i was with sydney all season honestly. i love carmy but shes 100% all in with this just like he should be, he should definitely be prioritizing the restaurant and their communication over claire. and if they’re going to be partners she should know what’s up if theyre making major changes.
I just realized that Sydney's dad is played by Robert Townsend! He played Meteor Man in a movie that filmed a scene in the alley behind my house!! I still love that movie. Maybe a pick if you all do old school super hero films?
‘Kasama’ has a Michelin star, which I think speaks to a confusing choice for ‘The Bear’ pushing upscale: there are so many places that garner a Michelin star that don’t pursue that high fine dining market, Kasama being one of them (dishes are $20 at most) Even though it’s the exception not the rule, there’s a woman with a seafood cart in Baja with a Michelin star
I understand that we all need personal time to not burnout, but Carmy is opening a restaurant with an insane deadline and with the risk of losing $2mil and let 10 people unemployed. It isn't time flirt.

Even though Sydney isn't an owner (Nat & Carmy are co-owners), she's not getting paid for 6 months. She told her dad that she was pushing off payment while the other chefs like Tina and Ebri were going to culinary school and still getting paid? She's there with Carm & Nat when they are trying to get more investment from Uncle Jimmy. She's heavily involved in the planning and landscaping of the restaurant. She's passed the same level of investment (money/responsibilities) as Tina for example. It just really sucks that Carmy put that deadline on them and he's not taking any of his responsibilities seriously. He's leaving everyone out to dry. Notice how he stopped going to therapy.
Carmen pissed me off so bad this episode I can't lie lol. How are you gonna call her your partner, make plans, bail on said plans only AFTER SHE asks you wassup, okay the big decision of knocking down an entire wall without communicating all while putting her and your entire staff on a deadline of paying back $700 000 in 18 months while making a profit too? He's so unserious and Syd is better than me cause we woulda fought
I can't wait for your reaction to episode 7. Also, I had to laugh when Zuff said that caviar comes from fishes' stomachs. Caviar is unfertalized fish eggs (sturgeon, to be specific), so it comes from the ovaries of female fish.
Claire is cute and a way to "escape" his own reality but she has nothing of development outside of being cute, kind and being "the best" I do not know if she is in the next season but if she comes back she need to have more background or anything
Sydney has a point, to a level. But end of the day, it is Carmys place, Carmy is the boss. He shouldn't of left her hanging but like the rest of the cast this seasons, he wants them to go and find/learn like he did. He stood Syd up but he trusted her to do it alone.
I get the frustration with Carly bailing on Sydney and everything but at the same time I feel like the two of them on this trip of visiting restaurants was just not necessary. With 2 people I’m sure they’d get distracted more and take a lot longer in general. And I wish they’d just talk and be okay with dividing their work like this. It doesn’t need to be the 2 of them doing the same work 50-50.
@@LadyScaper All I’m saying is it’s unrealistic to think they can accomplish every task 50/50 and not lose precious time considering they’re on a serious time limit. If they spent the entire day doing this together then that’s all that time Carmy spent at the actual restaurant doing the construction and maintenance that was needed just lost and put off to another day. Carmy clearly trusts Sydney’s judgement and that’s why he put her in the role that she’s in. It’s unconventional but they “literally” don’t have a whole lot of conventional options to work with.
Unpopular opinion: Sydney oversteps too much. I don’t really care that Carmy said she was his partner. This is what Richie was talking about last season when he said she oversteps. The Bear is still Carmys restaurant at the end of the day. Even if she left he could still get that restaurant up and running. I understand people being mad about him not going to taste food but if we base it off just this episode it was only one day that he wasn’t focused. Also the wall thing is just her being over dramatic. Common sense would tell you if the wall has all these problems to just knock it down why did she necessarily need to be informed about that immediately when he could just get it done.
See, but Carmy is not the only one with skin in the game anymore. Syd spends everyday from sunup to sundown working for this place. She is going 6 months without pay just like Carmy. She is giving orders just like Carmy. She is doing all the work of a OWNER, not a sou. This is her project and dream just as much as it is his now. She isn't overstepping when she has so much to lose if he can't get his head in the game.
@@avalonsignoraalmas6150 The so much to lose argument isn’t really valid if you take into account season one. She willingly quit her job and like she says in episodes to come Carmy could realistically do this without her. I don’t like the love interest storyline at all but she was being dramatic to me which is my opinion. How do you let strangers get in your head about a guy that let you back in after you quit when they found an inheritance that you weren’t at all entitled too? There’s no way.
big disagree. she is co-owner, she is also in charge, she definitely should be informed of the things that happen in the restaurant, a wall collapsing seems pretty major considering they're tying to open in 3 months. That also just seemed like another example of Carmy not really communicating with the important people in his life, which is a recurring problem with him
@@runjennierun07 she is definitely not co-owner. There is no contract that was signed in the show that says she is co-owner unless I missed that but I’m pretty sure I didn’t . Common sense would say if there is all these problems with a wall then the wall needs to come down. He told her as soon as she got there she was just finding someone to nitpick about because people got into her head about the partner stuff which they shouldn’t have been able to do because again, it’s not her restaurant. Carmy could realistically do this without her.
