he started this song . After this he always did the closing song "Can't help falling in love" 2nd ; Elvis was always synchronizing his songs with the band so like a "stripper" acting to certain notes to emphasize the song and make "a show". An Elvis concert was always exciting and never dull cause he also included his concert viewers into his show like his was singing to them in a room . 3rd ; Ticket prices for an average Elvis concert in the 70's was $10,- . and it was always sold out . Lines to get tickets cause then there were no ticketmaster or any online order things . Oh and Elvis manager has also one rule: Celebrities get no VIP tickets for free. If they wanted to see Elvis his concert ? Pay for the ticket full price ! Still celebrities came in droves to see him ,. From Paul Simon , to George Harrison , David Bowie , Sammy Davis Jr. , Fats Domino , etc etc. PS : Elvis was here 35 years old.
Few singers have the ability, to improve their vocals when aging. His voice got better even when he was sick at the end. His manager drove him like a slave and took 50% of his earnings. Had he gotten a manager who nurtured his incredible talent properly he might not have died at 42. He did have fun doing his craft. But no one was so beautiful when I saw him in concert, he was honestly hard to get over him. thank you for your great reaction. Please do his black leather performance in the 68 special, "Trying to Get to You", and Trouble/ guitar man.. Rock on.
his drummer at the time Ronnie Tutt(who BTW passed away a few months ago)had to really be on his toes as we say here in America...bscause Elvis could improvise at a moments notice! you can see his smiling at Ronnie sometimes(I think he's smiling because of how Ronnie is 'keeping up'...ha.
I hear more RU-vidrs that react to Elvis mention his drummer and I certainly love his style. I play piano and I really love Elvis's piano player also. His whole band is awesome.
Hi Nat... Ist time watching your channel... Loved your reaction to my favourite singer! Your input is priceless, loved it. Yes Ronnie Tutt the drummer was on point! Subbed... more Elvis please.. from South Africa. ⚡🎤🇿🇦
I must say i never saw anything sexual in Elvis' moves or performances - & i go back to 1956 when i was 13; to me it was all about his feel for the music, the drums, all the instruments, his singers & just his emotion for the song & pounding music; & no, i never could dance or bounce around while he's performing; i need to watch him intently, his face, all the little things he does; i must sit still & soak it all in.
Really great insight and knowledgeable in depth review. Loved it. Big thumbs up from me. Thanku. Ps I see you are a Freddie fan. I’m sure you know that “this thing called love” was written with Elvis in mind. Did you know Queen did a version of Jailhouse rock ?🤩
Thank you very much for reacting to this song, if you'd like to see a complete different side to Elvis try- if I can dream 68 comeback special it's a tribute to MLK Thanks.
Most of my exposure to the King is from 1973 Aloha from Hawaii. It's amazing to see how close this and that performance are (except for about 30 lbs. Well maybe that, maybe less).
His band is interesting they are number one talented, and number two they are able to follow his movements with his change ups, and third they all project how much fun they are having. I don't know if he is just dancing to his song, or is his dance conducting the band.
Just discovered your channel and loved your reaction!! I don't know how familiar you are with Elvis, but if you haven't seen this performance could you react to: Elvis Presley - Fever (Aloha From Hawaii) (2:42).
