Through recent genetic testing I’ve learned that I have ancestors on my mothers side that came from Sardinia a few generations back. I’m on a journey to find out about this beautiful culture and I fit in. I thought music would be a great place to start . I’m so humbled and yet overwhelmed.
Traditions and cultural we Southern italians are very similar to Caucasians regions. I am Sicilian and i have Caucasian friends and they all tell me we are very similar.

Corsican polyphonic singing is even more similar to Georgian polyphonic singing than the Sardinian one, very specific, @History of Georgia Colchis Diaokhi Iberia....
She did really well. The man was speaking good Italian but the singing and the names for the different types of singing are in Sardo not Italian so not a straight translation.
La dicitura "tenores" riferita ad un solo quartetto è errata! Loro sono solo uno dei tanti quartetti presenti in quel paese. Tenores di Bitti indica tutti i quartetti. Questo è il Tenore (al singolare) di Bitti Remunnu 'e Locu. Uno dei tanti.
c'ha provato, dopotutto... non è semplice tradurre (se non sei un professionista) su due piedi una tradizione centenaria espressa (in perfetto italiano per giunta) da uno dei suoi tramandatori.... per me è bellissimo in tutto

@@drugo1983 A me è sembrato che per la maggior parte ha fatto abbastanza bene. E molto difficile tradurre così a due piedi. Non aiuta che c'è tutto quel casino intorno. Poi, ci sono termini che non sono neanche italiani, non so nemmeno si esistono l'equivalente. Ma sarei anche grato per una spiegazione delle parte che ha sbagliato di più. it seemed to me that for the most part she did pretty well. It is very difficult to translate on the spot. It doesn't help that there's all that noise everywhere. Then, there are terms that are not even Italian, I don't even know if their equivalent exists in italian. But I would also be grateful for an explanation of the parts that she got the most wrong.
@@nikiTricoteuse totally agree, it was not easy, exactly for the reasons you said; i will try to see again the video and I will try to produce something better, but my level of english is very medium, so I am not sure I will be able to do it better, is not my job, but I am for sure able to recognize the incongruities.
