A very beautiful piece - The main theme to the film "Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines" and was played during the end credits. Music by Marco Beltrami.
Yeah it did, T1 & 2 had tragic endings but not to this scale. I'm glad the writers took a ballsy move that could bother a few people. The endings for Salvation and Genisys were very safe and happy.
Johann du Toit Yh, I love how this has the opposite outcome of T2, but John in both films has the same outlook. In T2, he doesn’t want to lead, so he denies his fate and ‘stops’ judgement day, whereas T3 involves him still not wanting to lead but instead he accepts his fate, with the finale ending with him finally stating that he’s now in charge
" By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun..."
That ending, especially the speech and the music, is better than the rest of the movie. At least, it left us something to remember. It could have been worse.
The CSM 101 from T2 trusted John and helped him change the future. He succeeded. Yes. For several years their efforts had meaning. Until it got crushed again by the fact that, when something have to happen, it will, its inevitable.
John would meet that same T800 in the future war, he would have it reprogrammed and eventually sent back to the T2 past, if the time loop doesn't end. At least that's how I feel.
It was truly the most epic portion of the film, it pretty much signified and solidified the causality and reality of what John Conner was running from. I mean the second film showed us the horror of the blast it's self, but IMO the ending show just how easily it truly is for us to wipe ourselves out.
It just might be a reality nowadays, it’s a shame really.. with all the shit happening right now between Russia and the United States, who knows man.. it’s got me worried honestly, Hopefully everything works out and nothing happens...
You not wrong. Will all these nuclear powers in the years to come someone won't be afriad to use them to wipe out half the population of our human race.
@@waterboysixteen Worry abount China and other countries like it. Russia and America just take playful swipes at each other every once in a while but they also understand what a nuclear war would do to them and so never will. China on the other hand has beef with pretty much everyone, especially the west and they aren't as restrained in their use of weapons.
I just love how this song is both sad yet hopeful. Yes, Skynet has successfully killed off most of humanity. But what parts it did not kill off will eventually manage to rally to victory.
Skynet effectively seals it's fate by attacking. Ironic, that in trying to protect itself it destroys itself. Especially since it's creators made it to defend them and are nearly destroyed by doing so. Like creator, like created.
@@petchpm Holy sh!t, Dude, truer words were never spoken! So much utter BULLSH!T these days from people who wanna feel special for their derangements and so many people who blindly support them on their crusade against people's rights to voice their mere OPINION on the topics just coz they think they have a right to not have their feelings hurt! So many people who literally label just about EVERYTHING "racist" and throw that into everyone's face who doesn't agree with them, thereby actually contributing to racism coz resources are diverted from fighting ACTUAL racism to fighting PERCIEVED, NON-EXISTENT racism, making people actually TURN racist coz they start seeing black people as spoiled brats who throw their toys out of the pram if they don't get what they want! So many so-called "feminists" who literally want all men gone over "manspreading" (a.k.a. men sitting down with their legs spread reasonably far apart to give their meat some breathing room), "mansplaining" (a.k.a. men defending thenselves from all the bullsh!t those "feminists" spew) and the ever-present gender pay gap which by now has become so narrow that u can bridge it with a fuckin' toothpick, while men still do by far the most of the hard, dirty and dangerous work that most women are either not physically capable of or simply not WILLING to do! And most importantly and most AGGRAVATINGLY of all: So many fuckin politicians who buy into each and every one of those flawed ideologies and give those people even more power! Yes, indeed, the way things are right now it wouldn't hurt to have some kind of massive disaster to make people focus on things that are actually important, and a global nuclear war would rid the planet of most humans, probably including me (and I wouldn't mind being vaporized in a blast before I knew what was going on). And whatever ideology survives would probably either stand all by itself and no one would be bothered by it or the different ideologies would be scattered so far apart that it simply wouldn't matter. Not until humankind had grown back to a point where the scattered societies would end up having to set new borders for themselves and start fighting over territory anyway. And from that point onward, history would probably repeat itself over and over again. Or, if the surviving ideology was that of such utter snowflakes they'd get "offended" over attacking predators and die trying to lecture them about some made up bullsh!t!
@@DualDesertEagle Damn thats a long ass piece you wrote. I know I said I wish the world is better off getting nuked, but there is still some good left in this world, it's just harder to find nowadays.
@@DualDesertEagle Well the nuclear tension is high right now, and with the whole Russia bound to invade Ukraine anytime now, and Biden sticking his nose in business where it doesn’t belong, there might be a Third World War, which will of course probably most likely lead to nukes.
A fairly emotional song. When John deactivates the bomb and they ask who's in charge there and he says "I am." He realizes at that moment that he must fulfill his destiny. Bravo John Connor!! _ Michael
When the violin fadeout switches into that single horn-note around 2:12, that's what makes hopeful and empowering even despite the over all sad tone of the track. It's as if the song was saying "Alright, Machines, we acknowledge that you drew first blood, score goes to you... but now it's our turn."
This ending saved the movie. Right up until I saw the rundown nature of the facility I thought they would be formulaic and have the good guys win. When this music kicked in I was genuinely moved.. just thinking about the implications of the sequence.
Out of all the unnecessary bad films after Terminator 1 and 2, the third one made its existence tolerable cause of this beautiful ending. Suddenly this film gave us something actually worthy of the Terminator franchise. Much beacuse of its music and how with it, it really did give a feeling of the horros that we had been responsible of our own downfall. Remember this ending made a huge impact on me when I saw it at the age of 13. And that music is soo fitting and beautiful at being sad and hopeful all at once. Reminded me of the beautiful score in the hugh TV show LOST.
I honestly feel like this movie is underrated. Sure, it's not as good as T2 or the original, but it's still a good movie. In fact, I think the reason why most people say it sucks is because of the fact that they had high expectations for it because of the greatness that are the first two Terminator films, and they were disappointed. Like I said before, it's still a good film.
I love this tune so much. Its like the music is saying, "So what if the world is ending? Nothing is forever, just remember all the good times and just embrace what fate has in store for you."
I remember watching this in the theater. I'm sittting there like, "This sucks," when they got to what they thot was the system core. But it was a shelter. Then we hear the radio static, people crying for help, then John picks up the mic. They ask who's in charge there. I IMMEDIATY, before he said was, was like, "OK THIS is now coming full circle. John FINALLYstepped up to the plate."
The first three movies have something in common. They have bittersweet endings. Not happy, but not entirely sad. There's tragedy, but also hope as well. The last 2 films' endings just don't feel like that anymore.
The movie overall was a 6/10, but it’s ending with this song is a solid 10/10. Not just because it was a good twist, but that it also delivered on the cold hard truth that humanity is a doomed species…. and yet there is always hope that our legacy will live on.
Because it wasn't bad at all, it was funnier yes but still. I watched everything in one go,12 hours, and it was absolute fire. Salvation was great, Genesis was really fun and cool with an another bad ending in the story. And DarkFate was decent, not as good as all the other movies soo far
No he did not...future john was desperate to change his fate and thought this one statement would inspire her to do so. Future john never wanted this life, and in his desperation to do so he created an uncertain future where he might die and judgement day started later. In the end, future john did not lie to his mother...john conner lied to himself and now his younger self will pay the price for it.
This is what Genisys and the newer Terminator films don’t have. Those movies have a fake, happily ever after thing going in, while the older Terminator films have more of bittersweet endings.

I didn't have the privilege of seeing this beautiful scene at the cinema, but I've seen the film several times and each time I'm moved by the death of the terminator and the bombs falling all over the world , the person who came up with the idea for this ending and this wonderful song should get the best raise ever 🥺😢
One of the most powerful and bittersweet ending closures to any movie score IMO. It always reminds me of all the people I have lost in my life, particularly family. Never fails to pull at my heartstrings. 💔
I was looking out the window, lidtening to the theme. I cant even explain, it felt like all my years of life cane rushing back, thinking of all the good memories i had as a child, the old toys, old friends i had, the many adventures i gotten through, all now packaged up by the music and released. T3's ending is not only heartbreaking, but it is an absolute beauty of a genre of film that came to exist. Havent watched the movie yet, but the endings theme, is just, pure, beautiful.
Thx for uploading this, I remember the feeling I got when I saw this and the nukes launching. Marco Beltrami captured the moment and made a great piece to go with the sad ending. This song reminds me of John Murphy - Adagio in D minor.

I'd say that the end of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is the most emotional of the Terminator franchise and the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day comes in at a close 2nd place. I first saw T2 when it was first published in the 90's. I was 9 years old and I cried when Sarah Connor was given the task of lowering the T-101 sent to protect John Connor as a 13 year old into the molten steel. I cried even more when I first heard "Radio", from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
I love this movie. Sure its got some goofy humour but it stays super serious especially the ending. Perfect ending to the real Terminator movies. As far as I'm concerned, this was the ending to the franchise.
@@ZERARCHIVE2023 They're NOT supposed to "Shut", it's a SERIOUS thing that could ACTUALLY happen. The hell do you mean "Don't shut" as if that's a bad thing? It's NOT!
great wording at the ending, the perfect ending, perfect score, sad but inpirational, total shock! cant beat the ending! just wish some of the humour was taken out of the film and if was as serious as terminator salvation then this would be my favourite film of all time! never mind the best ending ever!
The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines: The Original Terminator Trilogy-three films that all have sad endings, yet always leave you with a sense of hope. That, right there, is the sign of a great trilogy.
Kinda sounds like a mix between october sky and Armageddon Very emotional, The clip with the multiple ICBMs launching in the distance behind the mid western farm makes me tear up because of the realism, that's what our skies will look like if DEFCON 1 is initiated
Terminator 3 is up there with underrated sequels such as Spider-Man 3, The Lost World Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III just to name a few in my opinion.
Music soundtrack for this movie was beyond magnificent, but the message of the movie nullified everything what was built before it and its ridiculous. In the second Terminator, everything was revolving around the message: "Nothing is predetermined, there is no fate. We are the masters of our own destiny". But in this 3rd movie they are like: "Forget everything what we told you earlier, you are a slave to your fate, everything is predetermined", - and I'm like pikachu face whaaa.
Don't forget that in the second movie, the T-800 said that it's in our nature to destroy ourselves. So the ultimate message could be seen as, "There is no fate but what we make, but it's in our nature to destroy ourselves."
I love endings such as John Carpenter's The Thing that ultimately resolve nothing and spark decades of questions and conversations, or Terminator 3 where the ending is not a Disney fantasy. The ice cold chill of reality and the harsh embrace of the abyss.
The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment day. The day, the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd build to protect themselves. I will never forget what the terminator tought me, never stop fighting and I never will the battle has just began
This song sums up how insignificant and foolish we all are, on a universal scale, nothing matters here, opinions, beliefs, nothing matters. It’s all gone in the block of an eye.
This one scene made this movie tolerable for me. I mean i will never forgive them having the audacity to kill Sarah Connor off-screen, but this scene is freakin' awesome, it's an emotional gut-punch.
T3 is the only post T2 sequel that feels like a legit capper to the story. Salvation really didn't have a dog in that hunt since its technically its own beast... but Genisys and Dark Fate were two creative abortions trying to be "the real T3".
By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would.
Felt sorry for John Connor and Katherine, John was living his nightmare at that moment. It sucks when bad things happen which can't be stopped. The future refused to change.
@@spino-tinodon1146 I remember, Chrono Trigger is a great SNES game. Guess I should have gave the game credit for that line, but a great line which applies to that scene as well. All the best Sergio.
it's really all a matter of perspective, in this case despite the fact that 6 billions lives are lost, we (the viewers) know that we survived judgement day and won the war afterwards. I guess you could say that the music itself catches the emotional reactions from the sorrow of all that death and destruction, the knowledge that we survived judgement day, and that we won the war afterwards, So...yep that about it on my end of things.
I can't not break down everytime i hear this cause it reminds of the state of affairs in this country, the constitutional republic it use to be, it reminds of when my family was completely sane, and it reminds of how trapped I feel by my own self at times. but beautiful score none the less, keep on compsing Marco Beltrami.
GOD, I LOVE this movie, especially the ending!! It wasn't really the machines that nearly wiped out humanity; it was ourselves. This ending captures the T2 T-800's quote PERFECTY, "It's in your nature to destroy yourselves." And it is, we nearly did at the end of this movie.
