Terry Sylvester at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. 

Terry Sylvester replaced Graham Nash and did a bloody good job of it, their best songs come from the Sylvester era, Terry's voice is so pure, angelic, haunting and dead smooth, quite distinctive, you can always pick out his most beautiful voice from when he is singing harmonies, every song. There and I haven't even had to say anything negative about Graham Nash!

Terry didn't crash the stage. He walked on stage, tried to join in (imagine that, an actual Hollie on stage with Nash/Clarke & assorted non-Hollies), spoke w/ the non-Hollie who was wearing a t-shirt (oh my!), sang a verse, and didn't cause a scene when Clarke rudely took the mic away. I love Terry's loyalty to Robin BRITTEN, the manager that set up the Hollies to be secure financially. Terry & Bernie were right to not want to fire him in 1981, bec it didn't help the Hollies after all.

@NewHopeNashFan I went to Terry's concert last Fri. night & I wanted you to know that there was no Nash-bashing. The concert was in Cleveland & Terry simply spoke of how proud he was to be inducted into the RRHoF as a member of the Hollies. I had the pleasure of speaking with Terry after the concert, & he is one of the most positive, upbeat persons I've ever met. He's also considerate to his fans, bec he had a sore throat/cold & yet signed autographs & spoke with us. I'm proud to be a Terry fan!

@TuneKritiq I knew you wouldn't respond to the fact that Terry was NEVER asked to leave but Nash WAS! You thought you were so clever to pose the possibility that Terry could be asked to leave, but since it didn't happen, you proved my point that he was a valued member of the group. Thanks! By the way, all were equal members of Hollies Ltd. & any could be asked to leave. None were employees of the others.

I am a neophyte when it comes to the internet. I never really went on it til last summer, so I wouldn't know the first thing about running a website. I don't speak for Terry, but met him for the first time last month after his concert. He was very positive & made no comments abt the induction other than that he's proud to be in the RRHoF. I'm just a loyal fan that won't sit back & let you spread lies abt him bec of your Nash obsession.

You could at least thank me for educating you. You stated that none of the 3 major hits by the Hollies post-Nash were written by any of the Hollies. Most Hollies fans know Allan Clarke wrote LCW along with 2 very successful songwriters, Roger Cook & Roger Greenaway. Clarke left the group, LCW was a hit, & it was Terry Sylvester who sang it on world-wide tours in 1972-73. In fact, I became a Hollies fan when I saw Terry singing LCW on the Midnight Special. He does have a connection to the song.

His high harmonies were the best!!

Allan does rock!!! I hope Allan had a great 70th birthday yesterday! Allan had THE BEST voice!! I want to thank him for the hours of listening pleasure he's given us Hollies fans over the years. I love many songs that Allan wrote like Don't Let Me Down, Give Me Time & Lonely Hobo Lullabye (both written w/Terry), Mad Professor Blyth, and even the much-maligned Eleanor's Castle. It's a shame Allan didn't have the successful solo career he so desired.

@NewHopeNashFan Thanks for making my point! Not enough people were interested in seeing Nash in 1983 & therefore the tour flopped!

First of all, I don't have to account to you anything abt Sylvester. Second, I love his songwriting (I Had A Dream, Pick Up the Pieces, & Indian Girl to name a few). They are hits w/me bec of his beautiful words, sentiment, and voice. Most of my fav songs are album tracks that weren't released as singles. His songs touch my emotions. Third, Terry's crystal-clear high harmony is the sound that makes Hollies songs so special to me. His singing makes me happy. Sorry you don't get that w/Nash.

YOU evade the fact that the Hollies had their biggest hits AFTER Nash left & when Terry was in the group, so I like to remind you as much as possible. The Hollies have countless excellent album tracks from the Sylvester era. Jesus Was A Crossmaker, sung by Terry, was chosen by acclaimed director Cameron Crowe to be in his movie Elizabethtown. But then what does he know?

@TuneKritiq Read this v-e-r-y slowly bec the interview I'm referring to is The Hollies-Allan, Graham, Tony, Bobby Interview 1983 (Part 1) In the beginning, Nash even points to Tony to say his name! Later, Nash talks abt Elton John playing piano on He Aint Heavy which Nash had NOTHING to do with, & he directs Tony to answer a question. Tony even says "Thank you Graham" which makes my point. Nash finally directs Bobby to answer a question. Check out the posts. Others noticed this too.

It was not Allan's night. He was not being inducted as a solo artist. It was the Hollies night & it's not up to Nash to decide to make it all about Allan. He did this bec then Nash could shine the spotlight back on himself as Allan's BFF loyally sitting by his side. Wait a minute, you admit Nash was in charge & he decided who the night was going to be about. Just as I've said all along!! Gotcha!!

Thanks for bringing the rehearsals up bec I have a question Why did Bernie & Eric need to go to 3 days of rehearsals to practice sitting in the audience??? Or did Nash & Clarke need 3 days to explain why Bernie & Eric were to sit in the audience while Nash & Clarke took all the glory for the Hollies success w/a bunch of non-Hollies? You also mention Monahan (or whatever his name is) didn't know Terry's name. Wow, what a great choice to be on stage & he doesn't even know bandmembers' names!

@TuneKritiq Terry was a fantastic high harmony singer,songwriter, & better musician than Nash. We all know Nash's limitations on guitar. Jokes about his guitar not being plugged in have a grain of truth to them, don't they? Terry's voice was a better match w/Allan's as it didn't overpower or screach over him as Nash did. Tony Hicks admitted Terry's face was THE image of the Hollies & we all know Terry stands up for himself (RRHoF). So much for blending in & not ruffling feathers!!

The dishonesty was when you assumed new usernames & didn't explain that it was NewHopeNashFan who had forgotten her password. That was the story, wasn't it See, I have a GREAT memory!! You've NEVER outsmarted me & never will!!

@TuneKritiq It's not the pot calling the kettle black bec I don't purposely go to Nash's videos to trash him like you do Terry. Sorry if you don't get the difference. Funny you bring up asking someone to leave the Hollies, bec according to Tony Hicks, Nash was asked to leave bec he kept stringing the other members along & when they'd want to get together, he'd be in L.A. with Crosby. They were quite unhappy with Nash's inconsiderate behavior. Terry was never asked to leave was he?!!

@TuneKritiq Oh, I've seen him give direction alright! I thought I was going to hear an interview with the Hollies, but it turned into the Graham Nash Show. He did most of the talking. It's hysterical listening to him go on & on abt the Hollies recording He Ain't Heavy when he had NOTHING to do with it!! Then, he ever so graciously DIRECTS which Holiie should answer which question. @NewHopeNashFan Thanks for coming around to my argument that the Hollies DID make it to the RRHoF on their merit bec that's NOT what you said before. I know it's painful to you & Nash but the Hollies BIGGEST hits came with Terry in the group, not Nash! The Hollies had the same name recognition + Nash rejoining the group briefly in 1983 but their tour, album, & single flopped. I guess everything Nash touches DOESN"T turn to gold!!

Now we're getting to the real issue. Yes, Terry replaced Nash so successfully that you must go to Terry videos to try to tear him down. You can't bear it that the Hollies had bigger hits during the 12 yrs Terry was with the group than the 6 yrs Nash was a member. I guess it threatens Nash's legacy (in your mind.) Oh well, I'll just keep enjoying Terry's videos & communicating with the many nice, cool people there. Nothing interesting on Nash's videos?

Now that's really pathetic to worry about what another guy is wearing. Terry is a huge fan of the Liverpool Football Club & wanted to honor it by wearing their shirt on this special occasion. I happen to love a particular sports team, so I get it. Also, Terry wanted to celebrate the special night on stage where he belonged and not in the audience watching Nash performing Sylvester-era Hollies songs.

After I told you I met Nash in '83, you replied that you had met him, too. See, it's difficult to keep your stories straight & you've had a LOT of stories, haven't you? I've only had one identity, so I don't have that problem. If it makes you feel better, I didn't believe you when you said you met him. What? You had salient arguments? Why didn't I see any of them?

@NewHopeNashFan And a lot of genuine Hollies fans prefer the Sylvester-era when they had their BIGGEST hits! You spend all your time prowling around the Nash-less Hollies so what does that say about you? Btw, I don't hate any of the Hollies. I've said many times that Clarke is the best pop singer of all time & I LOVE some of their early songs. That's why it was so sad that they couldn't let bygones be bygones & not exclude some members bec of their selfish agendas.

Wrong again! Long Cool Woman was co-written by Allan Clarke. Many of the early Hollies hits weren't written by the Hollies such as--Stay, I'm Alive, Look Through Any Window, Just One Look,I Can't Let Go, Bus Stop, Here I Go Again, and Yes I Will so there goes yet another failed argument of yours! BTW, who made you the ultimate arbiter of which songs are "true Hollies songs"?

Ridiculous. Terry, as well as Tony and Bernie were part of the band's most successful phase. They could not have been deleted under any circumstances. Although the Hollies deserve the award, the ceremony was a farce.

@TuneKritiq The Hollies are far superior to CSN & should've made it to the RRHoF years ago on their merit, but most people know Jann Wenner dictates the often questionable choices for nominees. First of all, it helps to be a US artist/group. Second, be politically correct. Third, align yourself with causes (the American media eats that up). The Hollies were overlooked bec they ONLY concentrated on making great music!!
