Terra Force 1987 Nichibutsu Mame Retro Arcade Games 

I always remembered this game for being two shoot'em up in one, vetical and horizontal styles.

My most preferred arcade game during school time. There were 3 terra force machines in our small town and nearby and I entered that pub, arcade and fast food stall only for the reason to play terra force.

I used to plau this game in arcade coin operated machine. It was 1988-1989, when I used to go to school. After the end of lessons i used to run to the videogame hall and had fun. Sophisticated and innovative than Space Invaders (1979) game, because of the dual alternate scrolling direction in alternated missions. Horizontal and Vertical scrolling like no other games at those times.

This game brings me lots of memories of childhood. Alas, the starting it's odd since what's the second underground stage was the first one in the version I remember and vice-versa.

Oh I remember it quite well! Y absolute favorite that time. Every day we went off from school, me and my class mate turned immediately into battle. Who was cracking highscore of the other first. Lots of money were spend, not wasted! And always some friends around, locking and encouraging the gamers very loudly! Great times then. Glorious childhood!

This was the only arcade game I could regularly beat with one quarter.

That game...... i lost so much money to this ;) Other games had predictable patterns, but Terra Force...there was always something different. I didn't get as a child that the pattern was, that some enemies appeared at different spots depending on my current position, so they always surprised me and i only ever got to the Boss at 2:20 - never passed him ONCE. It was always unpredictable and very hard for me, because every shot had to be well placed or you missed...no matter how fast you tapped that fire button...it was never fast enough. But the others weren't any better and so almost no one played this, and because of that i could mostly play this arcade alone.

This game is definitely going on the Super Retrocade today! Thanks for the heads up.

Remember this game, used to skip church and go to shop to play this. Finished it when I was 8 years old.

沙羅曼蛇を強く意識した作りだけどやっぱり大雑把に見える でもBGMはキンキンと爽やかでビールみたいな味があるから それだけでも価値がある。 てゆーかショットのパワーアップが終盤に一つだけってずいぶん寂しい。

i was a little kid with 13 yo when this arcade ( Maquina to the kids of Sao Paulo)came on a goods shop near my house. the 3d elements were high top technology and the kids burnout.

I assume that this was a sequel to Terra Cresta. How we miss Nichibutsu.

Remember this arcade game in the local chippy next to the new Zealand story. I loved this game....was never that good though

This game looks like a better version of Capcom's Legendary Wings and Konami's Axelay and Salamander/Life Force.

Despite being a veteran, extremely avid gamer, at 34 I discovered that game this year. And for some reason, I just cannot make it. I literally die in the opening minutes 75% of the time. I have to go through multiple playthroughs just to make it past the first quarter of the first level without burning my first credit. The game mechanics simply provoke pathetic and extremely frustrating mental blocks for me. I've beat a decent number of arcade games in a couple credits over the years, and while I certainly don't consider myself exceptional I still grant myself a bit above average level (simply because of dedication, no particular talent) when comparing my skills to those displayed online. But this particular game simple beats me, and I do not understand why. I simply can't handle anything it offers. Go figure. Enemy wave patterns, I can't go past it. Enemy random shots ? I take 90% right in the damn face. Proper alignment to kill ground enemies ? I just miss most and they take off and once in the air I cannot handle them AND the other scrolling obstacles and enemies at the same time. Every single piece of creative challenge basically destroys me. Every single wave is a crude challenge I have to sweat in order to pass. Every. Single.Wave. Right from the start. I miss and get shot say 50% of the time in every playthrough and can't seem to build experience whatsoever, it moves too randomy, too fast, from too many directions, I get lost, I block. I never, ever happened to me in any game, even those I quit without beating. And I'm still rather good at Shmups like R-Type, THunder Cross and the like, but this one ? I cannot even imagine beating it in less than say a hundred credits overall (if I assume I quit for the day once I get destroyed too much, it goes to a thousand, I'm not kidding). Anyone feeling the same extreme difficulty here every step of the way, or is it just me stuck with this one's philosophy ? I feel like i'm totally powerless, and have never been so close to hating a game in my entire gaming life, I swear.

And I remember another game at the same machine you could switch into. A calmer game, beautiful graphics for these days, but I don't remember the name. You were a boy chasing different sizes of bubbles all around the world with different types of weapons. Once you hit the big bubbles the bursted into smaller ones and again and again. In different locations all around the world! I remember Taj Mahal, North Pole, London Bridge, the Red Place in Moscow and many others. Does anyone remember the name of the game and maybe where to find?

So basically Gradius and Xevious had a baby.
