Terminator 1984 Alamo Gun Shop Scene

It was just a normal day for the Alamo gun store owner. He woke up, ate breakfast and kissed his wife goodbye on his way to work at the Alamo gun shop. It was a slow day, only one person came in but didn't buy anything. Then walks in the Terminator, oh this may be a sale! Thought the gun store owner to himself. He showed him the 12-gauge autoloader, the 45 longslide with laser sighting, and the uzi 9mm. He was puzzled when the man asked for a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range but he didn't want to insult him and lose the sale. He then asked which weapon the gentleman wanted, he replied "all". He was so excited at the prospect of such a big sale, he had thoughts of closing early and spending a wonderful day with his wife. He turned around to get the paperwork and it was the last time he would ever turn around. He saw the man loading the 12 gauge with bullets from the counter. He told him that he couldn't do that and the man must not have liked that because he shot him dead on the spot. In an unreleased Terminator movie the resistance sends a Terminator back to 1980 to Terminate the gun shop owner. His existence in 1984 allowed the Terminator to stock up on weapons. So skynet also send a Terminator back to protect him. No copies are known to exist of this film.

It makes the scene more interesting, and it also makes him appear more human-like. Which not to mention is part of his disguise. Machine guns came with 200 dollar ATF tax stamps since the National Firearms Act in 1938. But they could still be purchased, sold, and manufactured for commercial sale freely. It wasn't until the 1986 Hughes Amendment that put heavy restrictions on machine guns. All privately owned machine guns had to be manufactured, registered, and given a registration number by the ATF by May 19, 1986 to be transferable between private citizens. Those failing to comply would be in possession of an unregistered machine gun and therefore felons. Machine guns can still be bought and sold today, as long as they are FFL holders, pass various background checks, pay the $200 tax stamp on their FFL, and can afford the gun itself. Since 1986 it is no longer possible to register new manufactured machine guns for commercial sale, therefore there is a limited number of transferable registered guns in the US, and the price keeps getting higher.
