I had that Terminator 2 liquid skin injection set. It was an Argos staple for years! Playmates did re-release it for Terminator Salvation, bt not as well thought out I swear Kenner also used it for another license too, I just can't remember what though.
NECA is in factan abbreviation, hence why its all capitals and as such the periods should be in the name seperating the individaul letters. If memory serves me correctly it stands for National Entertaiment Collectors Association or similar
It's kind of funny watching this video in Hindsight. Most of the kenner Terminator 2 toys 8 years later and quite a bit more pricey. I wish I had bought a hole set of them back then when they were still cheap.
Far too many stupid variants. Even as a kid I got a couple of these and was fine with that and wanted no more, which was unheard of. The big terminator is an all-time classic. Found this channel today and it looks like I've got a load of videos to watch.
Hi, thanks for the comment. At the time of making this video (2015) I didn't mention their value because over the years this has changed quite considerably. However, in more recent videos I have been adding this to give people a point of reference.
@@ActionFigureResource To be honest the website is a bit difficult to maneuver but I do appreciate such a guide for the most part I try to reference Ebay I do appreciate all the time that you spend creating such lists
Any Terminator action figure you take there will not be a proper leg articulation (NECA) and that is also a reason people don't buy them as it reduces posability
You guys have earned yourself a subscribe. Any plans on doing an collecting guide on the Alien franchise? There's so much to talk about with that series, like the original 18inch Kenner figure, the unproduced 3 3/4 inch figures of the original movie (that finally saw the light of day thanks to Funko), the 1990s Aliens line which was meant to tie in with a cancelled animated series, the Hive Wars line which was made up of figures planned for the regular Aliens line before it was cancelled and then there's the likes of Hasbro's Resurrection line, and figures produced by McFarlane and NECA.
You forgot Enterbay, same thing for the Batman video - (as much as I love Hot Toys) Enterbay made the best (1/4) Arnold just as they made the best Joker.
you missed a nice piece from mcfarlanes terminator 3 line. they had a great 2-pack with a severely damaged t-800 and the robotic t-x with a nice crashed helicopter diorama.
Hey great review and retrospective. Yeah, so many missed opportunities with the early Kenner T2 toys. They do have the charm and fun of 80's/90's action figure lines though. I do love them for what they were. I did some thoughts on my collection of them too on my channel.
Collecting My Thoughts yes, the 80 + 90s were a great time, action figures were FUN and made to be PLAYED with. I think one of the main reasons for a decline recently is that there is too much emphasis on the collectibility rather than playability.

Very interesting. Thank you for your hard work put into this video.
I honestly like the simplified Kenner style action figures more than the heavily detailed movie-accurate McFarlane or NECA figures. There is more charm in a simple design and you can read more into them.
;) Hi Marco, I agree with tou but the McFarlane and NECA figures still have a place in the hobby. I think the simply style figures appeal more to the 'boys' in us, whereas the others aren't really toys but almost, dare I say it, works of art!
I hear you. I do miss the time when I could afford to get four or five fun, simple action figures. Toys look really great and pretty now with all the advances. However I really do miss the charm and playability of the classic figures and all of the crazy accessories, playsets and vehicles.
@@ActionFigureResource i agree after 2 it went down hill thas y all terminator action figures revolve around T2 dont even let me get started on robocop
Yes, I agree. However, I believe a bigger issue is the very limited production runs and distribution meaning that generally they sell out on pre-order which in turn drives up prices even further.
This is an excellent video. Please consider putting the transcript of the video in the description. That would make it easier for viewers to absorb the information, and it should also raise the video in youtube search results. Thank you.
ActionFigureResource I looked around your website, and I found the podcast that goes along with this video, but not a written transcript. In any case, I admire these videos and find them very informative.
I want to get a lot of them. I'm filming(stop motion) a comic heroes for a day. Dr Doom,Kang,Immortus, have all set a time trap for every heroe. The president has set a holiday for super heroes aside . Brining the heores to Washington DC, the villians send then heroes into the future 2027 .With no heroes to stop them the president passes the Skynet bill.In the year 2027 our heroes are outmatched and outgunned by the terminators .The time portal is still open but only big enough for one heroe to go back through. Skynet has traps ,bombs , hunter killers,T 800 army's ,T 1000 s and power disrupter towers all but one heroe dies to stop this war from happening. Who do you think makes it back?
