Whoever decided to recreate and put that "Thump Thump Thump Thump" from the first Terminator in the music of this mode was a genius. It really does sound like the heartbeat of a mechanical hunter, one you finally get to play as.
Kyle Reese: The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human - sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait till he moved on you before I could zero him.
Seriously, I absolutely commend the developers of this game. How wonderfully true to the first two films they are with everything, especially the overall shady and gloomy atmosphere, and the sound effects. Then the music adds such a rich layer to just bring everything together. Incredible! 😊
The devs weren't a big AAA studio, but they paid their respect to the IP very well with this game. Even the actual Terminator movies themselves have crapped on the IP ever since T2.
When you think about it, this Terminator T-800 model is the second most powerful terminator, first one is T-2 Arnold obv. this one is creative and thinks like human, and doesn't just barge into places like others. rather he plans and takes cover while repairing itself.
This is a T-850. Its a different model than the ones in T1 and T2. The face of this model is of Franco Columbo one of Arnolds real life friends. He was the Terminator that breaks into the resistance base in T1 in Reeses flashback. Franco unfortunately passed away this past year. I like to think the terminator you play as in this IS the same exact one he played in the movie and this is what became of it after that scene.
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq does that matter, the T-850 obviously exists in this timeline, it makes sense to build apon the T-800 platform anyway, sure poly mimetic alloy (edit: i say this in refrence to the T-1000 and T-X) is great and all, but the T-800 has real blood, would be more realistic for blending in in general to have something that can mimic actual bleeding It makes sense to make a stronger more updated model
@@TC70 yes it kinda does since the Arnold that was sent back in T2 is a T800 model 101. T850 is literally "stronger" in the fact it has more thick armor plating in comparison to the 800 and Arnolds only X factor that is could make him "stronger" than a T850 is the fact T2 arnold was taken off his "Read only" mode and allowed to let his AI evolve to full potential.
@@snowfox4704 well even Kyle Reeves in first terminator said, small calliber guns do nothing to t800, shotguns can stagger them, and asallut riffle have fast fireing speed but not shotgun pellets punch, so should do nothing to t800, maybe if it was t600, t400 aka clankers old models, from weaker materials and expose some part of wireing where you can shoot, but t800 not much, but still enjoy the mode kick doors open with slowmo go in with gattling gun, still give me the nice vibe from flashback section from first terminator.
My only nitpick for this mode is that REGULAR bullets can damage you and that humans don’t die as easily to plasma weapons compared to when you play as rivers.
I was thinking the same thing. The Infiltrator is the strongest Terminator you fight in the story and you can't damage base T-800s with standard weapons so the fact that you take damage from the M16 is bs. The minigun turrets in the Resistance bunkers are a little more understandable because those are probably armor piercing rounds. The other thing that gets me is that this is supposed to be before the main story so why do the soldiers already have violet plasma weapons?
@@pirate772009 small design oversite. Cant cover for everything in development especially when your a AA studio and if they stuck to the game lore then the mode would be a bit too overpowered. Gotta balance it somehow to justify the pricetag afterall.
@@pirate772009 In main atory, likely that certain Resistance divisions already had second gen rifles, with South Division not being able to get their hands on some until they decoded the one they got off the T-850
@@pirate772009 Why do you think this is supposed to happen before the story of the main game? You know that in the main game, at one moment Skynet actually starts releasing new infiltrator models and they start raiding resistance bunkers. Perhaps, this is one of those raids that we only hear about in the main game.
I already have ideas on how it could get more love, and that involves more DLC content. There’s also the matter of the infiltrator mode dlc, simply put: Customization. Imagine you can customize your T-800 Infiltrator Unit, not just making your own mesh but also by adding skins of Legendary Terminator appearances from the movies, not just T-800s too but other Terminator Models (imagine a T-1000 skin). And a new mode where the Resistance would have to play cat and mouse or hide and seek, with a T-1000, so many ideas that NEEDS to actually go in this game, Pass-It-On.
They don’t have the budget. The more you play through the story, the more things you see that make you think they didn’t even get to do everything they wanted to do with the base game.
@@pirate772009 can confirm. The final segment really shows how much they wanted to do. You pretty much have no time to really mess around with the 2nd gen plasma weapons and purpIe mod chips. wouldnt be surprised if they wanted to do a mission where you go take down the skynet core. But instead we get connor saying "i sent a team for that." Hell im sure they probably wanted to have more chances to interact with the NPCs and romance options. But alas AA shoestring budgets and this game effectively being ruined by Dark Fates bad reputation and the more bad taste in peoples mouth the word "resistance" has gotten despite it being there long before IRL cringe politics. Theres also the bad rep the DLCs themselves got for being next gen and PC exclusive when you know....no one can really get a hold of a next gen console so easy due to shortages and the sellouts wanting to use them for crypto mining.
They should have ended the DLC with your the terminator that starts shooting everyone in the flashback from the first movie. Dogs goes ape shit and you kill everything.
I think it would've been cooler if they make that part of the gameplay. Instead of just walking around guns blazin, have you try to infiltrate a bunker or a squad and act human, and then BOOM! SURPRISE
@@forsakenoutcast No, Between T1 and T2. The guy you're playing as (Private Jacob Rivers) starts off alone since his pacific division had been wiped out by a T-850 in a bunker (T-850 we see in T1 during Kyle Reese's Backflash)
@@anakinvader9120 this DLC takes place just before the start of the main game explaining why the pasadena resistance was gone and why skynet overran it and of course how skynet got the info on what john conors mothers name was to start the TDE plan. Its HEAVILY implied the attack of the resistance shelter in the game is the actual bunker from reese nightmare of the bunker attack. Reese's nightmare of the HK tank however is actually a flashback due to the events of annihilation line showing the exact event.
Now that I've played Robocop: Rogue City, i can tell where they used a lot of stuff from this game, like when yo breach a door, the right arm comes up and elbows it open, then it's in slow mo for a moment or 2.
I love how you kept the terminator viion during all the gameplay, I always hated how this games like the predator gives you a not termal vision during the gameplay.
Terminators dont breathe and move like anime characters. Terminators hold all guns exept heavy ones like one holds pistols with one arm. Terminators dont crawl around like rats in fear of humans.
@@Longder09 In daylight yes, it's pretty pointless. But during the night it helps you at least to get closer to their outposts. Even in the game, humans don’t open fire immediately, cause they can't clearly see in the darkness
The gameplay doesn't let you feel like terminator at all... Terminators are tanks who stand tall and take out groups of humans with supressing firepower, they don't crawl like humies do...
I hope they release it on PS4 consoles soon. I contacted the game developer and they said its up to the distributor not them to release this for consoles and when I reached out to them I got no reply so it is all in the dark so far
@@deathlock9979 yep they confirmed it's pc and ps5 I got a reply from the developer like 2 weeks later. Disappointing as I'm sure the xbox one and ps4 can handle the dlc content
Loved the overall gameplay, and the idea of a infiltration unit with a main objective that finds out clues of its way through fallen Skynet units, it would be perfect for randomly generated content. It's so good that we can easily oversight a couple things like the comical bouncing corpses or all intel carelessly left unchecked by scavengers and Resistance personnel ("Oh, let me write down where anyone can find the Resistance secret ammo cache on this notebook!"), that was kinda lazy. Even so you can see the developers are true fans of the franchise, the game oozes dedication and care.
I hope we will get a game that is from the perspective of the AI. With different machine types, in which we can be "loaded up", so our memories are brought over into other machines. Preferably with a map the size of NY state, where we can roam free doing quests, or obeying orders more, from said AI (whatever name it might be this time (lol, imagine Echelon or Daedalus)). Something with scraper buildings that have human infestations, or subway/metro tunnels, something large...
Why does it say “patrol neutralised” rather than “terminated?” It reminded me of a recurring nightmare I had where one of these things would hunt me around a lot of tall columns in a small room
I have both the 2019 version which I think this one is and the 2023 enhanced complete version got one hundred percent on the 2019 version and still yet to make it through the complete 2023 version I done Kyle reece scenario just need to do the Terminator mission now
I believe it is. Imagine that... fighting alongside someone you know and they die but then they come back as an infiltrator unit with Evan’s skin and wipe out an entire bunker. Kyle Reese has been through some shit as we see in his flashback in T1.
@@thesinisterconscience1186 not to my knowledge If your playing on last gen consoles then the DLC is unfortunately not available on them for some reason
Was it hard to play with the constant red screen? It is me just watching and the constant red is beginning to affect me so i had to pause a few times. I know the devs wanted it to make it more realistic but at least did they give an option to change the screen vision?
Its scary because in the human campaign the T models don't run....yet in the Tormentor play through you can run....now that's scary....a tormentor that can run....
Well you can see a terminator run in the first movie during the Tech Noir shootout. When Reese and Sarah escaped at the back door, T-800 chases them. But ofc, with his skin still not damaged yet.
It looks great but a little redundant. The human menace is just very gray uniform wearing folks with rifles. No heavy vehicles or other goodies to worry about. They don't set any traps and they don't do anything other than run around like ants with a magnifying glass passing over each one. One T-800 basically killed off two divisions of troops and humanity ever had a chance?
Getting caught off guard can end up being a massacre. This same infiltrator unit is responsible for the massacre in Kyle Reese’s flashback proving the point that once these guys get a foothold they can deliver some serious punishment before getting taken out which he didn’t. He ended up getting to this point, which is the DLC.
He doesn't need any cover. He's endoskelton is invincible mostly. He can take on an army before he gets damaged. He's using covers to attack undetected
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq Sorry for the very late reply, i mean there is no real infiltration, it is just like the normal game, except you are a machine and not a resistance fighter......now if it had you actively as the machine infiltrate a base of resistance fighters, gain their trust and friendship only to terminate them.....then it will feel like an infiltration.....i hope you know what i mean.
This was very painful to watch its just do the same thing over and over, there's not real action also every place you clear out are all the same, the could have done alot better with this game
Just going around from bunker to bunker killing ppl sounds kinda boring. Plus, hiding behind empty oil drums that a M-134A2 Mini gun can't shoot through is pretty lame. And guns of the future can't shoot through walls isn't really much of an advancement, when modern day guns can already do that imo. The saddest part of all this is, when did T-800s hide and crouch behind stuff? Is this a Terminator game or a Rambo game?
