I renewed my premium connectivity, and then 5 months later was in a crash that totaled the car. Tesla told me I wasn’t able to transfer that subscription to my new Tesla. In my opinion, the $20 a year extra isn’t worth losing more potentially in a situation like I went through.

The price you paid for the vehicle should ensure that you don't encounter any problems with the car. If issues do arise, it suggests that it's cheaply made and unreliable, making it advisable to avoid such a purchase. Regarding the speaker issue you experienced, if Tesla is fully aware that this is a common problem with the vehicle, they have implicitly admitted fault and should rectify the issue without any complications. A mere 48 hours is insufficient to thoroughly inspect a vehicle and identify potential problems. This underscores the poor customer service and after-sales support at Tesla. Problems can emerge over time, and you should not accept blame but rather assert your rights and advocate for your case.

The algorithm to protect battery life means that when battery is new the usage is limited to between 20% and 80%, as above or below that the battery chemistry gets damaged. Now as the time ticks by the algorithm will increase the usage band, from 18% to 92%, then it will use 16% to 94% see the picture - this usage increase is to maintain range, so the range being 'normal' is not a sign of good battery condition..in fact once the range starts to drop the battery is badly damaged. Having an electric car is like having an ICE car with 10 gallon tank, but if you go below 2 gallons or above 8 gallons it damages the fuel tank, and also you cannot fill the fuel tank too quickly it will damage the tank... Frequent fast charging is the death for Li-Ion battery.

With this being bought brand new and having a bumper-to-bumper warranty the speaker should be covered. Anything can break at any time that's the point of a bumper-bumper warranty. I would push for them to replace it even though it's not a big-ticket item.

Interesting your pillar speaker had an issue at time of delivery, it should be covered under warranty and not only for 48 hours.

I just bought a model 3 in Mar. I’ve been exclusively supercharging but only to 100 percent once a week as it suggests. Usually go to 90 percent and so far at 14k miles have no degradation of the battery. Still at 271 miles at 100 percent.

Given the build quality issues Teslas tend to have, buying at the end of the quarter when they are rushing cars out may not be a good idea.

Due to the fact that the terminal voltage of a Li-Ion cell does not vary much between full and almost empty, they have to use 'coulomb counting' to check state of charge. This means checking everything going in and out of the battery, which may drift over time. I once replaced a failed Li-Ion battery on my shaver ( soldered in battery ) and because the old battery was depleted and the new battery was fully charged - after I soldered the new battery in the shaver still flashed its red light ( battery low ) and would not start, so what I had to do was unsolder the new battery, manually discharge it with a light bulb, solder it back in and re-charge it, only then was the shaver happy to run because the control circuit had measured the amps going into battery..... Tricky things those Li-Ion batteries...

One thing I got to say, I wonder why Tesla does not install a 2 stage release on the emergency door release? first is an electronic one while being pulled at 1/3 the open distance, the the second part of 2/3 is the actual manual release for emergencies... that would save loads of hassle.

My apartment complex has 4 electric car chargers on each level of the parking garage. They’re rarely completely full and charge point says they charge 10-20mi/hr. Oh and it’s listed as free. So I am definitely gonna try to get a Tesla next March

So in terms of your speaker issue, that’s absolutely sucks. I did want to however offer my personal experience. My model 3 is over a year old and I took it to my service center since I was using FSD BETA and it took a dip way too fast and bottomed out. The aero shield (the plastic lining under the car) cane lose and cracked. I noticed because of a noise it was making. They not only replaced the aero shield, but they also found other noises within the cabin that they dealt with. This was all covered under Goodwill. I only say this to let you know how above and beyond my service center goes and that it may be worth looking into trying to schedule an appointment with a different service center. I had tried to address noise complaints with a different service center a year prior and they kind of messed things up more. This last visit they apologized for the other service centers work and the technician that rode along the test drive with me said the other service center is tiny so if you do look into scheduling an appointment with another location, perhaps check the volume they can handle.

(Reposting with just a little slightly better grammar. Not perfect grammar) With new chinese model 3 filings out it’s become clear that at least in china M3P batteries on all models will be released, 556km and 675km or 345 mi and 420 mi. almost exactly what CATL said the models could do with new batteries . Which makes me wonder if the model 3 in the US will have 4680 batteries in them due to the fact that when reported in china it was only confirmed that the model 3 standard range would receive the M3P battery and likewise in 2024 the model y would receive the BYD battery for the standard range model. if it was the case that all model 3’s models would be using the M3P why stagger releases? because even with a surplus they still produce the current model 3 in the US. if they were using the M3P battery they would’ve stopped production in order to remove the surplus. it seems that they’re waiting on something and I believe that it’s most likely the new 4680 battery factory next to Fremont(It can’t be for the cybertruck because because of filings it’s meant to produce 4680 batteries and cybertruck uses Cybercells according to tesla) so it’s fair to assume the factory is meant to produce batteries for model 3 highland this year and model Y juniper next year. So I’m expecting Model 3 highland with standard range 300+ mi using M3P and Long range/performance 400-500+ mi using the 4680 battery. Also it wouldn’t make sense for the essentially 2.0 version of the model 3 not to use the 4680 battery that they said would be in vehicles years ago. It’s also clear that 400-500+ mi is what is expected because a few years ago when the 4680 battery was announced, tesla was testing 505-510mi Model Y’s. it just seems that tesla ran into issues mass producing the battery hence shipping model y’s with smaller battery packs. But now that mass production of the battery is possible and has been achieved somewhat then 400-500+ mi should be expected with the 4680 battery packs.

My Model 3 fell in range from 264 miles to 230 at 100 pct charge. During my 3 years with it, I limited it to the recommended charge setting on the screen. A software update seemed to make it suddenly drop in range one day. I've tried the "recalibrate" tricks shared online, but it wasn't successful for me. 😢

What was the max charging level of your battery? Did you charge it to 100% every time? I've read/heard many times that you must stop charging when the charging level reaches 80%, max 90%. I don't own any Tesla yet, but I like the Model 3 LR and I drove the Model Y LR. They are fantastic cars related to the ICEs (I own a Civic X 5D).

@@sorinpirtea2306 As I wrote, I only charged it to the recommended level, which is 80 or 90 pct. Once I noticed the drop in range, I charged it to 100 to see. And sure enough, I lost 13 pct range. I hope the Tesla you buy doesn't end up with other issues that I've had to fix out of pocket. And with the bad service center treatment I've gotten, I'm now looking into other EV brands.

Not a Tesla owner yet, so what is Premium Conductivity? Is that a cellular plan? What happens if you live where there are many miles of dead spots for Cellular coverage? If I would have a Model 3 LR, battery degradation would be my last concern. There are much more problems in Romania with EVs in general. For example, we don't have superchargers in every important city, only in few; where there are steep roads we don't find charging points, they are rare; we have big chances to remain with almost no range due to traffic conditions that request many accelerations and stops. And so on. Anyway, in 6 years of use there would be more other problems than the range, e.g. little stones coming from rear truck wheels (sunroof and windshield cracked or scratched), big gaps between daytime and nighttime temperatures across the year, dirty or very bad roads etc.

Older Model S owners are getting very angry over Tesla ignoring older Model S owners. The latest update that MCU1 owners have is from February of last year; 2022.8. Over a year old! Owners of older Teslas haven't had any updates for a looooong time. Even owners who originally paid thousands of dollars for FSD on MCU1 cars can't access FSDbeta because Tesla is ignoring owners of older cars. Tesla sold FSD to MCU1 cars with the promise that FSD would work on that car. There is no excuse for this neglect from Tesla. Does Tesla think that ignoring owners of 6 year old Teslas is going to instill confidence in someone who likes to keep a car for 5-10 years before they get a new one?

@@lkevonly so then, it was a lie when Tesla sold FSD to 2016 owners telling them that it would work with the car they bought. They never told the buyer that they would later have to spend an additional $2,500 for a computer upgrade before FSD would work. That's not right.

There has been recalls in the past for ‘misaligned front cameras’ but it shouldn’t be the case in your 2023 M3P.

@@rubabkarim8292 I would, but my sentry mode isn’t working. It tells me that I have videos to view, but when I go to check them, it’s empty. I’ve replaced the USB with a different one and have the same problem. I reached out to Tesla today and they had me on hold for an hour. Finally when the call was picked up, it was a survey asking me how did they do. This has been an awful experience. I own three Teslas: 2022 Model 3 LR, and two 2023 Model 3 Performance cars. Will be picking up my new model 3 soon. Looking for acessories and one that I am thinking of is to cover the hideous wood panel with a glueon mate plastic thing. Hope it doesn't just fall off with the summer heat. And should I cover the exterior mirrors? because being white I think they will get a lot of bad scratches and being plastic I can change them once in a while (unless the paint comes off)
