The past month Integrated Logistics in Kuwait, has assembled and tested its Flagship, the Terex Demag CC8800-1 with BoomBooster attachment.
By adding 72 m of Boom Booster in the 120 m main boom, the Crane's lifting Capacity is greatly improved compared to a regular main boom. In BSSL Congfiguration the crane has a load chart like below.

what is the advantage to a booster over a regular section?

By adding a wider section in the main boom (72 m "BoomBooster"), the main boom becomes stronger/stiffer and enhances the lift capacity significantly at long boom lengths. Liebherr makes a similar "Power Boom"

The boom booster creates a stiffer boom, which is less sensitive to buckling and therefore can accept higher lifting capacities at larger radii

Richard Krabbendam What capacity can this crane lift ? We had a similar set up by Welde x on a bridge lift in s wales a few months ago massive amount of ballast for a 240 ton lift

You have to check this out on the load chart. max. cap. is 1600 ton, but the load itr can lift depends on the radius and length of boom
