@Tama-1313 In that episode, the three of them discover that a virus they found on Gumball is coming after them and is constantly mutating, which is why they're covering their faces
4:22 fun fact; she's right. It's very rare, but it *can* happen. Also, even though I know she cant help or control this (it has to do with anxiety and other stuff), some exposure to germs is good. it helps strengthen your immune system, and helps better it so you dont get sick or as sick in the future. That's why we have vaccines.
One of the covid's vaccines literally inserts a corpse of the virus in yo' body, so the thingies that I forgor the name, analyse it fully, to when you actually have it, they'll deal with it.
@@bobbiejoringulet5040children when they hear basic info (they’re too stupid that they think these things are too complex to the point where they believe anybody who knows this stuff is a nerd when in reality they’re just really dumb)
the pon pon pon parody is a testament to how absolutely in-the-know and relevant gumball's writers are and how perfectly their humor catered to their demographic
I think what I like about this character is the fact that she overreacts to everything and everyone, like it’s absolutely shocking how much she makes absurd details to basic objects, words and people.
It's still kinda sad because they can never tell her anything in fear she'll overreact. Yet the fact that everyone in her family has probably been killed to make to make paper art kinda makes me wonder how she's still even got the slightest of optimism...
0:27 Teri literally looked up the Resident Evil g-virus and didn't see it was from a fictional game. Well, zombies in TAWOG do exist so she's not wrong to worry.
I love the fact that Teri, since she’s a doodled and cut piece of paper, can technically draw anything on her and it’ll WORK as long as it fits on the paper. Facial features, expressions, and even entire OUTFITS can be drawn on! Instead of a wardrobe, she just has a PENCIL! Imagine being able to do that in real life, it’d be so strange and amazing!
As someone who used to have to deal with HUGE health anxiety, she's pretty accurate. You do pick up a huge medical vocabulary by googling your issues all the time. You do have high expectations from doctors and you do question why the hell this super simple thing didn't warrant a blood test, an ultrasound, a CT scan, etc. I know, because I've been there. And you do end up getting weirdass looks from people because your anxieties do make you look delusional. I love Teri.
@@TeenagedRat I refused to leave the house during the first year of covid. Thankfully since then I've gotten my health anxiety under a bit more control
Teri’s greatest offense was taking attention away from the 8-Bit Dog’s song. Forever will he remain an unimportant background character, and it’s all her fault.
Bruh, you have vegetables, dinosaurs, animals, toys, tools, even the planets can talk, all with different animation styles from realising to anime to 3D and you think that is bizarre?
Teri is probably the most underrated character in the series. Every one of her scenes is consistently funny, her design and voice are adorable, and she bounces really well off multiple characters. Probably my favorite Gumball character tbh Edit: typo 🥲
Underrated? The fandom absolutely loves her for some… weird reason, there are many characters in the show who are way better than Teri and don’t even get half the screentime or the love that she gets (Not that I don’t like her, but she’s not *that* great imo)
As someone with severe OCD I really liked Teri as a kid, she really connected to me and my contamination fears. She’s a good representation of how I feel. 10/10 representation
@@themyofmy I do like some characters with toc, even from comedies I've seen, but the point is that they weren't created for moral validation or anything like that.
@@wildfire9280 its not really an accomplishment if most of them are just the same person over and over. thats his point. he kissed 11 people in the series and 5 was gumball. the only kiss missing was the one from the shipping to make it 12 and that kiss was STILL gumball.
4:03 Watching this part again growing up is making me highly disturbed, while also making me laugh hysterically to the point where I become a shrimp, cause *_HOW THE FUDGE DID THIS SLIDE PAST MY HEAD AS A KID!?_*
@@barbatostea wasn't there an episode where they collabed with animators from Kill la Kill for the fight scene between Nicole and the cloud girl's mom?
Gumball was amazing because not only did all the characters have unique designs and personalities, but the show used the designs to their full advantage. Everything about Teri being made of paper is used for smart jokes. Its all so well done. So glad I grew up on this show.
Funnily enough on that episode a new Virus tried to get on Gumball's mouth at that moment, but other viruses and bacteria appeared wanting to do the same so the new virus battled them to death At the end, nothing got on Gumball thanks to the virus
I love how nearly all the characters “are” something (Joe is a banana, Ocho is an 8bit spider, etc.) but what they “are” doesn’t define their whole character, their personalities mixed with little gags based on their species is what makes them funny
2:00 Holy crap, I can't believe I never noticed this before! When she tries to show off her "ulcers," you can actually see some drawn organs when the Sun shines behind her! That's so friggin' cool!
I just wonder how her organs work. Does she even need to eat, if so, how? Does she draw food inside of her mouth and then move her mouth to actually eat it?
Same is true in her naked dream, because all of the teachers were on the sides of the table, so she'd have been visible to *all* of them. Love nonsensical humour like that tho
Moments that stuck out to me: -Terri being teared apart in the middle. -The murder of her uncle to use in her birthday present -a stain of droll being formed when she kisses Darwin This whole show is both dark and hilarious, and I don't know how I never noticed those moments
It's hard taking someone seriously if they're always overreacting, even when there are times when she's right. The nurse seems to be the most done with her because she visits her so much
There is literally an entire episode where she discovers a new, undiscovered virus and proves it to Gumball and Darwin, who take it seriously once they are given proof. What are you talking about?
As a hypochondriac, seeing how her constant fears of illness are portrayed as irrational helps me a lot, because not only do I relate to it, but I also see that despite her constant illness fears she is entirely fine. I struggle with constant irrational fear of ailments ; for months ive been fighting the fear of having a stroke, or a heart attack, or kidney failure, when really my body just aches sometimes. If food I bought tastes bad, i briefly think its poisoned. Every time I buy cooked food, I worry its undercooked and will poison me. Seeing how she constantly has these severe fears but is just as fine as everyone else just makes me feel better because it reminds me my constant worrying is truly irrational. I dont mean that people with hypochondria need belittling to feel better, but its clearly showed when shes irrational and completely fine, and the way she acts about her hypochondria I can actually relate to a lot. I like her.
@@photlam9769 to be honest, as a hypochondriac, it's often amazing to me to remember how good our immune systems are. we are told facts of the amount of germs on everything, if you go to a top 10 dirtiest surfaces in your house list, doorknobs, keyboards we type on, etc, might be filthier than the seat of a toilet... yet we put our hands on those and eat and we are all the same; fine. I never washed my hands as a kid, i had ZERO hygene and would wash my hands maybe once a week, and take a bath once a week. i would barely ever actually get sick. i'd smell bad, but... my immune system is titanium. ive never had an illness besides a common cold, chicken pox as a child, and some ear infections when i was younger. beyond that i have a fucking amazing immune system. i could easily do stuff like blowing my nose on a stepped-on mcdonalds napkin or other shit like that and be completely fine, but my brain will go into overdrive if i so much as scrape myself a little bit on the ground and panic ive just picked up a flesh-eating bacteria. people tend to think this way because of stories. i personally remember hearing stories of people getting simple accidents that lead to life-altering problems. one that stuck with me is the kid who accidentally cut his lip on a basketball hoop, and got a flesh-eating bacteria on his face that wasn't cured. shit like that makes me wonder when a small injury i sustain will be deadly in a horrible way.
@@davemiller7692 i binged this show before and honestly, no one can prove me gumball isn't at least bi. I know most of the time it serves as jokes but he still did a bunch of stuff sooo...
@@tori_aviator basically they don’t have time to do anything, and would rather continue to draw and finish a time consuming project than take care of their essential needs like eating/showering like most manga authors, how they have a short time frame to finish each page
I have a bizarre theory. My theory on why she's is afraid of germs comes down to three things. The first part,(the most logical one), is that they wish to pursue a dream of being either a doctor or someone within the medical field, thus explaining why she hate germs so much. The second part is that she may once been infected with a deadly or just as harmful bacterial disease, lying next to deaths door but was able to recover but mentally scared. And the third one,(the most bizarre one), is witnessing someone with severe bacterial infection seeing how gruesome without proper care or medication to stop it. And if I recall, her mother is a professional medical doctor in turn, took her daughter to see the horrors of what lies behind the close curtains. Thus concludes my bizarre theory.
The first one would make sense if she wasn’t overly scared of them. Something you learn very quickly in any medical field is that germs are just as important as anything else and it could be extremely dangerous if you didn’t have any germs inside you.
She is a piece of paper so she is delicate and her mom is a doctor so she just saw a lot of infections and stuff like that when she was young so she got traumatized, i don't think it's that complicated
As someone with many phobias you don't need something big to traumatise you, just compulsive thoughts and a constant influx of the information that scares you (looking online and rabbits holes)
TAWOG (besides being the only show that understood Zoomer "culture") managed to surpass any other comedy cartoon by even getting the torture humor right. In Spongebob, Squidward keeps getting tortured by those idiots and you feel sorry for him. Here, Teri is first build up as a hypochondriac (so harmless things are horrible to her), also it doesn't seem she feels pain rather than shock, there's no joke about consequences (not in bandages and a wheelchair or something), she's literally paper, most things happening to her are accidents. So its way less unconfortable than in other cartoons. And yeah it's mostly Nick cartoons with such humor.
I felt that nurse man. I love my job but people insisting they're sick while they're not and accusing you for being unqualified to do your job is exhausting 😮💨
He also managed to shoot Mr.Small right on the head with an arrow, i'll add that to my almost canon headcanon, that Gumball has natural talent in archery xD
9:14 I mean, you can say that Darwin is a Mutant (he’s a Fish with Legs, maybe he got them from a Biochemical in The Ocean and Fish start Mutated, I mean look at The Fish from The Simpsons)
Well your story reminds me of one time where a 15 yo boy has licked the toilets.. for tiktok? And it was during the 1st lockdown. Guess what? Not even a week after he went to the hospital for a severe COVID case. That's what I call ✨𝓀𝒶𝓇𝓂𝒶✨
2:44 OK, I was NOT expecting her to be one of the only female characters that got the "pixelated bare body" thingy only the Watterson duo had and also her having this type of dream out of all of the other characters is just utterly hilarious when I first saw it And her being an fricking severe OCD germaphobe kinda fits the fact that every SINGLE GODDAMN CHARACTER IN THIS SHOW is a metaphoric stereotype of everyone at this point
When I first watch the show, i didn't care much about Teri. But now in recent years started to grow on me, I find her adorable even with her expressions, and pretty funny. Shame that she's so underrated.
@@dontemorgan1517She also grew on me as I finished watching the show (it might also have something to do with a fanfic where she has a starring role in). I wish she would have gotten a few more episodes to develop her a little, especially since most of her appearances in the last seasons consist of her being in pain.
as a child, i remember relating heavily to teri because of my health anxiety. it was so bad, i remember i used to wash my hands so much that it would get irritated. i was also someone who used to overreact and needed constant reassurance too; my helper probably thought i was annoying. 🤦🏼♀️
