I'm honestly surprised and happy by how many other video game references Split mod melee weapon has, especially those from Genshin Impact! Can you guys discover all of the other video game references? :p
Goes great with spirit mod at least in prehardmode cuz both have very high quality and semi similar art. And they both have a lot of personality in their bosses

I was surprised to see the primordial jade in the game. I haven't played genshin impact in 8 months which was around the time when xiao came out. But seeing it in terraria, it just looks so cool and it doesn't require gacha to get
i have played trough this mod about 5 times alredy and i gotta say that it has a level of polisch i see rarely in mods also glad you are making terraria content once more keep it up git
I played melee when I played split and the weapon choices were pretty bad. I made most of the weapons but for most of hardmode and pre hardmode I just used the Stella. All the other weapons felt pretty weak
@@yeetskeet4229 that’s how it is with split weapons need a lot balancing that bow u get from the underworld domain is legit on the level of golem maybe even the pillars
Unfortunately as cool as the reference is the weapon is so so at best because terraria emphasises single target primarily so on kill effects are significantly less busted

fun fact! the ceremonial knife is a reference to an item is risk of rain two; the ceremonial dagger is a weapon that summons mini knifes every time an enemy is killed, that home in on nearby enemies.
So i checked the weapon page on Split mod wiki and found: Xiao's Jade Winged Spear Precitipation (it's functionality is very much similar to Ganyu charged shot) Albedo rod (ah yes our favorite alchemist)
I just realized the Solstice weapon is a reference to an indie game named oneshot the name of the true ending where the main character finds her way back home. This is backed up by an enemy in the mod named One-shot
Chikage is a reference to a weapon from Bloodborne of the same name. Summit Breaker might also be a reference to Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane from Yu-Gi-Oh! since it uses an attack titled “Great Summit Breaker” but the reference to Summit Shaper is more probable considering they had already implemented a weapon from Genshin. Also I noticed that Starlight Breaker’s laser attack makes the same noises as Providence’s lasers from the Calamity Mod.
This video made me install this mod and play terraria again, thanks :D btw. "Burn my Dread" may be a reference to Persona 3 theme song with the same name.
There are some smaller references in the weapons as well. Momento Mori carries a striking resemblance to Dante’s “Rebellion” with it’s skull mid part and “v” cross guard, and Burn My Dread is a direct reference to Persona 3. Bury the Light is also the name of Vergil’s theme song from DMC 5
I'm not that much into modding but I'll definetly give this one a try, none of these weapons act like vanilla ones, it's really respectable that they wanted to do their own thing rather than just making a sword shoot a lotta projectiles
for a second i thought the same with antartic oscillation, since ror2 also has a track with the same name. might be a stretch though, even though this mod has a few references. Ceremonial knife is definitely a reference.
I found 2 genshin impact references the Stella Fortuna and Welking the Stella Fortuna is a item every character has their different version of the Stella Fortuna it is used to unlock the character’s constellations as for Welking I think it’s a reference to Welkin Moon which is something you can buy using money in genshin impact I most likely missed some I only started genshin impact one month ago well unless the claymores count since in genshin greatswords are called claymores
The most OP sword in this mod is actually Solstice... It's extremely OP and a great item, can compete with some of the Calamity weapons. The reason? Dat auto homing slashes

I immediately clicked the video when I saw the windfall in the thumbnail It just obviously looked so much like Xiao's weapon- (Unfortunately I don't have Xiao and his weapon cuz I played genshin around when Hu tao was first released-)

I just finished a melee run with split mod and I found the terraquet to be the best endgame weapon in terms of dps (though I haven't tried starbreaker at the end). I basically used the stella fortuna yoyo up to golem until I got the terra raquet.
I think mods show me the biggest issue with Melee in vanilla, it feels like the Devs have been scared of pulling early punches, let melee do some funky stuff early to prep us for even more insane and intresting stuff later
Wow Split mod has really good weapons! Also, has a very great animation and attacks. Might be perfect for 1.4 Tmodloader 10:11 Solstice: First fractal but way better 10:51 Windfall: Reference to Genshin Impact? Bois, we need Primogems for that 12:50 Call me out We need Primogems because the reference might need some charges
