My experience getting a TFMR (termination for medical reasons) at 22 weeks. What to expect, and how to prepare.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was searching everywhere for someone talking about it before I finally found yours. We found out at the 20 week ultrasound that our baby has a rare genetic disease called infantile polycystic kidney disease and are in the process of scheduling a D&E. The whole process is heartbreaking, but hearing your story makes me feel a little more prepared. Thank you 🙏🏾

Thank you for sharing your story. There aren't a lot of people willing to talk about this. I'm in the UK and it's different here, my experience was very different but the emotional impact is much the same. I appreciate hearing your story. I wish you all the best in the future ❤️ Edit- i cant imagine going through that with protesters, there is laws against protesters outside hospitals etc where I live. It must be so difficult, especially when its a wanted pregnancy and these protesters have no empathy for certain circumstances 😭

I am so sorry for your loss! The emotional impact is definitely something so intense, it’s hard for others to fully understand unless they also experienced such pain. 💔 I think this is why women who experience this, really find peace in bonding with others who have experienced the same heart ache. Finding community is really great after going through this. I would really love to learn about your UK experiencing! I’m glad you didn’t have to deal with protestors! It really made an already traumatic experience, more stressful. I really wish the United States had laws against protestors for things like this. I hoped in sharing my story, it would help women not feel the shame associated with it ( a lot of shame around this in the USA ) Thank you so much for listening to my story, sending you love, hugs, and healing 🩷🌈

Sorry to hear what you went through. I also went through second trimester tfmr recently for a sex chromosome aneuploidy as a FTM in my mid 30s. Your video was very informative.

Thanks For sharing and so sorry to hear this. I am struggling with the decision now and i am 17 weeks pregnancy but sadly, it was tested and confirmed with trisomy 18. From the ultrasound, she has heart, chest, brain defects, i basiclly tears everyday for about 3 weeks and such a hard and devastating journey.

I am so sorry you have to go through this! It is so hard! Just remember that it’s not your fault, and everything does eventually get easier! I know in the moment it feels so surreal and overwhelming, but take it day by day🩷 I am about 6 months out from my tfmr and it will always be a sore spot in my heart, but one thing that comforts me is knowing my babies dna will be apart of me forever! I hope that gives you comfort, too! Sending you love and hugs🩷

I just did my anatomy scan and found out at 18 weeks my baby as trisomy 13. She has a massive heart defect and brain defect. Shes missing her nose and they can’t find one of her eyes 😭 i been advised to term this pregnancy because she’s not viable at all. Ugh all of this is so scary
