I like how you wrapped the foam core around the xps floors. I've been collecting various tubes and containers to make a modular castle that can be used for storage as well. I might wrap them in foam core, texture and paint the components. Of course, given the dearth in free time my life currently affords, I may have to settle for wrapping them in print and paste paper craft.
I think the issue with the foam core sheets wrapping the towers may have to do with the grain of the foam core. I’m betting that if the tower that didn’t want to wrap were turned 90 degrees, it may have curved better. Also, I’ve noticed that sometimes one side of the foam core will take a pattern better than the other. Excellent build, sir! Also I appreciate your sharing is the issues during the build and what you didn’t care for at the end for gameplay function. Thank you!!
