Terrible Melee Tier Lists (Stream Highlight)

I very recently attended a Melee major in the UK called Fête 3 so I've had Melee on the brain lately, it was extremely fun but while I wait for my voice to recover from screaming at Melee I figured I'd do another one of these stream highlight vids, been ages since I made one and they're always a ton of fun.
If you've never caught one of these streams or a previous stream highlight vid, this is basically how I'd rank the Melee characters in relation to scenarios that have basically nothing to do with Melee, also Mario is evil

i really love the dumb little storylines you've made with these tierlists luigi being a basement dwelling 4chan gremlin and then turning his life around and becoming a genuinely nice guy, popo being in a bad place and nana helping him out of it, and mario seeming like your average run-of-the-mill everyman but actually being a horrible person and slowly being more and more vocal about it and also kinda ruining his life are all strangely compelling

I feel like Ness is getting a storyline, too. My best read is that while he and Young Link both fell into holes of the internet, Young Link's mostly stuck in the 'safe and innocent but weird and possibly fucking up his development' areas, while Ness fell into the 'edgy dudebro gamers to far-right bigotry' pipeline and has only recently realized the problem and started doing better.

The Donkey Kong lore is insane. Like, I aspire to be the person Donkey Kong is. Even though DK lives a below average life, he still is happy about everything. I like to think the death of Funky sent DK into a dark depression, but instead of succumbing to his grief, he chose to view live as a gift, one that can be taken at any point. He knows his brother live his life to the fullest, so in honor of that, DK chooses to spend each day valuing the life he has.

I’ve played a smash game exactly once and I’m a complete outsider to melee, but somehow a lot of these batshit insane headcanons make sense to me. Like, of course Peach listens to true crime while filing her taxes, of course Donkey Kong would feel the need to become a criminal after not paying for parking once and of course Zelda sneaks out to pride parades as Sheik. Work tier list: I’m somewhere between the “randomly incredibly productive or unproductive” and “slow but consistently does good work” tiers. I struggle to get in the headspace to actually do work, but if I ever get there, I just do a big massive burst. If I want to write something, I might get hung up on my next sentence or just not want to write that day, then write the entire rest of the scene in one go once I finally get over that hurdle.

I like that Luigi is canonically bisexual with Superstar Saga, and supportive of Mario if he's wearing Peach's wedding dress in Odyssey. I would disagree with Mario being anti-LGBT considering he's been kissed by 2 trans women in the Paper Mario series, and helped one of them get out of an abusive family, but if Dr Mario is separate, Paper Mario would be too.

I appreciate all the kind words guys. I do unfortunately have a rather “traditional” family so I can’t fully embrace my queerness yet but I should clarify that I’m decently comfortable with myself atm. I identify and nb and can freely express that with my friends and coworkers :)
