I figured it was only a matter of time until some genius would figure out how to use the in game terrain editing tools with the machines that could theoretically do that work in game. The mod creator deserves a medal for this!
its really such a hack way to go about doing it but you work with what you got and the modder did an amazing job doing so. i can see giants making this an official feature in their next iteration as long as support stays high which im sure it will.
This is incredible ! Starting to get FS22 into my line of work. Very nice video, well done. Just some food for thought; when back-filling come at the lower ground from different angles. it will give you a smoother finish. Also I know you are not any form of operator, but equipment- operator 101; NEVER leave the cab with the Boom or Bucket hanging in mid-air. Realistically there is between 2000 and 2700 PSI going through those hoses, and when a Boom Hydraulic hose blows, it can really do some considerable damage.
This is Truly A game changer been wishing for something like this since FS19 . When they get it all figured out which by looking at should not take long, Its going to be awsome. Excellant Vid ran across this the other nite. you know if it only painted the ground it would be so cool, but to landscape too is . WOW!
it really is i was doing a logging play threw where i used the landscape tool to make forests out of fields. ive been using this to make roads and it works really well if your good with the in game tool you will be good with this too. its better for details then the tool believe it or not because you can get a closer view and see a little better it is slower tho but if thats the gameplay your after that literally dont matter it turns a means to a end into a gameplay feature
This mod is amazing. Figured out the if you put the High Dump bucket on the the skid steer, you can set the modes (both) to Smooth and put whatever paint texture you want and then you drop the bucket on to the ground, go in reverse, it creates a really smooth landscape. Just like in real life with dragging the bucket. Plus you can drive your path to see if you missed any spots. Also having the debug mode on helps a lot to see the effected area. The dots will turn different colors when the landscaping is happening.
this will be a great addition to the game that is for sure the farmers are all going to turn into landscape farmers now as this will allow so much game play to be added
This mod is so far beyond what I was hoping for with Giant's updates to Landscaping, I can't believe it! This is like a whole other game mode within FS!
This kinda shows how good this game's engine is, that it allows this sort of expandability. Just think about a server with dirt crews, construction crews, road paving crews, farm crews.. It'd be crazy!
This will be amazing when I do actually upgrade to FS22. Mudding and offroading will be much easier to simulate now, that I can do this, and make the ground super rough (Which is excruciatingly painful to do with the landscaping tool). Also, when the TCBO Mining Economy Map (Specifically V4.0 which has the best open pit mine I've ever seen in FS19) gets upgraded, this mod, combined with that map, is going to be insane! Anyway, awesome video! Hope you have a good day, man! Keep it up!
This is incredible, especially so early in the game's life cycle. This makes things like dump trucks, scrapers, and bulldozers so much more useful as well. I can't wait to build a farm while completely using the Terrafarm mod to do the landscaping.
Couldn't agree more Joshua (Hi by the way havn't seen you for a while!) I think this has so much potential, it's still very much in beta too so I think there's lots more to come
So basically he's using the equipment as the cursor under the landscaping algorithm, that's just genus. This has so much potential it isn't funny, I will definitely be getting this mod and following his progress for sure, thanks for demonstrating this Mr Farmsim Guy.
That is exactly what it does I took a peek at the landscaping code, it basically has an underlying system that actually changes the terrain and the landscape cursor just tells that underlying system what to do in a series of steps. That change to the landscaping system made this possible. The bucket is sending the same updates to the terrain manager as the landscape system does.
@@codydevogt373 go to the link The Farmsim Guy has in his description, download the mod, then go to your downloads folder on your pc, then drag that zipped folder to your desktop, then click on "Documents" look for a folder - my games- Farming Simulator 22- mods. Drop the new mod in the mods folder and enjoy.
This is so cool! I wish there was an accurate partial simulation of materials! That would be really amazing! Seems like they certainly could break down the existing animation effects into at least 20-30 frames instead of 'insta' load and dump, LOL. The level detail looks like is is several motions, but the digging is needs to be smoother and more segmented. Anyway... someday! Great video! Between the heavy machine ground shaping, and the built in scenery editor, worth it just for those components. Time to buy the farm sim controller/steering wheel! I have pedals, so this will all be a lot of fun! (even thinking there must be a way to add backhoe boom swing pedals or such ;)
Thanks FSG. That was interesting, but you need an update because some of the controls have changed. I'm on Elk Mountain, but can't yet get the excavator to dig.
Yes, it’s had a bit of an overhaul since this vid, but @Argsy Gaming has a fantastic tutorial on the latest version relating to Elk Mountain too 👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3E_NzcXH5fM.html
I downloaded and installed the mod in the mod folder and loaded the game. I enabled it in the mods menu and I can't seem to get anything to work. I can't figure out what's wrong!
I think I figured it out. Only some of the equipment seems to have this ability, but not all that does work. Maybe it's a glitch with the update like my clutch not staying bound even though it's still listed on the key bindings page. But I got a front-end loader, a big wheel loader, and an excavator that all seem to do the work ok. Now we just need the grading machine and the steam roller to work and we can start building roads.
So, the feature is actually embedded in the implement, right? So, using the specific front loader bucket with the mod, you can excavate using a $50k tractor? If so, fantastic, as you can get into this EARLY in your game rather than waiting to afford a $400k excavator.
Now I realize why everything is defaulted to stone - because stone is a valid supported filtype, dirt/soil is not. If he can add filltypes to your game (that can be dumped on the ground) without a custom map, that is indeed revolutionary as that was NOT possible in FS19 - custom crops required custom maps, always. That would mean someone could make a corn silage baler...and it wouldnt have to be hooked to the map. Maizeplus of course added filltypes, but basically all maps had to update to support MP+'s filltypes.
love using the terrafarm. only downfall is the fill types, only the stone works 100% to fill buckets all other fill types i can only get max 30% full buckets, this mod is gonna be awesome cant wait for more kinks to get fixed
Yes other fill types aren't base game map fill types so there's going to have to be some more work to get those sorted, but I've full faith from what I've seen so far that this is going to continue to develop into an amazing mod
Anyone know how i can re-enable Terrafarm? I disabled it since I wasn't ready to use it, after I got to the point I was ready, I cant open the menu using "Z". I tried it on a different save, redownloading the mod, deleting the modsettings. Nothing I can do open that menu. help !!!!!!!
Hello! I love this mod, but how do you add custom buckets to work? I've done it before somehow but I can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere anymore...
@@TheFarmSimGuy Yes, I remember that but I'm having trouble locating the exact one :D If you could point me into the right direction I'd be very grateful!
@@TheFarmSimGuy awesome thanks man sweet vid BTW.. do you play multiplayer much? I've been playing farm sim since fs19 first appeared and I've never played with any one else before lol
So I’m still trying to figure out how to get this mod. I’ve downloaded it from the GitHub link and got it in my mods folder but it’s not doing anything in game? Any suggestions?
Awesome informative vid. I think Yukon Valley map has the factory that takes dirt. But people who do mining will be able to correct me. Mining is not my thing :)
there is no option to turn it on. do you know of a tutorial to correctly download the mod? all i can find is what the mod is like in game but not how to get it in the game
Hey Mr farmsim guy, can you put a link directly to the front loader you're using? I tried to find it at that link to Facebook, but can't seem to find it.
Hay guys I need some help I have the mod but it only lets me paint the ground it doesn’t dig and when ever I have it enabled the landscape tool doesn’t work I think there’s conflict between the two somewhere can some one help me please I really want to use this mod
I have downloaded the terrafarm mod and its in the mods folder but when i run the game it wont work, like it there and i have it enabled before i run the map but no new options come up, what do i do lo
Have you downloaded any of the specific vehicles that work with it? There is a list on the GitHub page, the options only show when you are in a vehicle that works with TerraFarm
You lowered the ground slightly, so if you link it to the waterway, will it fill up? If you close the channel, will still have water in it? Or it will dry up?
@@TheFarmSimGuy Thank you, it will not show up in my game mod list, it is on my mod list, showing it is on the system and in game but no matter what i have tried, even using the machinery you have listed. I am trying uninstalling the game and starting over, going to install it first before all other mods. this stinks for my gameplay videos for my channel, but I want to make videos with this mod.
I tryed now Get my friend Volvo EC750el exovator with TerraFarm but it just wont work i tryed download the exovator for many other places too but it just wont work with it😑
I was hopeful but it won't remove those darn boulders on No Man's Land...unless i'm missing something. It's definitely adjusting the terrain around the boulders though =(
It should remove some of the boulders that are just landscaped, but some of the others are actual placable rocks which you won't be able to sort with Terrafarm
Thx for mods and video. I have a problem with this mod....I can paint, but can't dig in. And all buckets is constantly empty and no fill. Where's a problem?
@@TheFarmSimGuy i figured it out but on FSminers mining pack i downloaded it and installed it in the right folder but i get this; MISSING 'FSMINER' IN L10N_EN.XML" and was wondering if you knew how to fix it?
hello m friend ! thanks for all the tutorials ... but how did you install the terra farm mod \? i CAN NOT get it to work ... i see it on my mod screen.. i have the prompt to enable it .. i can change the fill type and the paint type but the ground WILL NOT lower as it is supposed to do. the buckets do not fill as they are also supposed to do ! please help ! i love the mod and the possibility to play as a miner-construction type ... love from Greece !
@@TheFarmSimGuy it does . BUT, the ground only changing collor. it will not fill the bucket, wont lower or do anything else ! is there a spesific way to install the mod ? or is it just like anyother mod ? i have the lates version and everything but i can not make it work !!! thanks in advance for your time !
I did the same mistake as he mentioned at 1:22, and after re-installing terrafarm it now won't work. It appears in the "installed mods" tab but not when I am about to start or continue a savegame. Please help if anyone got useful tips here.
