Lovely ring Peter. I just started following you but I am now hooked. You videos are so easy to watch and learn from. Oh, were those crickets I could hear chirping in the background. Reminds me a when I was a kid!! Thank YOU for this video.
The first position would've been more difficult to cut the u section out. It can be done either way but the second position is easier to do. Probably just desoldered the joint and flipped it around when he realized what he did, happens to everyone lol
Hiya Peter, Thank you for an excellent video/lesson. One small point. You did not show precisely where to mark the position for the heart burr? Apart from this very minor point, I found this a very, very informative film. I wish my health and wallet were up to signing up for your channel. How is Soham doing? I have not seen anything from him for a while? He inspired me and helped immensely with my decision to start working with silver. Stay safe, Steve...
I was thinking about this as I was watching. Is it possible for you to model that gem that you're using in a CAD program or something, and then pull across section at the depth that you're intending for it to sit in the middle, then print out that cross-section on adhesive paper? stick it on and then cut. you could essentially cut a near perfect cavity that way and eliminate that rock.
