Awesome! Most terrain tutorials are too generic, and really only show how the basic things work. Also, it's super straight to the point, only useful tips throughout the whole video. Maybe the best Unity tutorial I've ever seen.
@@sketch3436 Yeah it made me ditch using fancy skyboxes as the dust clouds are 3d and look way better and there settings can be changed more so that is a great tip
I'm soooo happy someone has finally done a video like this. Good helpful tips that not everyone who's really just starting out might be aware of and a proper voice-over and isn't sped up. Love more like these in the future.
I've never built a game before, but I find world building to be incredibly fun and relaxing. I spent some time in a few other engines in the past. I'm just starting with Unity. This is the second of your videos I've seen. They are really well made and informative. Thank you.
It's awesome to hear that you enjoy world-building, since, that is the same reason that I decided to learn Unity and just programming in general. It can take a bit of time to learn an engine (I find Unity was the easiest for me to grasp when I was looking at other engines) but it will pay off, the ability to craft your own worlds and then walk around them is an awesome feeling. Also, thanks, it's nice to hear that you find my videos informative 😊. Good luck with learning Unity!
I gave the terrain tools a try before watching this video and felt so uncomfortable trying to make a terrain. After this video everything is more clear and will definitely improve my experience!! Thank you so much
Your The Only Guy On RU-vid Who Is Willing to actually teach unity and straight to the point not a whole lot of BS talk much love Where is The Patron Page?
Loved this video. Some of the others were more advanced than my current terrain skill set but this video definitely pointed the way. I am combining it with a Brackeys Video to create my first terrain. TYVM.
Another subscriber here. I hope you never change brother. You don't hide the little details that matter and give useful information, a thousand thanks! In a sense, I'm glad you aren't that famous but I hope other indie game devs find you as well. They will gain so much time and concise knowledge. I will be unsubscribing from tons of youtube game dev channels, you just demolished a huge % of them! If you end up having a Patreon or something I would subscribe. Cheers brother!
sifting through some really basic and shitty tutorials and I find this gem. Why doesn't this one have millions of views? I actually learned something new, how about that.
If you worked on Kingdom Come Deliverance, then kudos for creating the most believable outdoor environment I've ever seen in a computer game. KCD and Dayz have the best looking nature i.m.o. and KCD looks absolutely stunning. Love your work!
I really liked this video: it was concise and informative. I'm currently trying to make something along the lines of your river scene. For an upcoming video, it might be nice if you made a scene of some description but talked through your assets, brushes, etc. This would be really helpful for beginners like me! :-) Thanks!
Thanks, it's awesome to hear that you enjoy my content. It's interesting that you mention a video like that as I actually plan for one of my next videos to be a follow along level design, using free assets so everyone has the ability to recreate exactly what I create :)
Thank you for this tutorial i was unsure of how to make terrains and especially mountains it really helped me understand better and want to be a game designer I just don´t have the funds for a computer I can use. But I will get one.
I have been watching your videos for only few day, and they are great. I wonder why you're not updating your channel. Anyway your videos help me a pot (for being a beginner) Thanks man..🔥🔥
That was very interesting and explanatory, thank you very much! If you do another, it would be cool if you could show tips about the new terrain system :)
Thanks, it's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the video I will probably upload a video about the new terrain system as soon as I am confident with my knowledge about it 😊
Extrem Nice Starter Video !!! I learned a few things thank you ! :D No im even not so sad like i was cause i lost all of my whole project thorugh a crash.(It was my first Map... :c) But now i have a lot new technicques to advance my whole mapping, great thanks to ya ! c:
Absolutely love this video! Gave me so much information before I start. I was wondering, can you do a tutorial on how to start with terrains? Like a beginners guide? And do we have to use the Render Pipelines like LWRP or can we just do it in the standard 3D Template?
That's awesome to hear and also thanks for the suggestion. Regarding render pipelines, the terrain system is in all of them so you can choose whichever one you want. However, I would recommend starting off with the standard 3D template.
I was absolutely floored by the realism of Kingdom Come Deliverance's world. The insane attention to detail on every little path is just mind-blowing. I didn't realise how rubbish other games looked until I played KCD. It's now my benchmark for realistic nature scenes.
