Would be real cool if they gave us blocks that moved like pistons or gears. That way we can make transformable techs. Oh, lathland this is a little trick for getting closer to large techs. Place a single cap or some other small craft, maneuver it to the area you are inspecting, then boom, you can get very close. People, please upvote this comment so lathland can see it. No I don’t go from video to video leaving comments and asking for upvotes, I just think it is helpful, but only if it is seen

*@Lathland **10:46** **_To reduce lag from crafting:_* Don't store resources in silos, instead compress it into resource blocks as soon as possible. (preferably GeoCorp) Then use a scrapper for each resource type to de-construct the resource blocks to provide material for crafting. So instead of having 90 resources per 3x3 Silo (times however many silos you have) that causes lag because the resources are objects in the world that constantly has to update their position & rotation & be rendered & stuff. You can instead have 120 resources per (geoCorp) resource block times like 5 (or however many blocks a Scrapper can hold) and only those 5 blocks has to be rendered, the rest are just mostly unchanging data that takes almost no CPU power & causes no lag (and it's safe to use, even when saving & loading the game). (You will probably need a 1x1 silo for each resource type to provide the resources for the crafting, but if you can find a way to avoid that it would be awesome!)

lath if items fly off the base the SCU wont grab it in time u need a magnet to pull the crafted blocks the SCU will the automatically take it

I probably would've done Large Air Rigs for the whole thing. Maybe even make it even larger scale, so you have a 3x3 of Large Air rigs. I'm not 100% sure what you'd do with all the space, but enclosed hangars would be really cool.

Can the sides that are for the hanGar be the weapons? maybe MISSILES or Bombs or Lasers or MISSILES or Flamethrowers or MISSILES or BOMBS

You could try make the various sections have a pill shape, maybe the center one could be longer and have some kind of comm tower on top with loads of solar panels. This design would enable you a generally cleaner look but also give you the space to stack hangars and production sections, just an idea.

Nice trick for base-building: run resources into a 2x2 silo and have filters pulling their assigned items off. It works really well, especially if you want to avoid possibly clogging your system.

Can I suggest naming the base The Lookout? The first form without the arms reminds me of Kami’s Lookout from Dragonball.

Lathrix quick request you should make a little place for flying your little battle drones off and maybe recharging somehow

Gotta say, the sky anchor is probably the greatest single piece in the game. Weirdly, it's a positive delight for land vehicles, particularly with those crazy geocorp wheels.

Lathrix there is now a resource receiver for Better Future that can collect resources shot up from the surface via delivery cannon. I'm not sure if it works properly but I thought I'd let you know. However, I doubt you'll even see this

@Lathrix, are you not running the latest version of Terratech? i have noticed that scrapping on a sky base can be very tedious, however scrapping on the ground and using the Better Future Air Receiver to catch resources shot up by delivery cannon is not only less frustrating, but also very visually satisfying , just an idea

A thought on your selling the components section; if you filter into a silo, you can attach the mobile cannons to the silo and sell them that way, but the silo will mean there is less chance of the filters getting backlogged and missing a few components. also works well with mobile furnaces. however, seeing as you are going to be quite fast, I would recommend using Venture conveyors at least, as they will hold resources regardless of speed, where most of the others will drop stuff at higher speeds.

For the sky base, Placing a linear motion engine facing each direction would give you added mobility without turning.

I wonder if making a sling shot with the sky anchors is feasible, all you'd have to do is pull a tech far away from the anchor point, then let go when you want it to sling.

You know you experimenting with designs in that flat test area feels mundane if you tried building in survival it adds a risk factor and makes it more exciting

Hey lath I have an idea, why not have the drone attached to the base via explosive bolts? That way you can potentially make it so when the drone is attached it looks like part of the base by default only to reveal it is separate and flies independently
