This is actually one of the few performances in the Eurovision song contest history, what just turns to much better after the age, just like a good red wine.
Love it, one of my favourites :D I wish there were more songs like this in Eurovision. We need more diversity than usual pop, ballad, schlager, dance songs.
Jarkko Ahola is probably one of the best singer of the world :) he sings fantastic not only in metal songs but also in opera or acoustic.. Phenomenal voice, superb tenor. Love!
Eurovision should be blessed having Jarkko Ahola, and i am happy he was in Serbia 🇷🇸🇫🇮❤️ I want to live in Finland one day, last country in the world with good music
One of the best metal band in Finland !!! They should have won in 2 008 !!!! Jarkko's voice is totaly amazing !! I'm one of the greatest french fan !!! Christian from France
1:30 Jarkko Ahola is one of the best vocalists in Finland and rightfully so has a successful career inside Finland. Just wondering what they would've been with English lyrics and ambition to go around the world
For me, this is a gem that I'm appreciating much more today, than I did in the past. I think the reason it didn't do so well is because the audience was kinda tired of the genre during that era. I mean they did send 3 metal songs in a row (2006-2008). I feel this entry would have felt much more fresh among the audience today.
Finland *does* have the most metal bands per million of population than anywhere else in Europe ... that might explain their tendency towards that genre at Eurovision.
Utterly underrated band & song. One of the finest songs Eurovision had seen for decades. Better than Lordi but they didn't find what they expected... Shame really.
This was real and serious metal, not some kind of cosplay performance. Regular audience of ESC could not understand it's quality without superficial stuff...
@@yanavalladares How dare you disrespect Lordi like that! They had one of the most loved performances in Eurovision history and also it was the second most voted song in Eurovision history so people clearly like the song. And the costumes just add to tge experience. They were unique and just something that no one had seen in Eurovision before.
I have the luxury to play in a band with this drummer. It's a weird childhood dream come true almost, as most of my teenage years I was listening to Teräsbetoni, only to find myself playing with one of the best drummers in the country.
In 2021 Finnish goes back to Metal! \../ Blind Channel FTW and theyr song is Great Af but for some reason, normally Eurovision winner song is some lame af love r pop song who all sounds kinda same ffs and that rly sucks, cos Heavy Metal bands in EV gives us rly skilled bands and truly energized show etc etc..Finland&Blind Channel in 2021 Eurovision FTW! \../ !!🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
Teräsbetoni was considered a bit of a novelty band among all the big and super serious Finnish metal bands. And also heavy metal was kind of a thing in Eurovision for a couple years after Lordi so i think some got a bit bored of it. I mean this song and band is great and now I appreciate this a lot more than then, but i guess some thought that we could have sent something better too. Anyway this is one of the best entrys ever from Finland imo. Also I think our metalheads are not so much into power metal as other metal genres.
These dudes were the best this contest has ever seen. There were also a few bands that were good and Lordi is not included in this number. Because you can't compare a circus troupe with a real heavy metal band. Otherwise, this competition is so-so. Even Johnny Logan was pretty bad in 1987, and he has one of the best songs this show has seen. But who cares about quality, isn't it? 🙂
I narrowly lost the ticket reserved for the big night and overslept both semifinals which I DID have tickets for, but my friend then snatched a ticket for the last general rehearsal and this band was QUITE something. Probably the best out of all finalists, next to Sirusho of Armenia (she should have won). And all these screams even were better in the morning than in the evening, what a pity.
Hello from turkey for this magnificent song l have different tastes in every listening l muust add that finnish song in 2010 was marvellous too please finland send your songs in your own language but not in english
